A study of future development strategies for E-paper Display Industry

The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status of E-paper display industry by secondary data collection. The technology evolution of E-paper display, current status of supply-chain, and treats and weaknesses that E-paper display is facing will be covered in this paper. The conclusion and recommendation will be given through the analysis of secondary data. Based on the result of Diamond Theory analysis and of SWOT analysis¡AE-paper display is facing following threats: 1. The e-paper display industry is still in introduction stage, the cost of E-paper is higher than the cost of TFT-LCD display 2. High capital investment in Research and Develop 3. Hard to generate economic scale due to be lack of mainstream technologies 4. Different consumer needs between domestic market and oversea markets¡Athe product is hard to response the needs of oversea consumers. This would make vendors difficult to get the competitive edge. The recommendations of this study are listed below¡G1. E-paper display vendor could make more efforts in product development and consumer education to expand the market share and increase the return of investment 2. Expanding specific to prevent the mainstream specific switch overnight 3. Increase the demand and expand the market share 4. Get a hold of the different consumer needs in different market s and increase the demand of domestic markets actively.

Research on The Competition Strategies of Taiwan Lubricants Industry ¡VA Case Study of Company A

Lubricants is the most broadly used item in petrochemical products. It is used in all kinds of transportation vehicles like cars, trains, and aircraft, also factory operations like hydraulic system, rotary device and metalworking process. The lubricant consumption is directly related to local industrial status. Furthermore, the growth rate of national lubricants usage amount is directly related to domestic GDP growth rate. Relative to other Asia Pacific countries, the lubricant market has always been very competitive in Taiwan. According to investigation, there are more than 200 lubricant brands in Taiwan market, including the top two local brands, CPC and FPCC; and international brands like Shell, Mobil, BP, Castrol, NOP and Idemitsu. Besides these well-known brands, a great number of domestic small and medium lubricant companies supply the rest of the market by its own branding or OEM. The research collects and analyzes global lubricant market as well as that of China and Taiwan, interviewing Taiwan lubricant experts and people in the business to discuss current local lubricant industry and future outlook for market competition analysis. The study case is based on the leading brand of Taiwan lubricant market; the company already takes more than 30% of Taiwan market share and still hunger for better achievement. According to case study company's SWOT, industrial environment, future develop direction and trend, this research summarizes and indicates strategical guidance of lubricant market for the company.

The author searches for an answer to the question what fundamental factors, internal and international, determine the long-term growth of the two countries¡¦ bilateral trade and the often tensed bilateral interstate relation as well as how the latter influences economic development in the common cross-border areas. Applying the models of mathematical economics, the author carried out an econometric investigation to prove her hypothesis on the bilateral political relation affects bilateral trade.

Biotechnology Industry, a global new shining star in twenty first century, particularly in reagent inspection, has being paid more and more attention due to its low investment in research and development and barrier of entry requirement but easy to payback comparing to other Industries. Besides, strong sense of disease precaution and health care of people makes Reagent inspection market have more potential sine then as well. Medical diagnosis hitherto has seventy percent occupation of the whole reagent inspection market. Hospital and inspection center has shared seventy five percent of medical diagnosis reagent market; pharmacy and family consumer on the other hand is estimated to have thirteen percent annual growth in the future. Reagent for medical diagnosis use therefore has become essentially vital and the competition has been fierce. This study is divided into two parts. The first part applies much literature to assist to analyze current reagent inspection market for medical diagnosis use. Five Force analysis, Diamond theory and SWOT has been employed to inspect present competition mode of reagent inspection industry for medical use. The second part is the arrangement of interview that is the main aim of this thesis. To understand key managers¡¥ thinking of medical diagnosis reagent inspection industry through face to face interview to have more idea how to arrange and operate the business and comply with future competition. ABSTRACT The tourism and technology have the highest potential among all the industries for the 21st century. The tourism (services) industry is an industry without chimney which can replace the traditional industry. The city and county governments of Taiwan are using ¡§City marketing¡¨ to promote the tourism by combining the tourism resources and city activities in order to establish the ¡§city image / brand¡¨ and create the brand value. A strong brand value can accumulate reputation and loyalty for the city services by the confirmation of consumers. This paper will study the cultural city ¡§Tainan¡¨ which is developed earliest in Taiwan. With abundant historic relics, Tainan don¡¦t have unique advantages when comparing with Yilan county of northern Taiwan and Pingtung county of southern Taiwan. This study, The Strategy of Tourism Marketing for Tainan, will analyze (a) the tourism and city activities of Tainan, (b) the tourism of Taiwan, (c) the foreign visitor statistics, (d) the successful cases of domestic and foreign promotions in order to investigate the hobbies of touring and visitors. This study will adopt ¡§city marketing¡¨, ¡§bench marketing¡¨, and ¡§ basic theory of SWOT¡¨. For the ¡§city marketing¡¨, we will promote Tainan as a product. The advantages of ¡§bench marketing¡¨ are the learning of the outstanding strategy or process from the other business of tourism marketing which can verify the self executing conditions and the problems. The ¡§ basic theory of SWOT¡¨ can analyze the existing resources of Tainan and understand the ¡§Strengths/Opportunities¡¨ and ¡§Weaknesses/Threats¡¨ in order to verify the target and self-position. Economic Policy of China's Macro Adjustment and Controls Influence on Taiwan's Industry Development

National Bureau of Statistics of China (PRC) announced that the GDP of 2005 is 2255.7 billion dollars and China has replaced Italy as the world¡¦s sixth-largest economy, next to the United States, Japan, Germany, Britain and France. Taiwan economic development source is mainly from exports, the share of GDP as high as 49%. From the Second World War to 2000, Taiwan mainly exporting area is the United States. This situation had been changed in 2001 though. From the beginning of 2001, Taiwan¡¦s export to China surpassed Taiwan¡¦s export to the United States for the first time over the amount and the gap has become greater and greater. Department of Statistics, Ministry of Economic Affairs reported that Taiwan¡¦s exports to China were 28% (US$ 56.22 billion dollars) and only 15% (US$29.1 billion dollars) went to the United States. No matter how large of China¡¦s economic cooling policy is, it will make great impact on Taiwan inevitably due to the cross-strait economic and trade exchanges getting closer day by day. Confronting China¡¦s economic policy of macro adjustment and controls, how should Taiwan industry take response measures? The main purpose of China¡¦s macro-control policy is to control the domestic demand, and there fore the most direct impact on the target will be the Taiwan factory owners producing goods for domestic market. So, Taiwanese businessmen should plan before they move for keeping flexibility in business and have the ideas of the alternative market to reduce the business risks. The research methods of this study adopt social sciences method, including literature quoted language analysis, statistical analysis and SWOT analysis, so as to know the top-ranked industries of the output value in Taiwan, which are major industries like the electronics industry and the petroleum and petrochemical industry. After China implemented macro-control policy, how on earth does this influence make on Taiwan industries, the investment in China and business operations of Taiwanese businessmen? How do the Taiwan governing authorities, Taiwan factory owners and Taiwanese businessmen investing in China take response measures? In conclusion, the suggestions to our government for the response measures of China¡¦s macro-control policy: (1) Government should set up the statistics database from the aspects of the funds and market demand. (2) Government should provide the cross-strait economic and trade policy and information to the factory owners. (3) Government should continuously pay close attention to the growth of China¡¦s economic slowdown. (4) Government should relax restrictions on Taiwanese business financing in China through China-based Off-shore Banking Units (OBU) as soon as possible. (5) Government should remind Taiwanese businessmen of having more constructive strategies to add more footholds overseas. (6) Actively popularize the imperatives of the beneficial division of labor and business models to Taiwanese businessmen. (7) Government should provide the related information for Taiwanese businessmen, such as the laws and regulations of the investment and management in the market of Mainland China, the perspective and competition of all kinds of industries. (8) Government should constructively work out the good models of cross-strait business division The suggestions to Taiwanese businessmen: (1) Stop to listen and watch before investing. (2) Choose the investment or industry that you are familiar with and find the partners that you are rely on. (3) Have the sound and steady increase of investment. (4) Give a careful consideration to the transfer investment.

An Investigation to Approach the Mongolia SME Development: A Lesson from Taiwan¡¦s Key Success Factor

Over the past 50 years, the success of SME development in Taiwan has played an important role in the economic growth, and even today, many developing countries are interested in learning from Taiwan¡¦s experience. In fact, SME development in Taiwan has made remarkable contributions to the expanding of foreign trade, the strengthening of market competitiveness, the boosting of national income, the creation of jobs opportunities, the balancing of regional development, and the influence on social stability. In this study, we first studied the key success factors in Taiwan¡¦s SME development through the review of related literature. Then, we attempted to find that the majority of scholars and experts had a common view of Taiwan¡¦s SME key success factors, which are concluded as social culture and psychology factors, historical and economic factors, and government policy factor. Secondly, we intended to make questionnaires from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and SME owners. The main purpose is to research for the opinions of three different parties on SME development in Mongolia, such as government roles, present situation, future development strategies, and opportunities to learn from Taiwan¡¦s experience and successful development factors. Here were 120 responses received at the end of this survey. The data were analyzed by SPSS software using descriptive statistics, one way ANOVA, Pearson¡¦s correlation, and factor analysis. The results showed that there were significant differences between the three organizations. In addition, this research tried to make an effort to suggest future SME development strategies in Mongolia on the basis of external and internal environment analyses using a SWOT model. Finally, on the basis of above results, we proposed several policy recommendations for relevant organizations that get lessons from Taiwan¡¦s experience and revealed some key success factors in SME development into the ground of Mongolia.

The key factors analysis to transform the local traditional machining business into the international aerospace industry

In the past, due to the duplication technology and mass production, the industries in Taiwan had the chance to grow rapidly. But because of the high strength at a low cost, China has become a world factory in recent years and Taiwan can no longer keep the leading position in manufacturing. The shortened product lifespan certainly plays an important role. Taiwan is now facing a challenge of maintaining the competitiveness and sustainability. Each enterprise faces different threats in business environment, and the solutions they carried out would make a great impact on the applied strategies. The quantitative and SWOT methods were used in this study in order to analyze the advantages, disadvantages, opportunities and threats they faced in period of transition; how they reacted under influence of company culture and resources was also explored and it is hoped that the correct transforming timing, direction and strategy can then be made. HY Company was the subject of the case study. Their investment was doubled after the transformation because the expensive components and equipments are required for aerospace applications and safety is the main concern for production. Special quality control and production process both have to be well monitored. Staff trainings are conducted constantly. However, the cost structure or management system is facing huge challenge. According to the analysis of Boeing, aerospace industry will keep on growing in the coming 15 years. It undoubtedly is the best opportunity to transform the local traditional machining business into the international aerospace industry. It is hoped that the systematic assessment method can help the business owner to make the correct decisions and possess the unique competitive advantage, such as applying the high efficient management system to manufacture products that cannot be reproduced and the reliable quality as well as the stable delivery can provide an un-replaceable value, hence. this is the key factors of making a successful transformation.
