In this thesis, the emergence of pachucos and their later influence on Chicano movement ideology is examined. By visually challenging accepted racial identities, pachucos protested the discrimination of their time. Later on, Chicanos would take the figure of the pachuco and combine it with other aspects of Chicano ideology to form a synthesized symbol of resistance to inspire their fight for equal rights.

O objetivo desta dissertação é apresentar uma análise profunda sobre os contratos built to suit ou contratos de locação nos contratos de construção ajustada. Para tanto, parte-se do exame das peculiaridades, obrigações e dos deveres inerentes a esse modelo contratual. A partir daí, com base na teoria dos contratos atípicos, busca-se apresentar as variáveis e os critérios que podem nortear sua qualificação e, como consequência, a definição das regras a ele aplicáveis. Pretende-se também apresentar o exame do contrato no contexto de conexão negocial no qual ele normalmente se insere na prática jurídica. As conclusões dessa análise serão, ao final, examinadas à luz da Lei do Inquilinato, especialmente das alterações incluídas pela Lei nº. 12.744, de 19 de dezembro de 2012. / The purpose of this essay is to present an in-depth assessment of built to suit contracts or lease agreements in adjusted construction contracts. To that end, this essay will first analyze the particularities, obligations and duties that are inherent to that contractual type. Subsequently, based on the unregulated contracts doctrine, this essay will seek to present the variables and criteria that may serve as guidelines to qualify those contracts and, accordingly, to unveil the rules applicable to them. This paper will also examine those contracts in their business context from a legal practice perspective. Lastly, the conclusions of this assessment will be considered in light of the Brazilian Tenancy Law, and more specifically of the amendments brought by Law No. 12,744, of December 19, 2012.

Due to the rapid development in electronics and radio communication systems, modern technologies are implemented to improve the safety and security of workplaces in order to save field service engineers lives and their health. In this thesis, an automated safety suit was implemented with integrated sensors for monitoring the safety of field service engineers. The basic idea of the prototype is to ensure safety for the field service engineers who are working in adverse environmental conditions. This safety suit includes embedded devices which can communicate with mobile devices and by means of that provides aid for the people working in several fields such as confined spaces, high altitudes etc. In this prototype, a different type of sensors are proposed for monitoring environmental and health conditions like temperature, CO gas levels, relative humidity, body temperature and heartbeat. A mobile application is proposed to monitor and control the automated safety suit, which also identifies the environmental changes and provide prompt alerts to the user. Keeping the usage of automated safety suit in mind, the system is designed in a user friendly manner and all the key elements are considered and implemented accordingly for the requirements of service engineers who are working in confined spaces and hazardous places.

This thesis examines the possibilities of the tattoo as a collectible. Specifically, three different modes of collecting and displaying tattoos; as a living museum on the body of the tattooed subject, as a skin specimen separated from the body and displayed in a variety of museum settings and, finally, as an image abstracted from the body in the form of photographs of tattooed sitters. Implicit in this journey from body art to artifact is a consideration of the changing meaning and significance of tattoos in the evolving discourse of visual culture. Once regarded as markers of social deviance - as symbols of exclusion or marginalization - tattoos have become a much more popular and widely accepted form of body art - signs of community, affinity and inclusion. The growing popularity of tattoos has also led to a reconsideration of their status as an art form, an elevation of what was once considered a 'low art' process to the realm of high art. This shift has only recently led to an increase in scholarship about tattoos within the discourses of both art history and visual culture. In this thesis I examine this new scholarship about tattoos in visual culture, and then go one step further by considering tattoos as visual objects within the culture of collecting. Specifically, I examine tattoos as collectible 'souvenirs', as specimens and, when reproduced as photographs, as socially resonant signs of identity and meaning. These case studies examine tattoo art from various perspectives. Primarily, as art collected on the body, but also as imagery existing separate from a physical form, just like the majority of collected artwork.

Topic of the diploma paper: Nursing Documentation in the Czech Republic. The paper compares nursing documentations used in various health-care establishments. Examining their printed form, it takes their main parts and focuses on the contents of individual components and on the records of implementation of the nursing process. These areas are analyzed and compared in the practical part of the paper. The objective of the diploma paper was to ascertain what documentation is used by health-care establishments in the Czech Republic and to compare these internal materials. From 49 contacted establishments in all regions of the Czech Republic, the research covered 15 establishments that consented to cooperation and provided nursing documentation in a printed form. All obtained materials were analyzed and used in research. In order to attain the objectives, qualitative research was used. A record sheet, based on 12 areas of the Gordon{\crq}s model, was made up for the purposes of the comparison. Individual documentations were kept and processed, and are referred to in the paper under letters of the alphabet so that anonymity of the research is maintained. Individual materials were analyzed. The contents of the sheets were compared and evaluated. The collected data were processed by means of Microsoft Office Word program. From the results of the research it is apparent that the documentations maintained by all the health-care establishments have a similar composition. They contain the nursing anamnesis, nursing care plan and other documents examined in detail in the paper. The nursing anamnesis is divided into individual fields that are not based on any mode and whose number varies. Measuring techniques are used in the documentations. The most widespread was Barthel{\crq}s test of activities of daily living. A nursing anamnesis is connected with a nursing care plan. All 15 documentations contain this plan. Six health-care establishments decided for a free form, six establishments for a preprinted form and the last three establishments combined the printed and the free form into one. According to the findings, all the examined samples are on a comparable level and comply with all the criteria of quality care of a patient, given by the needs of practice. The results of the paper will be provided to the cooperating establishments that may use them in order to achieve better quality of patient records.

Det mest vanliga idag är att kostymbyxor har två sidsömmar eftersom den har en stor vikt för plaggets passforms och komfort. Om dessa inte existerar måste byxans innerbensöm inrymma all passform vilket gör det problematiskt då byxan ska sitta nära kroppen. Studien är ett samarbete med ett svenskt modeföretag som vill skapa en effektivare konfektionslösning rörande borttagningen av en figurnära kostymbyxas sidsöm.   Uppsatsen använder sig av företagets mest sålda vara för revidering, tillsammans med jämförelse av litteratur och en marknadsundersökning. Andra metoder som används i undersökningen är avprovning på intern provmodell som bedömts visuellt och via ett avprovningsprotokoll men också tabeller i form av krav- och måttlistor.   Genom att applicera mönsterkonstruktionen på tyg i olika vinklar i förhållande till tygets trådrak har olika resultat påvisats. Resultatet visar bättre passform vid en trådrak parallellt med varpriktningen. Det visar sig även finnas ett samband med materialets draperingsförmåga, det mjukare materialet i studien ger ett finare fall. Medan 45° trådrak från varpriktningen visade ett resultat som hade passformsbrister. / The most common things today is that suit pants have two side-seams because it's of great importance to achieve the desired fit and comfort of the garment. Without the side-seams, the inside leg seam would have to involve all fits, which makes it problematic considering the garment is supposed to stay tight to the body.  The study is a collaboration with a Swedish fashion company that wants to creat a more effective clothing solution for removal of a figurative suit pants side-seams.   The essay uses the company’s best-selling product for revise, along with comparing of literature and one market research. Other methods used in the survey are tests on an internal test model, assessed visually and through a test protocol, but also test charts in regard to requirements and measurements.   By applying the pattern to the fabric at different grainlines, different results have been shown. The results shows better fit at grainline parallel to the warp direction. It also turns out that there is a connection with the draping ability of the material, the softer material in the study gives a finer drape. While 45° grainline from the warp direction showed a result that had lack of fit.

This study draws parallels between the dramatic works Rabinal Achí­, an anonymous ancient Mayan text, and the Luis Valdez masterpiece Zoot Suit. The parallel that I seek to establish is one of the strong trend of historical revisionism in both works as well as a parallel development of plot and characterization. This work does not claim to be representative of revisionism as a whole, nor does it seek to establish a new official history, but it does to demonstrate how both works, even though they are separated by hundreds of years, share a common bond of subversion and direct opposition to established norms and to the "facts" of a recorded official history in an attempt to give voice to the experience of the historically overlooked individual.
