Institutionella repositorier, Open Access och doktoranderna som banar vägen : En kvalitativ studie / Institutional repositories, Open Access and the doctoral students that pave the way : A qualitative study

Granström, Beate January 2020 (has links)
Motivation is low for publishing and self-archiving in institutional repositories according to previous research, which is an issue since the repository’s full potential cannot be reached if it is void of materials. Doctoral students are the future of academia and ought to be given tools and information to be able to make informed decisions about where and how to publish. The purpose of this study is to shed light on possibilities and problems regarding self-archiving in institutional repositories by examining doctoral students at the University of Borås, focussing on their opinions of and experiences with the institutional repository DiVA as well as their perceived risks and benefits with self-archiving. Qualitative data were generated through five semi-structured interviews over videocalls. Respondents were doctoral students at the University of Borås with different levels of experience with publishing and self-archiving. The data was coded thematically and analysed using qualitative content analysis. Theories of constructivism and information literacy were applied to discuss the results. The respondents were generally knowledgeable concerning different levels of Open Access but seemed unsure of the purpose and function of DiVA. All self-archived because of the University’s policy, however not everyone recognized the personal benefits. This study concludes that research practices can be identified and problematized by acknowledging disciplinary differences in scholarly communication. Doctoral students are in a unique position to take the lead in forming research traditions that fit the new scientific landscape.

How training in phishing changes the perception of a secure email

Andersson, Niklas January 2021 (has links)

The economic and environmental impacts of transportation decisions : A multi-objective optimization / De ekonomiska och miljömässiga effekterna av transportbeslut : En multi-objektiv optimering

Eliasson, Joel, Segevall, Arvid January 2022 (has links)
Getinge AB is a global medical technology company. This master’s thesis is based on the outflow of capital equipments from Getinge’s factory in Växjö to four different sales and service units. The purpose of this thesis is to give Getinge a deeper insight of why the customers and the own organization do not know when they can expect their products. This makes most requests urgent and thus prohibits them from using the best environmental and cost efficient modes of transportation. Two sub-problems have been created in order to investigate this. Sub-problem 1 originates from an organizational perspective. The aim of this problem is to examine the possibilities to achieve less urgent transportations by improving the communication between sales and service units, factories and logistics services. This is evaluated based on semi-structured interviews containing both qualitative and quantitative questions with employees rep- resenting the different functions at the company. It appeared that different phrases, explaining the same thing, were used internally leading to confu- sion. Further, the different functions have harmonized follow-up sessions but do not share the information between each other. The resulting information vacuum creates trust issues and unnecessary time margins and buffers. Sub-problem 2 concerns the trade-off between the economic and environmen- tal impacts in relation to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Scope 3. This trade- off is evaluated by a multi-objective optimization model, where emissions are priced based on the EU ETS market valuation. Current research argues that the choice of transportation mode is the simplest emissions abatement option in terms of implementation. This study indicates that it is possible for Getinge, in the short-term, to decrease costs and emissions by just chang- ing between current transportation modes. However, a long-term strategy should include evaluation of consolidations, alternative fuels and electrified vehicles since the cost of decreasing one kilogram of emissions by changing between current transportation modes will increase. Finally, increased transparency and communication between sales and ser- vice units, factory and logistics services could be achieved via a one point of contact solution. This could avoid unnecessary time margins and buffers and hence open up the possibility of better over all lead time utilization. This could make it easier to use more environmental friendly transportation modes and thus lower emissions and costs, while still satisfying the customers.

Hur användardata & andra arbetssätt nyttjas för att nå hög kundtillfredsställelse / How user data & other work methods are utilized to attain high customer satisfaction

KALZÉN, EMMA, SÖRENSEN, JULIA January 2020 (has links)
Integrating collection and analysis of user data within product development is occurring in companies worldwide and across all industries. User data can provide a company with information about the users which can be utilized to develop existing and new products. This study aims to explore how a combination of user data and other work methods can identify and satisfy customer needs during the development of websites and apps. To answer the research questions a theoretical framework was built from a scientific literature study. The literature study gives much focus to the Kano model to explain the connection between different customer needs and customer satisfaction. Additionally, common user data and other work methods are presented. Subsequently, a qualitative study was conducted at four companies who are working with product development of apps and/or websites. The qualitative study consisted of semi-structured interviews. The results from the qualitative study were analysed and compared to the theoretical framework. After analysis and discussion, the study shows that a combination of user data and other work methods is profitable in a product development process to achieve high customer satisfaction. Furthermore, the study discovers the difficulties in measuring customer satisfaction since customer needs are constantly changing and also because customer satisfaction is often measured on specific product features, not the product as a whole.
