Konstrukce dvouosého suportu vícevřetenového soustružnického automatu / Design of a two-axis multi-spindle lathe carriage

Sedlář, Jiří January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of a two-axis multi-spindle lathe carriage. In the first part, there is made a research, and its aim is to find possible variants of design solutions. After the best rated variant was selected, the thesis further continues with the necessary technical calculations of the main design nodes such as a synchronous servomotor, ball screw, linear guide and bearing. The design itself was carried out with regard to calculations and the resulting model was examined in terms of dynamic stability. The subject of examination was to find the natural frequencies of the assembly and to determine the amplitudes of the oscillations which arise from the harmonic excitation force. Finally, Lobe diagrams for grooving and longitudinal turning operations were drawn.

Morfologie dolní čelisti s ohledem na demografickou strukturu raně středověkého pohřebiště Mikulčice / Morphology of the mandible with regard to the demographic structure of the early medieval burial area Mikulčice

Thon, Tomáš January 2020 (has links)
This Master's thesis focuses on the influence of socioeconomic status on the morphology of the mandible of individuals from the early medieval burial area in Mikulčice. This hillfort was an important center of power of the Great Moravian Empire with a stratified society. This work compares 2 different approaches on how to divide the inhabitants. The first of them is the division of individuals according to the location of graves into individuals from the castle, sub-castle, and hinterland. The second approach is the division of individuals according to the richness of grave equipment into individuals with rich and poor grave equipment. A different social status is associated mainly with different diets. Therefore, the attachments of the masticatory muscles are the most affected areas. A total of 132 individuals (59 males and 73 females) were analyzed. The material was evaluated by methods of geometric morphometrics. The used methods were CDP DCA, GPA, two-sample t-test, PCA, MANOVA, and SVM. Sexual dimorphism was observed in all sub-groups of the Mikulčice population. Men have larger mandibles with rami wider apart. The biggest differences are between individuals from the castle, the smallest between individuals with rich grave equipment. The distribution of individuals based on the location of...

Devesa i Peiró, Francesc 24 March 2006 (has links)
This thesis presents an integrated management project for hydraulic sanitation infrastructures at the basin of the River Besòs. Two sanitation systems were taken into account (La Garriga and Granollers) with their respective sewage systems and Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), and one stretch of the River Congost, a tributary of the Besòs, as a receptor environment for their waste water. To this end, an Environmental Decision Support System (EDSS) was constructed and used. This tool incorporates the use of water quality simulation models for the sewage systems, WWTP and river as a means of obtaining knowledge about the integrated management of these elements. This knowledge is later conceptualised in the form of decision trees, which provide the user with the interventions to be carried out when faced with the various real situations which arise in day-to-day management.

Coordinated management of urban wastewater systems by means of advanced environmental decision support systems

Murlà Tuyls, Damián 17 May 2013 (has links)
In the last decades and due to the Water Framework Directive implementation, the urban wastewater cycle management has become more complex. The concept of integrated urban wastewater system management is introduced, and it becomes necessary to consider some new data as the sewer system characteristics or the receiving body. In this sense, environmental decision support systems (EDSS) are very useful and powerful tools to support during the decision making process. A new EDSS for the integrated urban wastewater system management has been developed integrating data from several sources (bibliographic, theoretical or historical) and a real case-based virtual system able to perform simulations. Results demonstrate the benefits of using this kind of systems in comparison with a standard approach, which do not use the expert knowledge and encourages continuing with this research in order to improve the quality and efficiency of this type of EDSSs / En les darreres dècades, i degut a la implementació de la Directiva Marc de l’Aigua, la gestió del cicle urbà de l’aigua ha esdevingut més complexa.

Rius Bonjoch, Maria 02 December 2005 (has links)
The professional activity is basic in the life of any person and in the case of the disabled people it is highly powerful so that they assume the adult identity. So, in the thesis, an approach is made to know more about the situation between disabled people and work and to study what kind of measures explain the current labour insertion of disabled people either in shelter places or in the ordinary labour market. The general goal of the thesis is an in-depth investigation about a labour insertion experience of mental disability people in the Catalonia's Administration. The investigation has been structured in two phases. First of all it has made a descriptive analysis of searched group. Then it has been developed a case study framed in a qualitative methodological perspective to show the witness of the protagonists, starting off from their stories and to pick up their valuations.

DEVELOPMENT OF CONTROLLED DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS OF POLYMERIC NANOMEDICINES ASSOCIATED TO SCAFFOLDS FOR TISSUE REGENERATION

Rodríguez Escalona, Gabriela de Jesús 02 May 2016 (has links)
[EN] Nowadays, one of the biggest concerns that permanently keep the attention of main important sectors of human society is health. Modern medical science is compromised with not only providing good adequate treatments but also effective specific solutions for each type of disease or human pathology. In this direction, innovative approaches like tissue engineering or regenerative medicine, controlled drug delivery systems and nanomedicines emerge to bring alternatives to situations hard to solve with conventional treatment and strategies, including the replacement of damaged or diseases tissues and/or organs. Specifically, this research is mainly aimed to design a combined system for controlled, stable and localized release of therapeutic agents that are able to exert their effect selectively on the area that warrants treatment. This construct will have enough versatility to be adapted to almost any kind of treatment, from cancer to tissue regeneration, always that the key requirement of the treatment was the need to provide the treatment of localized, stable and controlled manner. With the purposes of making easier the understanding as well as the design of the system, I was decided, for the proof of concept, to use drugs and materials with known activity applied on tissue regeneration and for the treatment of chronic wounds. The system in question consists of three main elements: 1) The first element is the polymer conjugates of therapeutic agents, which contribute to increasing the selectivity of the therapeutic action of the drug, as well as improved stability, bioavailability and biocompatibility thereof. If the drug is hydrophobic, conjugation contributes to increase its solubility in water, and in the case of proteins used as therapeutic agents, the combination helps reduce the body's immune response, increasing the chance of successful of the treatment. 2) The second element are the biodegradable polymeric microparticles, which in this case act like encapsulation agents for polymeric conjugate , thus allowing to have a second control point in the release kinetics of the therapeutic agents . Simultaneously, the microparticles also play a role in modifying the texture of the final construct, ascribing mechanical and physicochemical properties that help to improve some biological properties of the final material, such as the affinity, adhesion and cell proliferation. 3) The third element consists of a nanoporous membrane made of a biodegradable polymer by electrospinning, which constitute the unifier element of the whole system. This membrane provides manageability to the construct and is itself the last point of control in the release kinetics of the therapeutic agent or agents. Besides, it must be biocompatible and stable at ambient conditions, since this probably is going to be exposed to the environment while protecting the wound, in the case of this kind of application. These three elements, which themselves are complex systems separately, are systematically combined to achieve a synergistic relationship between them so that each one power the qualities of the other two. The resulting construct was characterized and it demonstrated to have characteristic properties that can be used as a control parameter during manufacture of this new material. Also, preliminary biological studies developed "in vitro" indicated that the proposed system may be a good candidate for deeper studies as alternative treatment for chronic wounds and other pathologies that require localized administration for long periods of time. Development of an environmental decision support system for the selection and integrated assessment of process flow diagrams in wastewater treatment

Garrido Baserba, Manel 04 March 2013 (has links)
The wastewater treatment plays an important role in the maintenance of natural water resources. However, regardless of the technology used or the level of treatment required, the treatment plants of the XXI century are highly complex systems that not only need to meet technical requirements, but also environmental and economic criteria. In this context, decision support systems for environmental domains (English, Environmental Decision Support Systems or EDSS) are configured as an effective tool to support the selection and evaluation of integrated water treatment alternatives. The EDSS designed can be defined as interactive software, flexible and adaptable, which links the numerical models / algorithms, techniques and environmental ontologies, knowledge-based environment, and is capable of supporting decision making, either in choosing between different alternatives, improving potential solutions, or in the integrated assessment using methodologies ranging from environmental (Life Cycle Analysis) to economic / La depuració d’aigües residuals juga un paper fonamental en el manteniment dels recursos hídrics naturals.

Application of the Duality Theory

Lorenz, Nicole 15 August 2012 (has links) (PDF)
The aim of this thesis is to present new results concerning duality in scalar optimization. We show how the theory can be applied to optimization problems arising in the theory of risk measures, portfolio optimization and machine learning. First we give some notations and preliminaries we need within the thesis. After that we recall how the well-known Lagrange dual problem can be derived by using the general perturbation theory and give some generalized interior point regularity conditions used in the literature. Using these facts we consider some special scalar optimization problems having a composed objective function and geometric (and cone) constraints. We derive their duals, give strong duality results and optimality condition using some regularity conditions. Thus we complete and/or extend some results in the literature especially by using the mentioned regularity conditions, which are weaker than the classical ones. We further consider a scalar optimization problem having single chance constraints and a convex objective function. We also derive its dual, give a strong duality result and further consider a special case of this problem. Thus we show how the conjugate duality theory can be used for stochastic programming problems and extend some results given in the literature. In the third chapter of this thesis we consider convex risk and deviation measures. We present some more general measures than the ones given in the literature and derive formulas for their conjugate functions. Using these we calculate some dual representation formulas for the risk and deviation measures and correct some formulas in the literature. Finally we proof some subdifferential formulas for measures and risk functions by using the facts above. The generalized deviation measures we introduced in the previous chapter can be used to formulate some portfolio optimization problems we consider in the fourth chapter. Their duals, strong duality results and optimality conditions are derived by using the general theory and the conjugate functions, respectively, given in the second and third chapter. Analogous calculations are done for a portfolio optimization problem having single chance constraints using the general theory given in the second chapter. Thus we give an application of the duality theory in the well-developed field of portfolio optimization. We close this thesis by considering a general Support Vector Machines problem and derive its dual using the conjugate duality theory. We give a strong duality result and necessary as well as sufficient optimality conditions. By considering different cost functions we get problems for Support Vector Regression and Support Vector Classification. We extend the results given in the literature by dropping the assumption of invertibility of the kernel matrix. We use a cost function that generalizes the well-known Vapnik's ε-insensitive loss and consider the optimization problems that arise by using this. We show how the general theory can be applied for a real data set, especially we predict the concrete compressive strength by using a special Support Vector Regression problem.
