Vliv změny posturální stability na sílu respiračních svalů / Influence of postural stability changes on respiratory muscle strenght

Dařinová, Jitka January 2015 (has links)
The presented thesis is focused on the influence of postural stability changes on respiratory muscle strength. The aim of this thesis was to determinate whether the respiratory muscle strength will change during the increased demands on postural stability, and if so, then how exactly. The theoretical part summarized the findings about the diaphragm and its postural stabilizing function, about the connection between breathing and postural control as well as about the influence of body position on respiratory muscle strength. In the practical part of the thesis, the values of the maximal respiratory mouth pressures were measured (PI max and PE max) on 21 healthy subjects ranging from 20 to 26 years of age using the spirometer in three postural situations - standing, standing on the balance surface and standing on the balance surface with no visual control. Throughout the whole group, there were no significant statistical differences ( p ≥ 0,05 ) in the outcome values of the measured postural situations. Two trends were observed in the changes of values of PI max and PE max. During the increased demands for postural stability the value of PI max was higher for 29% and lower for 71% of the measured individuals. The value of PE max was higher for 33% and lower for 67% of the measured individuals. This...

Stanovení nových referenčních hodnot maximálních inspiračních a expiračních tlaků a hodnot PO.1 u normální populace ve věkovém rozmezí 16 až 17 let / Definition of new referential values of maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressures and P0.1 values in normal population of the 16 - to - 17 age range

Kálalová, Tereza January 2014 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to define norms for inspiratory (Pimax) and expiratory (Pemax) pressures and mouth occlusion pressure (P0.1) in healthy white population of the 16-17 age group in the Czech Republic, specifically the capital city of Prague and its close vicinity. Furthermore, this work aspires to ascertain whether there is a correlation between the respiratory pressures, P0.1 and selected anthropometric and pulmonary values. In order to define the norms, 79 children were tested, including 41 boys and 38 girls 16 to 17 years old. After establishing the subjects' case histories, anthropometric, spirometric inspiratory, expiratory and forced vital capacity measurements were made. The study defined the norms of respiratory pressures and P0.1 in 16 to 17-year-old boys and girls, thus achieving its main goal. Furthermore, a difference was found between the average measured Pimax and Pemax values for boys and girls, with the boys showing higher values comparing with the girls. The study did not ascertain a correlation between respiratory pressures, P0.1 and selected anthropometric values (age, height, weight, BMI, BSA). No correlation was found between respiratory pressures and static pulmonary volumes. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Kvantifikace mechanismů hydraulického odstranění okují / Quantification of Hydraulic Descaling Mechanisms

Hrabovský, Jozef January 2012 (has links)
The issue of descaling is an important part of the forging and heat treatment of steel and semi products of steel production. Rising of new information and study of this process can increase efficiency and improve the surface quality after descaling. This thesis is focused on the mechanisms of the high pressure hydraulic descaling qualification and study of the chemical compounds of which the scales grown. To achieve all goals of this work and to get a comprehensive view of descaling process, few experimental measurements and numerical analyses were performed. All experimental measurements were focused on obtaining data about fundamental parameters and effects of the hydraulic descaling. The data obtained from measurements were applied to numerical analyses, which aimed to discover a deeper relation and to confirm the experimental results. This thesis can be divided into two main parts. The first part is devoted to parameters of the water jet study. The main studied characteristics of the high pressure hydraulic water jet were heat transfer coefficient and impact pressure at different modes such as standard or pulsating water jet. Experimentally measured data of these parameters were applied in numerical analyses. The numerical analyses were focused on studying the impact of the water jet parameters on the stresses in the oxide scale layers. A further water jet analysis was focused on the influence of the individual parts of the hydraulic system (such as water chamber or stabilizer) on its characteristics. In this part different types of the water chambers in combination with different types of stabilizers on the impact pressure values were investigated. These measurements were supported by fluid flow analysis through the hydraulic system. The second part of this work was focused on getting mechanical properties of the oxide scales from specimens prepared from standard structural steel and specimens from silicon steel. In this thesis, the influence of various parameters and characteristics was studied on these two types of steel. Mechanical properties of oxide scale structures were carried out by the Small Punch Test method. To obtain the fundamental mechanical properties such as Young´s modulus, yield strength and ultimate strength, material parameters based on the measured data were optimized. The whole work was carried out in order to get valuable and comprehensive results about high pressure hydraulic descaling process and influencing factors as well as about oxide scales themselves.

Možnosti ovlivnění krevního tlaku při vertikalizaci pacientů s míšní lézí / Possibilities of influencing blood pressure in spinal cord injury patients during verticalization

Věchetová, Tereza January 2012 (has links)
Orthostatic hypotension is a common problem for individuals with spinal cord lesions, especially in the acute period after spinal cord injury. The first part of this study deals with the theoretical analysis of the pathophysiology of cardiovascular control after spinal cord injury, the definition of orthostatic hypotension and its inclusion within the classification of the syncopal conditions. An important part of the theoretical part is the management of orthostatic hypotension, which brings non-pharmacological therapeutic approaches, and marginally pharmacology, to decrease the severity of this condition. The experimental part focuses on testing of a group of probands with spinal cord injury (11 quadriplegics) on two different types of tilt tables according to the same protocol. The first tilt table is a standard; the second one is Erigo, tilt table with integrated robotic mechanism, which moves the legs to simulate walking. The parameters, such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and the occurrence and severity of pre-synkopal symptoms, were compared. The study is based on the assumption that passive leg movement, which is mediated by the Erigo, will maintain venous return, cardiac output, and a significant drop in blood pressure and development of orthostatic hypotension,...

Hemodynamická optimalizace u jaterních resekcí / Hemodynamic optimalization in hepatic recection

Zatloukal, Jan January 2017 (has links)
Lowering of central venous pressure in hepatic surgery is nowadays widely recommended and used procedure. Low central venous pressure anesthesia is associated with decreased blood loss and improved clinical outcome. There are several approaches how to reach low central venous pressure. Till now none of them is recommended as superior in terms of patient safety and clinical outcome. Concurrently there is still debate if to use the low central venous pressure anesthesia principle or if it could be replaced with a principle of anesthesia with high stroke volume variation (or another dynamic preload parameter) with the use of a more sophisticated hemodynamic monitoring method. Results of our study didn't show any significant difference between two approaches used for reduction of central venous pressure, but suggest that the principle of low central venous pressure anesthesia could be possibly replaced by the principle of high stroke volume variation anesthesia which presumes the use of advanced hemodynamic monitoring. Proudění biologických tekutin v reálných geometriích / Flow of biological fluids in patient specific geometries

Švihlová, Helena January 2017 (has links)
1 Abstract: Time-dependent and three-dimensional flow of Newtonian fluid is studied in context of two biomechanical applications, flow in cerebral aneurysms and flow in stenotic valves. In the first part of the thesis, the computational meshes obtained from the medical imaging techniques are used for the computation of hemodynamic parameters associated with the rupture potency of the cerebral aneurysms. The main result is the computation within twenty geometries of aneurysms. It is shown that the aneurysm size has more important role in wall shear stress distribution than the fact whether the aneurysm is ruptured or unruptured. The second part of the thesis is addressed to the flow in stenotic valves. It is shown that the method cur- rently used in medical practice is based on assumptions which are too restrictive to be apply to blood flow in the real case. The full continuum mechanics model is presented with physiologically relevant boundary conditions and it is shown that results are consistent with measured data obtained from literature. Then we focus on the obtaining the pressure field from the velocity field. The presented method provides more accurate pressure approximation than commonly used Pressure Poisson Equation. The last chapter of the thesis is dedicated to Nitsche's method for treating slip boundary...
