Zdravé stárnutí v kontextu ošetřovatelské péče / Healthy aging in the context of nursing care

RADOVÁ, Ludmila January 2014 (has links)
Healthy Ageing Programme is a concept which should have a significant influence on every resident in the countries where population median age has been quickly increasing. This topic of healthy ageing is the key issue of the given Master´s Diploma Thesis. At the present, our country is involved not only in several smaller-scale regional programmes focused on lives of seniors but also in the events of European importance. If we want to provide our seniors with a quality life in all aspects, it is necessary to encourage promoting Healthy Ageing Programme. The wide scope of activity is thus open, especially for nurses. The first objective develops the approach of seniors in the selected health-care facilities to healthy ageing. The second objective introduces the approach of a client before retirement age to the healthy ageing principles. Finally, the third objective specifies the role of general practice nurses in their support of clients before retirement age in their healthy ageing. Research questions included the following issues: the approach of a client at the age before retirement to the healthy ageing principles and the role of a general practice nurse and her support of the abovementioned clients. The given research also develops one hypothesis regarding the fact that personal objectives will change depending on barriers. Both qualitative and quantitative research was used in the given Diploma Thesis. An in-depth interview was conducted during the survey. Additional information was obtained on the basis of an opinion poll. Two research groups were used for the interview: the first one consisted of 11 respondents from the general practitioner´s outpation departments, the second research group consisted of 6 nurses working for the aforementioned departments. The total number of 150 respondents from the designated health-care facilities was selected for the survey during which they were answering the research questions. As a result, a large number of useful information was obtained. The clients' approach can be divided into several groups: leisure activities, education, workload, prevention and medical examinations, regimen, community nursing care, healthy ageing. The key roles of a nurse should take into consideration the following aspects: healthy ageing from the nurse´s point of view, prevention and geriatric nurse at the outpatient department, community nursing care, health support of the patients provided by a nurse. Information obtained from the interviews were interconnected and often corresponded with each other. Research questions are also followed by the given results. A nurse has a significant role in the area of education, provision of necessary information to the clients, promotion of prevention programmes informing the clients about the solution to their problems. The motivation of clients before retirement age is also crucial because it is at this age when people can influence their life, its length and quality. The survey also observes the general perception of people of an old age and changes in their point of view with age. The information collected from this survey may be also used in different studies in order to improve both quality of nursing care and motivation of the clients before their retirement.

Geriatrická léčebná rehabilitace / Geriatric curative rehabilitation

BAUDYŠOVÁ, Petra January 2007 (has links)
The objective of the Thesis is to coherently process the topic on grounds of a survey in order to provide utility value for relatives of a permanently or temporarily helpless senior. The theoretical part concentrated on presentation of suitable rehabilitation methods and techniques during stay in a traumatologic department, problems of a hospitalized senior, institutional provision of subsequent rehabilitation in available medical facilities, compensation aids and fall prevention. I have performed the survey on grounds of direct hidden observation, interview and experiment {--} use of a sign language in ergotherapy. Problems of hospitalized seniors are solution of subsequent care, unpreparedness for old-age, inconvenient housing due to barriers, associated diseases, worsened adaptation to stereotype changes (e.g. necessary change of compensation aids facilitating motion).

BÍLKOVÁ, Marie January 2011 (has links)
This dissertation concerning the theme "A comparison of the Contact and HRQOL concept in clients of nursing/old people´s homes" consists of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part firstly defines in detail the concept of the quality of life and the quality of life related to health (HRQoL ? health related quality of life). It also describes various methods of its evaluation. The next charter deals with the problems of aging and changes which arise with increasing age and are associated with a deteriorating health condition, as well as with situations and circumstances which may reset in a chase in the perception of the quality of life. The dissertation takes a closer look at the stay of elderly in some institutions for the elderly. The theoretical part compares the results obtained from elderly clients in an old people?s home using standardised SF-36 and Contact questionnaires. The SF-36 questionnaire is designed to measure the quality of life related to health and the Contact questionnaire serves to ascertain the frequency of contact between family and friends ant he elderly client. Data from both questionnaires were evaluated statistically and drawn up in the form of tables and graphs. This research showed a reduced perception of the quality of life of clients living in old people?s homes compared with the standard European population. In most domains of the quality of life there was no significant difference between clients with various frequency of contact with family and friends, and no difference was found n the evaluation of the quality of life between men and women.

Návrh domova pro nemajetné a problematické seniory. / Project of house for indigent and problematic seniors.

LIŠKOVÁ, Kateřina January 2011 (has links)
At present, the whole world has one characteristic feature in common, which is an increasing number of people reaching a high age. In this respect, the Czech Republic is no exception. As a result, the percentage of senior citizens is also steadily increasing. Most of these senior citizens will be threatened by a low income, especially those who live alone. At present there is no statistics that would show the numbers of senior citizens in specific age groups concerning the amount of pensions, and there is no statistics that would show the numbers in territorial units at lower levels than regions. It is surprising that, with the present alarming prognoses of the numbers of senior citizens, statistical data concerning pensions are not analysed in detail. Some of them rank in the group of poor and problematic senior citizens, as a result, for instance, of paying a low social insurance of failing to pay any social insurance at all. It will be necessary to create a network of services for low-income senior citizens that will guarantee their primary needs. The objective of this thesis was to carry out a monitoring of the need of services for low-income senior citizens, and a proposal of a possible provider of these services. The methodological process included a content and secondary data analysis of socio-demographic indicators about the population of senior citizens. The collection of primary data was conducted in the form of a semi-controlled interview with providers of social services for senior citizens. The target set consisted of senior citizens in the administrative area of the municipality with extended authority of České Budějovice, and the set subject to study consisted of providers of social services for senior citizens. The results of my diploma thesis have confirmed that a service for low-income senior citizens in České Budějovice is not available. My diploma thesis will constitute a basis for the Council of the City of České Budějovice when dealing with the questions concerning services for low-income senior citizens.

En retrospektiv studie av elitgolfspelares upplevelser av karriärövergången från junior till senior / A retrospective study of elite golfers' experiences of the career transition from junior to senior

Carlsson, Otto, Emond, Helene January 2021 (has links)
The career transition from junior to senior (JST) is described as the most difficult step during an athlete's career, and it is a critical step that many athletes fail to get through (Stambulova, 2009). Stambulova also highlights in her study that a team athlete's experiences of career transitions can be influenced by teammates. Hence, in this study, the focus was on individual athletes, in this case elite golfers, in order to gain a deeper understanding of how the career transition is experienced on a personal level. The purpose of the study was to explore golfers' retrospective experiences of the career transition from junior to senior. The holistic career development model (Wylleman, 2019) and the career transition model (Stambulova, 2009) were used in the study as a theoretical framework. The study was conducted through semi-structured interviews of nine elite golfers aged 19-31 (M=25.44, SD=3.74). Three women and six men participated in the study. All interviewees had successfully completed the JST, as all participants, at the time when the study was conducted, played golf on the highest tours both nationally and internationally. The interview result was analyzed by thematic analysis according to Braun et al. (2016). The analysis was divided into four categories based on the career transition model (Stambulova, 2009). The four categories were as follows; elite players' perceived demands during the transition from junior to senior, their perceived resources, barriers and finally their coping strategies. According to these categories, sub-categories and themes were then formed. The authors analyzed the results on the basis of a deductive approach, with elements of an inductive approach in the development of the results' themes. The results of the study show an increase in requirements during the career transition. It also shows which resources were contributing, and which barriers emerged. To deal with the barriers, the results show which coping strategies were used, which together with the resources contributed to a successful transition for the participants. The result has the potential to give elite juniors, but also coaches, a wider view of how increased knowledge of JST can contribute to an effective and successful transition. The results of the interviews were then discussed in accordance with the theoretical frame of reference and previously presented research. Studiens resultat påvisar enkravökning under karriärövergången.
