Multiagentní modely kooperativních her / Agent-based models of cooperative games

Sedláček, Adam January 2013 (has links)
The diploma thesis describes design and creation of agent-based model of cooperative games and its subsequent analysis. The created model combines assumptions of game the-ory with other findings; it examines the dynamics of coalition formation and the influence of external and internal factors on this formation. The first theoretical part introduces the game theory and clarifies basic principles and con-cepts of N - player cooperative games. It evaluates the benefits and disadvantages of solu-tions introduced by this theory. The thesis further deals with multi-agent systems focused on agent-based models as an analytical and computational method for analyzing complex systems. There are also explained basic principles of agent-based modeling, including ap-proaches of their creation. Furthermore, there are presented distinctions between different types of agents, environments and models. The second practical part specifies assumptions and principles that are essential for the created multi-agent model. The diploma thesis describes the development of agent-based model of cooperative games by itself, including its characteristics and behavior. Final analysis of the created model clarifies impact of individual variables on the coalition for-mation process and confirms its ability to investigate given area.

Krize eurozóny z pohledu teorie optimálních měnových oblastí / The Eurozone Crisis from the Perspective of the Theory of Optimum Currency Areas

Sýkora, Filip January 2013 (has links)
The goal of this diploma thesis is to examine whether the theory of Optimum Currency Area (OCA) confirms the view that the economies of southern and northern member states of the European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) display different economic characteristics. The thesis strives to answer whether a hypothetical separation of current EMU into two separate monetary blocks makes sense from the perspective of the theory of OCA. First, the thesis examines the evolution of the theory of OCA with a special focus on suggested criteria and their usefulness for the analysis of hypothetical break-up of EMU. These criteria are subsequently divided into economic and political criteria and into centrally fulfilled and separately fulfilled criteria. The thesis then examines how the member states of the EMU cope with the proposed criteria.

Modely kapitálového trhu a jejich testování / Capital market models and tests of these models

Čechová, Lenka January 2014 (has links)
This thesis deals with the description and testing of the capital market models. It consists of an analysis of the most famous models such as the CAPM, the three-factor Fama-French model, the four-factor Fama-French-Carhart model and an alternative multi-factor model that includes the current relevant risk factors. In the first part, one can find the introduction to the capital market theory that is essential for the definition of model assumptions. The second part is dedicated to the description and construction of the models in reference to the relevant research papers. The last part of this thesis contains the regression model estimates, taking into account the data set of the fifteen most profitable IT companies. A portfolio of these firms is expected to exhibit a positive and statistically significant alpha. Daily portfolio returns in the period 1990 -- 2014 are regressed on risk factors of particular models. The aim of this thesis is to test whether the capital market models are valid for the long-term portfolio returns composed of the selected shares.

THE COMPOSITION OF GOVERNMENT EXPENDITURE AND ECONOMIC GROWTH / Struktura vládních výdajů a ekonomický růst

Všetičková, Simona January 2015 (has links)
This thesis examines the effect of the government expenditure structure on the economic growth. The objective is to determine which components of public expenditures are growth enhancing and which growth retarding. The theoretical model is set into the endogenous growth framework and describes the growth mechanism of productive and unproductive government expenditures. The growth impact of public spending composition is analysed for 18 European countries from 1996 to 2012. The empirical part is based on the panel data analysis. The empirical findings suggest that reallocating public resources towards education and health can promote growth. Whereas, higher expenditures on spending and defence are likely to be growth-retarding.

Mediální obraz Sametové revoluce z hlediska konspiračních teorií / The media image of the Velvet Revolution in terms of conspiracy theories

Mrnková, Kamila January 2021 (has links)
The topic of this diploma thesis is the media image of the Velvet Revolution related to various conspiracy theories. This view can be traced in Czechoslovak (and later Czech periodicals) on the basis of predetermined storylines. The specified period for the analysis of individual elements of these theories is from November 17, 1989 to about mid-1993, or earlier if the periodical ceased to be published. The period of the Velvet Revolution is a fundamental period of our republic, which at this time underwent an economic, political, social transformation… And few aspects of everyday life remained the same as before the revolution. Because this change took place so suddenly and so quickly, a lot of rumors, misinformation, and conspiracy theories began to spread to explain to some extent what had happened, especially if they did not like the officially recognized version of events. It is these alternative explanations of the events of that time that are the subject of this work. I will analyze them in a total of 7 titles, in Rudé právo, Lidové noviny, Studentské listy, Respekt, Květy, Špígl and Analýza 17 listopadu by Miroslav Dolejší. First, I will introduce the theoretical basis of concepts such as conspiracy theory, misinformation, ect., with which I will continue to work. I will also outline the...

Gamification elements are suitable for use in goal-setting context, as well as in a pursuit of fulfillment of three basic psychological needs. The research focuses on the use of smartphone apps for goal-setting purposes and influence of the set goals on increasing the average daily number of steps. In the sample of 100 participants, a statistically significant effect of goal on the average number of steps performance was observed during a 28-day period of the study. An influence of different goal difficulty on performance was also questioned, without significant effect on performance to have been found.
