Kompetenshöjande insats- vägen tillsjälvförsörjning? : en kvalitativ studie om unga vuxnas deltagandei kompetenshöjande verksamhet

Becker, Julia, Myllyniemi, Natasha January 2015 (has links)
The purpose of the study was that based on professionals' knowledge and experiences of young adults explore how the provision in chapter 4 § 4 SoL used in practice and whether it allows the chance to self-sufficiency .This was done through qualitative interviews with welfare benefits administrators, counselor , and young adults with connections to the subject .The study is inductive with a hermeneutic approach and the material has been analyzed using Maslow's hierarchy of needs , empowerment theory and previous research. The result showed that a competence-raising effort will ultimately lead to self-sufficiency, but also develops the participants' psychological well-being. Although participation in skill-enhancing activity is a requirement to receive welfare benefits, the young adults have a positive experience of the activities and counselors in contrast to previous research. The reason for the positive outcome seems to depend on the individual aid and the design.

Hot och våld i arbetslivet : - En kvalitativ studie om socialsekreterares utsatthet

Hugosson, Louise January 2010 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to investigate how social services workers describe, the risk of being exposed to threats and violence in their profession. Six social services workers were interviewed, four from the Welfare Office in a major city and two from the Child and Family Services in a minor city. Results showed that the majority of social services workers consider themselves exposed in their profession, meaning that they feel there's a risk of a violent or threatening situation occurring in their work situation. All interviewees had experiences from some sort of threat or violence in a work related context and they attested that non-personal assaults, such as threats made through telephone, email and answering machines are more common than verbal assaults made in personal meetings. Being prepared and listening to ones intuition is a way of dealing with exposure when meeting with a client. By working in pairs you can decrease the risk of being exposed in a violent/threatening situation. Several of the interviewees pointed out that they are more tolerant to certain clients in order to cope with their work situation.

Klientens väg in i en specialiserad socialtjänst : Om klienten i mottagningsenheten- exemplet försörjningsstöd / The client´s way into a specialized social service. : About the client in the receiving department- the example of financial support

Hentilä, Anna, Skärle, Linnea January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this study is to examine, with background of the swedish specialized social service, how the client is formed in a process by categorizing and sorting in the receiving department of the financial support. Which factors professionals are perceived to be problematic in the management of cases and the social workers approach to meet the clients needs. The study was conducted with one qualitative semi-structured interview with the head of the department of financial support, and two focus group interviews with social workers at the department of financial support. The theoretical approach is Hasenfeld´s theory about human service organizations, Billquist´s theory about the sorting process and Johansson´s theory about the client construction process. The empirical results also relate to Johansson´s theory about mass handling of clients and Svensson, Johnsson and Laanemets theory about the social workers action space. The conclusion of this study is that a specialized social service is categorizing and sorting the client through all parts of the process in the receiving department of financial support. The result shows that several factors makes it problematic for the social workers to respond to the client needs in a specialized social service, causing the social workers to use their acion space.

How School-Delivered, Non-Instructional Services Become Formalized:One School System's History

Davis, Mary Elizabeth A. 13 May 2016 (has links)
Public schooling in the Unites States of America has long been the site of more than just meeting the academic needs of the country’s youth. Among the many roles the school house has played in the history of public schooling in the United States is the mechanism to deliver non-instructional services to students. School-delivered, non-instructional services are those services that extend beyond addressing the academically-disposed, educational needs of children and aim to meet the social, emotional, and physical needs of young people while they are in the care of educators. Through an historical example grounded primarily in archival research, I establish a genealogy of school-delivered, non-instructional services by examining how staffing developed in the Cobb County School District in Cobb County, Georgia during the 1938-39 to 1976-77 time period. I will point to the role of federal involvement in public education and the professionalization of social services during this time period to connect the changes that occur in the instructional employees and non-instructional employees, with a specific examination of lunchroom employees and counselors, in one school system.

Handledning : En kvalitativ studie om socialarbetares upplevelser av handledningens betydelse inom barn- och familjesektorn i socialtjänsten / Supervision : A qualitative research of social workers experiences of supervisions impact working with children and families

Farquhar, Lisa January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this study was to get a better understanding of social workers experiences of supervisions impact on social work with children and families. The two research questions where: Which are social workers needs of supervision? And does social workers perceive supervision as a tool for professional development and learning? The study´s empirical findings were a result of semi-structured interviews with five social workers in the social service department. The study´s theoretical framework was based on two different theories: new institutionalism, which is a specialization within organizational theory, and system theory perspective. The result found that social workers experiences supervision as an opportunity for support and reflection, which encourages them to develop professional skills in their daily work. Supervision had an effect on social workers self-confidence and wellbeing by adding expertise, which gave more structure, energy and stress relief in their work. The interviews also showed that supervision had a direct impact on the interaction and the team climate within a working group. However, certain terms and conditions must have been considered to call supervision successful. The supervisors responsibility to lead, see the groups needs and have an over all perspective was mentioned as one condition for good supervision. Another term was that the group cooperated and showed professionalism and respect towards one another. It was very important that supervision took place in a safe environment and that all group members felt trust towards their colleagues and supervisor. This way they where able to learn from each others experiences and show vulnerability and emotions which could contribute to reflection and professional development. Furthermore, social workers emphasise supervision as positive and a necessary tool in order to achieve an efficient and well functioning workplace.
