The diploma thesis compares learning conditions in bilingual and regular classrooms in two primary schools from the perspective of educational equity. The first chapter summarizes available information on bilingual classes in the Czech public school system (their prevalence, licensing conditions, and financing). The second chapter describes tracking in the Czech basic school system and its implications for educational inequity. The final chapter of the theoretical part describes the main school factors influencing student achievement in the Czech Republic and abroad. The empirical part presents case studies of two public schools that run a CLIL class. The schools differ in terms of the administrator of the bilingual class, target language, location, and financing of the class. The research compares regular and CLIL classes at each school with regards to admission procedures, pupil characteristics, learning conditions, teacher expectations, teaching methods, and other aspects influencing student achievement. The results reveal that bilingual and regular classes at both schools differ most in terms of socioeconomic compositition and student achievement, giving the pupils of bilingual classes an unfair advantage. This dissertation work focuses on societal climate of an elementary school class. The work is dividend into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part concentrates mainly on the knowledge related to the climate, explanation of the terms such as social group, class and school climate, environment and atmosphere. I characterize the younger school age of examined pupils in detail. Then there are other factors that have an influence on class climate. The practical part concentrates on the research of the actual and ideal school climate both in cities and in the country. I also focus on the difference of perception of the climate between boys and girls. This research was conducted at schools in Jihlava region, specifically in the fifth grades. ?My Class Inventory? questionnaire was used for the research and the results are arranged in charts and graphs with a commentary.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to assess the climate in the classroom on the second substage of the elementary school in the context of the ongoing reform of the education system. In the theoretical section are explained basic concepts - for example social group, social roles, positions in groups, school climate, class climate. There are also described determinants of class climate, climate participants and there aren´t missing current approaches to study the class climate. The conclusion explains what is school reform. In the practical part are defined objectives and assumptions. There are further specified measurement method and the measurement process. At the end assumptions are authenticated.

This diploma thesis with the title The social role of pupils in the elementary school consists of two parts. There is a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part aims to illuminate further the issue of social roles in connection with other factors related to this topic. The most important chapter of the theoretical part is the chapter named Social role, status and position in which is the issue of social roles further described. Then there are discussed even specific social roles with which we may encounter in the primary school. The practical part is based on a survey using a variety of methods of students´ nominations. The aim of this work is to determine the rate of agreement in views of pupils in the class and their class teacher for the functioning of the class and social roles appearing there.

Diploma thesis Novice teacher deals with problems of beginning teacher which are coupled with the creation of class climate and pedagogic communication on the lower primary school. Theoretic part describes the job of a novice teacher, possible problems, which can affect creation of good class climate and related pedagogic communication. Thesis deals with issues of authority and discipline of pupils and communication with pupils and their parents. This document also shows different strategies, which leads to the good class climate. Research part analyzes real problematic situations of beginning teachers, which happened in practice. Analysis is done via method of interviews with 15 beginning teachers of the lower primary school. The aim of interviews is the beginning teacher's point of view on a class climate, authority and pupils discipline. Also to get problems which teachers feared, which fears came true and unexpected problems which happened. Research part shows several ways to solve and prevent problems of creating class climate and pedagogic communication. These ways are described in 8 pedagogic situations which are part of this work. The diploma thesis focuses on issues of the school admission to the 1st grade of the primary school. Nowadays this topic is more and more often discussed mainly from perspective of the different approach of many primary schools to checking out the school readiness during the school admission. This thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical and the practical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part describes the terms school readiness and its particular issues. Next chapter describes the school admission to the 1st grade; there we can find recommended methods of checking the school readiness and organization of the school entry. Next chapter focuses on postponement of school attendance and preparatory classes, which are aimed at those children who got the postponement of school attendance. The last chapter deals with the school entrance and first months spent in the school class, because it relates to the school readiness and school admission and therefore it logically closes the theoretical part. The practical part of the thesis presents case study of the school admission on six primary schools. The topic of my Diplome Thesis is Personal Education and its influence on the class climate at Primary School. In the theoretical part i describe the class climate, its participants, types, approaches and methods of its research. Thereafter, I explore how to optimize class climate. In the second part I describe the Personal and Social Edusation. I analyse the benefits of this croos- curricular topic, I split its contents on the topics and in conclusion, I analyse methodology principles and scheme of work with the aktivity of the Personal and Social Education. In the practical part I do the initial diagnosis of the climate in my class. It builds long- term interventions implemented activities of the Personal and Social Education, which is topped off with the final diagnosis. The comparison of both of the diagnostics, where it is showed a very positive shift, it illustrates the influence of Personal and Social Education in the class climate.
