Sjuksköterskors copingstrategier för att hantera arbetsrelaterad stress inom slutenvården : En litteraturstudie / Nurses coping strategies to manage occupational stress in in-patient care : A Literature StudyÜzüm, Sedef Özge, Bahizi, Mazone Ducci January 2022 (has links)
Background: Negative effects on health caused by work-related stress is widespread among nurses because of several factors, for example a high workload in combination with great responsibilities for patients' safety, health and wellbeing. In-patient care is an area where nurses experience particularly high demand and where the effects on patient safety also risk being especially severe, whereby it is not possible to ignore, it is of assence to explore what coping strategies are experienced as stress reducing. Aim: The aim of this study was to describe nurses coping strategies to manage occupational stress in in-patient care. Methods: A qualitative literature review. Articles analysed using a thematic analysis method. Results: The findings are based on ten qualitative scientific articles. Three main themes were identified: Resoursces and support for managing stress, Attitudes for managing stress, Behavior and activity for managing stress. Conclusion: The authors of this study argue for the importance of combining implementation of education programs on stress-reduction with structural changes of outer conditions on a local as well as a global level.

Choosing integration strategy: Trading risk for value : A multiple case study in post-acquisition integrationDahlberg, Oliver, Tonelid, Teodor January 2022 (has links)
The importance of the post acquisition integration in order to realize the anticipated value from an acquisition has been researched from various angles. Scholars have identified several distinct integration strategies that acquiring firms implement, that differs to what extent the acquired firm is integrated. This paper examines why firms choose a specific integration strategy, and how the strategy is implemented. A multiple case study was conducted with three Swedish companies in different industries, all with technology as a common denominator. Through an inductive approach, the empirical data was coded and analyzed. With the help of existing literature, the analysis showed that the dimension risk aversion can be added to the existing body of literature to explain the choice of integration strategy. The analysis also indicated that an absorbent integration strategy comes with more human resource challenges, however the benefit is a potentially higher value creation.

The Effects of Metacognitive Listening Strategy Instruction on ESL Learners' Listening MotivationRivera, Corbin Kalanikiakahi 01 June 2018 (has links)
Prior studies looking at the effects of listening strategy instruction on motivation have shown there to be a positive correlation between the two. However, the participants of these studies all shared a first language (L1) and were not enrolled in an intensive English program (IEP). This study aims to investigate the correlation between listening strategy instruction and listening motivation in an IEP classroom for students from different L1s. Listening motivation was recorded utilizing the English Listening Comprehension Motivation Scale (ELCMS) and strategy use was tracked with the Metacognitive Awareness Listening Questionnaire (MALQ). Pre- and post-test scores of 56 participants (control group, n=30; experiment group, n=26) were analyzed using a mixed-effects regression and paired t-test to determine differences after a 7-week treatment period. Results revealed that study participant motivation levels in both groups decreased over the treatment period, with the experiment group seeing a smaller decrease than the control group.

Evaluation of Hedging Strategies of Asian Options on Electricity at Nord PoolZackrisson, Ella January 2015 (has links)
This thesis empirically evaluates a geometric Brownian motion and a stochastic volatility model for modeling futures prices and hedging Asian call options on the electricity spot price. Estimation of parameters for the models is done based on historical futures prices of futures contracts with a one month delivery period using nonlinear regression and Maximum Likelihood techniques. The models are tested on 2014 data and tracking error for each model is presented. The tracking error is investigated through the median value, the spread between minimum and maximum value along with value at risk at a 95% level. In addition, a third model for modeling spot and futures prices is presented theoretically. It is an exponential additive model with the advantage that it models the future price process from the spot price, instead of modeling the future price process immediately. This bypasses the issue of no information about the future price process during the delivery period, when there is no prices of the futures contracts. The aim of this thesis is to compare the simpler geometric Brownian motion to the more complex stochastic volatility model. It is found that the stochastic volatility model performs better when tested on out-of-sample data. The geometric Brownian motion tends to underestimate the electricity prices, despite that 2014 had low pricest compared to the other years in the data sample. In addition, the approximation of the distribution of the future price process under the geometric Brownian motion model gave a bad fit and led to difficulties when estimating the parameters. The stochastic volatility model produced more stable results and gave a better fit for the distribution.

Arktis - det nya slagfältet : En kvalitativ studie över Sveriges och USA:s säkerhetsstrategi för den arktiska regionenRöjerås, Ida, Trogen, Sara January 2022 (has links)
As temperatures in the Arctic continue to rise, so do the tensions between the Arctic states as Russia and China belligerently stake their claims in the Arctic region. Before the crippling effects of climate change, the Arctic was a region that was hard to gain access to due to the colossal glaciers that provided a natural barrier that kept countries at bay. The Arctic harbors massive amounts of natural resources that many countries have exhibited an interest in. The premise of this research paper is to compare the United States and Sweden’s security strategies regarding the Arctic region. What goals, assets, methods and environmental factors does each country have. The United States has a long standing status as a great power, this paper seeks to find out whether being a great power or not plays a significant role in the outcome of a security strategy. Using Westberg’s security strategy theory, Realism and small state theory this paper will compare and delve into the differences between the United States and Sweden’s strategies in the Arctic. The overall conclusion was that being a great power or small power impacted the security strategy to a great extent. Sweden’s strategy emphasized preventive measures and highlighted the importance of cooperation; meanwhile the American strategy took on a greater responsibility as the only great power able to balance out Russia’s military operation and placed more emphasis on their military strategy.
