Generic use of articles in French This Diploma thesis deals with the generic use of articles in the French language. It is divided into the theoretical and the experimental part. After the broader introduction into the issue of determinants, the most important part of the work treats genericity expressed in French by the definite article in singular and plural as well as by the indefinite article in singular. Firstly, the existing research on the subject of generic articles is studied, including the presentation of various approaches and principal theories, then is formulated proper syntactic and semantic interpretation of genericity which is finally verified in the experimental part of the thesis based on the analysis of model sentences. Denna studie förklarar hur de tre bästa respektive tre sämsta reklamerna av totalt 20 som en enkätgrupp har utsett, förhåller sig till olika teorier om kommunikation, ljudlandskap, retorik och dramaturgi. I de reklamer som av enkätgruppen ansågs vara de bästa har producenterna med hjälp av retorik och dramaturgi bättre lyckats med att skapa ett förtroende hos lyssnaren, något som i analysen visar sig vara avgörande för hur reklamerna mottas. Vidare förefaller konstruerade ljudlandskap löpa större risk att skapa en egen bruskälla vilket komplicerar framförandet av budskapet. På samma sätt verkar reklamer med lågt eller otydligt informationsinnehåll ha svårare att förmedla en verklighetsbild som stämmer överens med den tänkta mottagarens och därför även svårare att skapa en förtroendeingivande karaktär till reklamen.

Este trabalho pretende mostrar os efeitos expressivos gerados pelo emprego das locuções adjetivas nos contos de Clarice Lispector. Para tanto, foi realizada a recolha de sintagmas nominais com locuções adjetivas das narrativas que compõem as duas primeiras obras de contos da autora: Laços de família e A legião estrangeira. Focando-se a análise semântico-estilística na descrição das personagens, as locuções adjetivas revelaram-se como um dos motores da prosa poética, contribuindo para a construção de um mundo ficcional introspectivo. Por meio das relações semânticas entre a locução adjetiva e o substantivo nuclear do sintagma nominal, há o engenho de imagens que demonstram a subjetividade das personagens e arquitetam uma escritura plena de recursos expressivos, entre eles a metáfora, a sinédoque e a antonomásia. / This study aims at detailing the expressive effects produced by the use of the adjective clauses in Clarice Lispectors short stories. This objective was achieved by the selection of noun syntagms containing adjective clauses taken from the narratives found in the first two pieces of work of the authors short stories: Laços de família and A legião estrangeira. By focusing on the semanticstylistic analysis of the description of the characters, the adjective clauses presented themselves as one of the driving engines of the poetic prose, thus contributing to the construction of an introspective fictional world. This can be explained by the semantic relastionships, divided up into the adjective clause and the nuclear subject of the noun syntagm, among which there is and inventive production of images that demonstrate the characters subjectivity and build up a writing full of expressive resources such as the metaphor, the synecdoche and the antonomasy.

A presente tese revisita uma velha questão: como a língua refere o mundo? Para tanto, apresenta um percurso teórico que vai da referência à referenciação, do referente ao objeto-do-discurso. Trata, assim, de questões relativas a léxico, semântica, sintaxe, pragmática, cognição, para analisar aspectos da textualidade, notadamente a coesão referencial, passeando principalmente por teorias funcionalistas e da Linguística Textual. The diploma thesis The Photo Album and Syntagm in the Web 2.0 Environment deals with problems of digital photographic collections shared in the web 2.0 environment. The thesis tries to express the basic principles of online photo albums referring to their characteristics, social function, method of arrangement and classification of individual photos. The aim is to verify the assumption that the photo album in the web 2.0 environment loses its narrative function and becomes a set of photos as modular fragments, whose sequence is made to be easily rearrangeable. The thesis is outlined in an interdisciplinary method, in examining of web photo albums it combines knowledge from studies of new media, sociology, philosophy and semiotics. The diploma thesis verifies validity of new medial theories of Lev Manovich in the environment of web digital photo albums and continues in his analyses of behaviour of users of the Instagram social network. As a part of the thesis there is also the own quantitative research, which with its form approximates to the sociological study of Pierre Bourdieu in 60s of the 20th century, devoted to social use of photography.
