Vliv orální hormonální antikoncepce na ženskou sexualitu: evolučně psychologický přístup / The influence of oral hormonal contraceptive use on female sexuality: the evolutionary perspective

Klapilová, Kateřina January 2011 (has links)
The proposed thesis is comprised of eleven papers connected by the employment of the evolutionary psychological approach in research on various aspects of human sexuality. The aim of the first monothematic part is to demonstrate the evolutionary-psychological approach to one recent phenomenon in female sexuality - the use of oral contraceptives (OC). OC use has been shown to suppress psychological mechanisms that are considered to be adaptive in the fertile period of the natural menstrual cycle. In particular, OC users' ratings of male stimuli that provide the cues of genetic quality and compatibility are lower in comparison with normally cycling women. Moreover, the increase in sexual desire and in the prevalence of proceptive behaviour observed during mid-cycle in normally cycling women is diminished. However, the impact of this phenomenon on mate-choice and relationship dynamics in an ecological context has not been studied. In the first study, we have analyzed the data of Czech women obtained via representative sampling within the Czech National Survey of Sexual Behavior. Results indicated that normally cycling women had a significantly higher number of one-night stands during the last year in comparison to OC users even when living in a long-term relationship. OC usage was also shown to have...

Vztah mezi vlasovými charakteristikami a osobností u člověka / The relation between hair characteristics and personality in humans

Sýkorová, Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
Numerous studies have described that physical traits correlate with psychological personal characteristics. However, associations between congenital hair characteristics and personality have not been studied yet. Such studies have focused only on the association of hair color with a few specific psychological characteristics or emotions. The aim of this study was to reveal whether people with different hair darkness, redheadedness or curliness vary in personality and sexual traits. We have found significant connection of these traits with hair darkness and especially with redheadedness and curliness for men and women. These hair characteristics were associated with self-rated personality characteristics, Big Five personality traits and sexual orientation and preferences. We have excluded the mediating role of some physical and psychological factors for many associations. However, in many cases the connections disappeared when controlling for these factors, thus there is a possibility of a mediating role of these factors in observed associations. The hypothesis concerning the effect of stereotypes based on different types of hair and self-fulfilling prophecy was also considered.

Vliv pořadí narození a pohlaví sourozenců na sexuální chování a preference / Influence of birth order and sex of siblings on sexual behavior and preferences

Daňková, Hana January 2021 (has links)
Ontogeny of a human being is influenced by several innate and environmental factors. One of the key environmental factors is family, its structure, and the dynamics of family relationships. These can depend, among other things, on the birth order. Relatively a lot of research has been conducted to study the effect of birth order on humans, but the area of human sexuality is often neglected. Research in this area has so far yielded relatively inconsistent results and needs to be expanded further with new knowledge. That is the main goal of this diploma thesis. In our cross-sectional study, 4495 subjects from two-child families were analyzed. We performed a partial correlation analysis of birth order and selected variables related to human sexuality, considering the sex of siblings. Particular attention was paid to the first sexual experience, the number of sexual partners, sociosexual orientation (SOI-R), and dominant-submissive sexual preferences. We found that the order of birth is related to several of these variables (age of first sexual experience, number of sexual partners, sexual preferences), but the key role is played by the combination of the individual's gender and the sex of his sibling. These results should be followed up by more detailed research within specific families to verify the...

Společenská třída, sexualita a nacionalismus: konstrukce identity v prózách Brendana Behana / Class, Sexuality and Nationalism: Identity Building in the Prose Writing of Brendan Behan

Lamprecht, Nathalie January 2021 (has links)
Nathalie Lamprecht Abstract Class, Sexuality and Nationalism: Identity Building in the Prose Writings of Brendan Behan focuses on Irish author, playwright and rebel Brendan Behan's prose fiction. It uses notions of Irish autobiography, memory and narrativity in order to analyse his collected short stories, his only crime novel The Scarperer and his columns, originally published in the Irish Press, as well as his most extensive work, the autobiographical novel Borstal Boy. Due to the autobiographical nature of most of these texts, throughout this thesis biographies of the author function as co-texts. The aim of this thesis is to find out how Behan uses the themes of class, sexuality and nationalism in order to create identity in his prose. Mostly, the author is critical of his time's accepted version of Irishness, creating characters principally based on himself that do not fit the mould.

Vliv syndromu vyhoření na sexualitu u nelékařských pracovníků ženského pohlaví v neodkladné péči pomocí internetového šetření / The influence of the burnout syndrome on the sexuality of non medical health care female workers in emergency care setting through internet surveys

Balíková, Eliška January 2019 (has links)
(v AJ) Introduction to Issue: The examined issue of the thesis is the influence of burnout and its development on the sexuality of women in health care in emergency care. Since there are a few nurses working in hospital facilities, I think they are in great danger of burnout. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate this issue and discover possible solutions to avoid burnout. The objective of the thesis is to find out whether burnout syndrome and its development influence the sexuality of non-medical health workers. Methodology: The research was conducted by means of a quantitative method using the online questionnaire on the website Ošetřovatelství.info. The data were collected using two questionnaires, the first focused on burnout (the Czech version of the Shirom and Melamed scale) and the second, which investigated the sexual function of the respondents (KRATOCHVÍL, Stanislav. Treatment of Sexual Dysfunctions). All nurses and female paramedics working in intensive care were included in the research sample. Results: The results were processed in Microsoft Excel and the resulting averages in each region were compared with one another. The total research sample is 110 nurses and female medical rescuers. The actual data confirm the effect of burnout on the sexuality of women working in intensive...

Jak se rodí gender v diagnostickém ústavu / How gender is being born in a diagnostic institute

Benešová, Jana January 2015 (has links)
The dissertation completes research that began in late 2007. It presents research findings concerning ways and methods of (re) construction of gender identities of Czech children placed in facilities for institutional and protective education. Based on ethnographic research in Diagnostic institute Ark there are examined practices and techniques shaping gender roles and contents, which are rooted in the so-called helping professions discourses. Psychology, special education, social work, pedagogy, education and health education are specializations that converge are under the roof of the institutes and create a discursive field for the exercise of power-colored procedures disciplining the children who are placed (cf. Laan, 1998). These procedures are directly linked to the concepts of socially desirable sex-gender order. The research objective was to capture the processes which have been neglected by the Czech professional community so far and which may become potential disciplination instruments in the hands of professionals in a wide range of helping professions, including social and special pedagogy.
