Arbetstillfredsställelse i samband med omorganisationSundström, Malin, Karlberg, Annika January 2009 (has links)

Patientupplevelser av omvårdnaden på en akutmottagning / Patient experiences of the caring at the emergency departmentLindström, Karl-Johan January 2009 (has links)
Patients arrive at emergency departments with large variations of diseases, injuries, age and psychological states. The work at the emergency department is often more focused on the medical aspects of nursing care. It is the patient´s experiences of the care that act as an estimation for how well the care is performed. The aim of this study is to investigate the patient’s experiences of care at the emergency department. The method used is a literature review of twelve articles which have a qualitative or quantitative approach. The study resulted in three major categories that patients experienced as caring. The categories were: communication between caregiver and caretaker, the nurse´s professionalism and the care environment. The results of this literature review also showed that patients have different needs of care depending on how sick or hurt they are. It is however important to build on each patient's life world to offer a personalized care which creates a sense of security for the patient. The study also shows that future studies needs to clarify how patients' experiences of care in emergency departments are related to the injured and sick patients are.

Assessing Job Satisfaction and Emotional Intelligence in Public School TeachersCobb, Brandy 01 January 2004 (has links)
ASSESSING JOB SATISFACTION AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS Brandy Cobb May 2004 63 Pages Directed by: Dr. William Pfohl, Dr. Steven Wininger, and Dr. Reagan Brown Department of Psychology Western Kentucky University The professional field of education has been particularly vulnerable to the retention of public school teachers. Teachers in today’s educational system face excessive expectations and demands such as increased accountability, lack of available resources, lack of parental support and involvement, negative student attitudes, low status of the profession, and low paying salaries (Meek, 1998; Tye & O’Brien, 2002). As a result of these demands, many teachers experience job dissatisfaction. According to Colbert and Wolff (1992), 50% of new teachers drop out of the profession during the first five years. The recent works of Daniel Goleman (1995, 1998) proclaim that individuals’ emotional intelligence is a predictor of on the job success and job satisfaction. There appears to be no studies conducted on emotional intelligence and teacher job satisfaction to date. To look at this phenomenon in the realm of teachers, this study asked teachers to complete a demographic survey, the BarOn EQ-i Self Report Scale, and the Job Descriptive Index. One hundred and one teachers were asked to complete these forms and 101 surveys were completed and returned. Data analyses revealed that emotional intelligence does play a role in how teachers perceive their overall job satisfaction based on self-report measures. The present study did support the hypotheses that emotional intelligence was correlated with years of teaching experience and job satisfaction. Suggestions for further research are discussed.

Predictors of Job Satisfaction among Staff in Assisted LivingLiu, Guangya 03 August 2006 (has links)
Using findings from a statewide study of satisfaction and retention of 294 direct-care staff in 39 assisted-living facilities (ALFs) in Georgia, this study examines the effect of sociodemographic, job, and attitudinal characteristics on overall job satisfaction and its various dimensions. The results show age has a negative effect on promotion satisfaction. Whites are more satisfied than non-whites with overall job, work, supervision, and pay. Urban workers are less satisfied with overall job, supervisor, coworker, promotion, and pay than their rural counterparts. Education negatively affects coworker satisfaction. Workers with children are less satisfied with supervisor relationships, and pay than childless persons. Pay is positively associated with pay satisfaction. Perceived workload is negatively associated with overall job satisfaction and each of its dimensions. Finally, perceived autonomy is positively associated with promotion satisfaction. The results of this study emphasize the need for new strategies to improve job satisfaction among workers in ALFs.

Emotionell intelligens och livstillfredställelseIngo, Sabine, Vikström, Natalie January 2012 (has links)

The relationship among the sense of calling workload and work satisfaction¢wtaking police officer as the exampleChen, Chi-wen 30 June 2010 (has links)
The purpose of this study is focus on the relationship among the sense of calling, workload and work satisfaction. Using police officers as the research subject, this study also intends to discuss the concept and the importance of the sense of calling. The results of this study show that older and married male, with longer tenure and higher ranking, seem to display higher degree of the sense of calling. Furthermore, the results also indicate that the sense of calling is positively related to work satisfaction, and surprisingly, is positively related to workload as well, which may imply the opposite sides of the influences of the sense of calling. Considering the strong link among the sense of calling, workload, and work satisfaction, it is believed that the sense of calling might play a critical role in the working context. Also, the concept of the sense of calling may differ from the previous illustration under the Chinese culture and in the specific occupational context, i.e. police; therefore, it should be worth to discuss in the future studies.

Sponsorship and the internal audience: examining how corporate sponsorship is related to organization identification and job satisfactionHall, Todd Kristopher 15 May 2009 (has links)
An investigation of the relationship between corporate sponsorship activities and human resource constructs was conducted through an online questionnaire with employees of a southern U.S. energy provider. Specifically, three sponsorship-related constructs, fan identification with a sponsored sport property, employee involvement with the sponsorship, and employee attitude toward the sponsorship were hypothesized to be positively related to employee organization identification and job satisfaction.
Social identification theory (SIT) provided the theoretical foundation of this study. Through a series of hypotheses, the three sponsorship-related constructs were hypothesized to exert both direct and indirect effects on employee organizational identification and job satisfaction. Testing the process of missing data for approximately 80 of the total 427 respondents showed that data was missing at random (MAR). Thus, missing data values were imputed using regression techniques available in AMOS 16.0 software. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to evaluate the path of predicted relationships. Assessment of the measurement model fit for the entire model showed that all but one indicator, for involvement with the sponsorship, loaded on latent variables as expected. In addition to comparing the results of the SEM analysis of the imputed data set (n = 427) to the data set with only complete responses (n = 308), a random sample (n = 200) was also analyzed, in order to assess the impact of sample size on fitting the data to the models.
A competing models approach to SEM analysis showed that four nested models differed only marginally on a couple goodness-of-fit indices. The principle of parsimony was thus utilized to select and evaluate the fit of the appropriate model. Evaluation of the hypotheses showed that fan identification and involvement with the sponsorship did not exert direct effects on employee organization identification and job satisfaction, but did influence these human resource constructs in an indirect manner. Additionally, an unpredicted, indirect relationship between organization prestige and job satisfaction was also established. Lastly, theoretical and managerial implications are discussed, along with the identification of several recommendations to guide future research relating corporate sponsorship with the internal audience.
