Inserção às avessas : a imigração espanhola em Franca-SP (1900-1955) /

Dias, Vanessa Martins. January 2010 (has links)
Nesse sentido, o principal foco do trabalho está na tentativa de se aferir como esses imigrantes da colônia espanhola em Franca conseguiram se adaptar a uma nova cidade e, nesse sentido, quais foram as estratégias às quais recorreram para poderem sobreviver e se ajudarem num novo território / Abstract: This work intends to perform a study on the Spanish immigration in Franca, a city in the State of São Paulo, between the years of 1900 and 1955. Several factors, among the political, economical and social, may have caused the arrival of the Spaniards to the areas of the State of São Paulo, who owned the largest coffee plantations. However, a great part of them found situations different from the ones which they expected and, because of that, they created mechanisms which made possible not only the adaptation in a new territory, but also the insertion and mutual help. In this sense, the main focus of the work is on the attempt to measure how these immigrants from the Spanish colony in Franca could adapt themselves to a new city and, in this sense, what the strategies to which they made used to survive were and help mutually in a new territory / Mestre

Imigrační a azylová politika Španělska v rámci Evropské unie / Spanish immigration and asylum policy within the EU

Chvátalová, Karolina January 2009 (has links)
The thesis analyses the evolution of the common European immigration and asylum policy and its similarities or dissimilarities in comparison with the Spanish national immigration and asylum policy. This comparison has been made by using the theoretical base of Europeanization. This concept means bringing the European dimension down to the level of national states. I have come to the conclusion that the EU has an influence mainly on the external part of immigration policy which means above all the protection of the borders of Schengen area. On the other hand, there are areas such as granting permanent residence to the immigrants varies significantly in the EU member states. The process of europeanization does not have a clear and unified influence on domestic immigration and asylum and other domestic policies.

L’immigration espagnole à Paris dans les années 1960 : discours, représentations et stéréotypes / Spanish Immigration to Paris in the 1960s : Discourses, Representations and Stereotypes

Tur, Bruno 07 June 2014 (has links)
The objective of this work is to analyze the social representations and stereotypes concerning Spanish immigration in the 1960s in Paris, not only in the decade that saw the arrival of Spanish women and men in the French capital, but also in the years that followed, until today. Starting from the premise that both the country of emigration and immigration countries have produced discourses on migrants, this work first seeks to identify these representations, mainly from three sources: oral interviews, audiovisual archives (photographs, radio, television), and dummy productions (literature, cinema). It follows that three "players" produced discourse on migration and migrants: the society of origin, the host society, migrants themselves. The proposed development therefore seeks to analyze the speech to show what they have in common and how they differ. If some speech left few traces contemporary, fading gradually as time passed, others have instead endured over time and are still recognizable today, in both Spain and France. This study shows that it is mainly women who have been the subject of speeches and performances. In Spain, emigration was considered an opportunity for men to move forward in their career but rather a danger for women. In France, it is the strong presence of Spanish women in Paris that has fueled most of the speech up to create a stereotype: that of the servant Conchita.

Memories and silences of Spanish immigrants in the city of São Paulo. (1946-1965)

The Spanish came to the city in two great migratory moments: at the end of XIX century and at the beginning of XX century to substitute the slave workforce in the coffee plantations and after the Second World War (1939-1946) and the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) to work at the recent industry which was in development and needed specialized workforce. The Spanish people did not leave evident prints and permanencies in the city of Sao Paulo, as the other groups of immigrants, especially concerning their typical food, fact that is not observable in the descendent families and also at the small number of typical restaurants in the city. The gastronomy as a cultural manifestation, memory and identity is the last habit that a group abandons when migrates, because it is connected to tastes and costumes. The alimentation suffers adaptations or substitutions of ingredients from the country of reception. This work has as objective the study of silences and permanencies of Spanish immigrants from the second moment of their immigration to Sao Paulo, as for its alimentation habits in the period of 1946-1965.

The spanish immigration in Brazil. The case of Villa Novaes - SP, 1880-1930.

Canovas, Marilia Dalva Klaumann 18 October 2001 (has links)
This dissertation aims at recovering and investigating the formation and development of a community whose origins are linked to two factors, namely, the considerable changes introduced by the upgrading of the coffee planting techniques in the region later on designated as Araraquarense, and the progressive presence of immigrant contingents of Spanish origin. As a matter of fact, the analytical reconstruction of the Spanish settlement in that region, Villa Novaes - SP, provided elements for another series of wider formulations, whose fundamental variants derive from these immigrants' native land. We tried to apprehend the multiple dimensions of the phenomenon of mass emigration of Spaniards in its roots, and to investigate the expectations of these immigrants concerning the country they were bound to as a whole, and, more specifically, the aspects revealed by the community in which they settled down, and which is the object of this thesis. Our aim was the one of setting up a referentially integrated and organic view. With this aim, and considering the double nature of our study - the collective and the individual one - we privileged two types of empirical sources to support our investigation: besides consulting written documents, we tried to open space for the investigation of the experiences of those who had actually lived all that series of past episodes, casting them as protagonists rather than as minor characters within the scenery of History. The combination of the two aforementioned types of sources aimed at recovering and discussing the particular characteristics os Spanish immigrants in Brazil in the focused period (1880-1930), and at understanding their role within the general context of immigration in Brazilian society.
