Bezpečnostní analýza síťového provozu / Security inspection of network traffic

Kult, Viktor January 2017 (has links)
Thesis topic concerns the issue of information security in corporate environments. Literature search includes information obtained by studying articles and literature in the field of information security. Resources were selected with a focus on the security risks, security technologies and legislative regulation. Attention is focused on technology that supports monitoring of communication flows in the data network. Overview of traffic operating a data network provides important information for the prevention or investigation of security incidents. Monitoring also serves as a source of information for the planning of the network infrastructure. It can detect faults or insufficient transmission capacity. The practical part is dedicated to implementation of the monitoring system in the real corporate networks. Part of the experience is the analysis of the network structure and choice of appropriate tools for actual implementation. When selecting tools, you can use the scoring method of multicriterial analysis options. The integration of the monitoring system is also the configuration of active network elements. Subsequent analysis of network traffic provides information about the most active users, most used applications or on the sources and targets of data transmitted. It provides a source of valuable information that can be used in case of failure on the network or security incident. The conclusion is a summary of the results and workflow.

Static and Dynamic Analyses of a Long-Span Cable-Stayed Bridge with Corroded Cables

Xiang, Yang 19 November 2018 (has links)
This study investigates the static behavior and dynamic behavior of the Stonecutters Cable-Stayed Bridge, which is the third longest cable-stayed bridge in the world, when a group of 8 cables is damaged by corrosion. In this thesis, the reduction in cable cross-section area is used to simulate the corrosion level. The corroded cables are divided into 2 groups of 4 cables, arranged in symmetric and asymmetric distributions on both decks. A finite element bridge model was employed to perform the analysis. The validation of the model was established by comparing numerical results to the published results of the bridge. The model was then subjected to gravity load only to check the effects of corrosion level, the distance of the corroded cables and the distribution of the damaged cables on the decks’ deflection and cable stresses change. In the dynamic analysis, the natural frequencies and mode shapes were compared with a reference case with no corrosion-damaged cables. A recorded wind load was applied on the deck to investigate the time-history response of the mid-span in the horizontal, vertical and torsional directions, and of the tower top in the horizontal direction. Moreover, frequency analysis was performed on the time-history response, and coupled motions at certain frequencies were observed. Numerical results as the ones presented in this thesis can complement information gathered from non-destructive testing technology in detecting corrosion-damaged stay-cables in cable-stayed bridges.

The Green's Function, the Bergman Kernel and Quadrature Domains in Cn

Haridas, Pranav January 2015 (has links) (PDF)
In the first part of this thesis, we prove two density theorems for quadrature domains in Cn ,n≥2. It is shown that quadrature domains are dense in the class of all product domains of the form D×Ωwhere D⊂Cn−1 is a smoothly bounded pseudoconvex domain satisfying Bell’s Condition R and Ω⊂Cis a smoothly bounded domain. It is also shown that quadrature domains are dense in the class of all smoothly bounded complete Hartogs domains in C2. In the second part of this thesis, we study the behaviour of the critical points of the Green’s function when a sequence of domains Dk⊂Rn con-verges to a limiting domain Din the C∞-topology. It is shown that the limit-ing set of the critical points of the Green’s functions Gkfor domains Dk⊂Care the zeroes of the Bergman kernel of D. This generalizes a result of Solynin and Gustafsson, Sebbar.

Characterization of tolerance to oxidative stress, capacity to remove oxidized proteins and the life span of the yeast S. cerevisiae with site-specific mutations in the α5 subunit of the 20S proteasome: implications in the prevention of protein aggregation.

Erina Ohara 04 September 2015 (has links)
The proteasome is a protein complex responsible for the degradation of poly-ubiquitinated proteins. It comprises a catalytic unit called 20S proteasome (20SPT) and regulatory units (19S) coupled at one or both ends to form the 26S proteasome. The 20SPT is able to degrade proteins by an ATP and ubiquitin independent process. This mechanism is considered preventive of protein aggregation, since the accumulation of oxidized proteins is directly related to aging and neurodegenerative diseases. It was observed by our group that the yeast 20SPT (S. cerevisiae) is modified by S-glutathiolation in the residues Cys 76 and Cys 221 of the 5 subunit. Data obtained by transmission electron microscopy showed that the S-glutathiolation promotes the opening of the catalytic chamber and consequently increased degradation of oxidized proteins. Recently, strains were obtained by site-specific mutations by replacing the two glutathiolable Cys residues by Ser. Tests performed with the C221 strain showed an increased longevity and resistance to oxidative stress when compared to the wild type strain, whereas the C76 strain showed a slower growth. It was also found that the isolated population of the 5-C221S proteasome presents the highest frequency of open catalytic chamber conformation. Opposite results were observed in the C76S lineage. However, we noted an increased pool of oxidized proteins and protein aggregates in the C221 strain compared to the wild type. These data do not match with the increase of chronological life span observed in this lineage, but we believe that these aggregates are related to a kind of \"sequestration\" of potentially damaging proteins, as will be discussed in this work.

Employee empowerment: Relationships between location in the hierarchy, span of control, and industry type on perceptions of empowerment.

Turner, Jon T., Jr. 08 1900 (has links)
The current study seeks to examine the relationships between perceptions of employee empowerment and perceptions of leadership, span of control, and industry type. Participants were gathered from an archival source employing a high school alumni e-mail group (n = 361) and a survey from 9 organizations (n = 647) and combined into a larger sample (n = 1008). The participants took Bodner's (2005) Assessment of Employee Empowerment and Assessment of Empowering Leadership instruments. Support was found to suggest that people report being less empowered than they believe that top management would report about them. Also, participants reported that their leader was less empowering than they believed top management would report about the leader. Span of control was found to impact perceptions of empowerment. Production workers reported feeling more empowered than workers in service industries. Participants did not report that leaders were more empowering if they were higher in the hierarchy (executive) than lower levels (coach, employee). Also, a respondent's position did not affect the relationship between job type and feelings of empowerment. This study suggests that the organizational design (span of control) and industry type may affect empowerment initiatives, while lower levels of the organization may view empowerment much differently than top management.

Ungdomsbrottslighet i Sverige - En studie av potentiella riskfaktorer som leder till ungdomsbrottslighet

Ahmed, Hussein, Khalaf, Murtada Ali January 2020 (has links)
The aim of this study is to understand the risk factors contributing to juvenile delinquency for young men in Sweden. Previous research shows that juvenile delinquency is a theme that exists in all communities and affects several areas of society such as family relations, social relations, academic achievement as well as individual consequences. In this essay, the focus is on identifying risk factors putting young men at greater risk of committing crimes, but also explaining the underlying causes of why these risk factors exist by using theoretical frameworks such as empowerment and life-span theories. The central point of the essay is thus the question of how and why some young men become criminals? The methods used are a systematic literature study combined with semi structured interviews in order to understand why some young men are more vulnerable than others in committing crime. The interviews consist of statements based on professional experience from four different non-governmental organizations in Sweden working with youths. The results of the study show that the environment these young men grow up in plays a major role for both academic achievement and the development of various personality disorders which can contribute to criminal behavior. The results of the interviews also show that social structures make these young men feel powerless in relation to themselves, school and society. This type of feeling of exclusion on a social and individual level tend to increase the risk of criminal behavior and lifestyle for some young men in Sweden.
