Diagnostika kardiovaskulárního systému metodou CVS / The CVS method as a diagnostic of the cardiovascular system

Procházka, Marek January 2016 (has links)
Title: The CVS method as a diagnostic of the cardiovascular system Objective: The aim of this thesis is to introduce the CVS (cardiovascular system) method as a potential diagnostic method to detect the overloading of the heart muscle, and thereby increased susceptibility to subsequent myocardial infarction and hypertension. Method: This thesis presents a data analysis on different groups of people, which were provided to us during the development of the CVS method. These were several groups of healthy individuals (athletes) and three groups of patients suffering from problems with the cardiovascular system (colaps conditions, obesity and hypertension). The groups were measured for their values of the heart rate and blood pressure at rest and during exercise on a bicycle ergometer. Subsequently the energy required to pump blood to the heart muscle and climbing speed pulse pressure depending on the heart rate was evaluated. Results: The CVS method shows differences in the energy consumption of the heart muscle in various groups of people. The results showed that at the same level of exercise the load of the heart muscle is higher by patients than by athletes. Considering the samples that we had available, the CVS method proved its diagnostic value when evaluating the overall effectiveness of the...

Vítězky a poražené. Obrazy žen v románech Theodora Fontana Frau Jenny Treibel a Effi Briest / Winners and Losers. Images of Women in Theodor Fontane's Novels Frau Jenny Treibel and Effi Briest

Jansová, Iva Bernadetta January 2019 (has links)
This Master's thesis deals with female characters of the socially critical novel Frau Jenny Treibel by Theodor Fontane, in order to find out whether the heroines are satisfied in their social roles or whether they try to challenge the social norms, and what role their social background and education play in this matter. Furthermore, we ask what life goals these women pursue and how successful they are in fulfilling them. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter sketches Fontane's biography with the emphasis on the importance of his numerous friendships with women and his ambivalent relationship to female emancipation. Based on literature research, the second chapter introduces poetic realism focusing on Fontane's specific position in it - as a critical realist with elements of modernity. The third, longest chapter, contains the analysis and interpretation of the individual female characters of the novel. We have found, that regardless their social class and education, the heroines live under social conventions, according to which their main goal is an advantageous marriage, functioning at the same time as the measure of their success. The two protagonists, the representative of the intellectual bourgeoisie Corinna, and the more experienced representative of the newly rich...

Tvorba biogenních aminů v mase vybraných druhů ryb / The formation of biogenic amines in flesh of selected fish species

MATĚJKOVÁ, Kateřina January 2013 (has links)
The thesis deals with the use and effectiveness of some less common methods of conservation of fish meat. The formation of biogenic amines in meat is observed in connection with the non-traditional preservative methods. Amines can serve as indicators of protein degradation. The quality of fish was considered in connection with the increasing content of selected biogenic amines (putrescine, cadaverine, spermidine, spermine, 2-fenylathylamine, histamine, tyramine and tryptamine). Ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) was used as the method for determination of biogenic amines. Amines were derivatized by dansylchloride before their UPLC separation. The fish flesh was vacuum-packed. Samples were stored for several weeks in a thermostat at the selected storage temperature after the application of selected preservative technique. Beta-irradiation and high hydrostatic pressure were used for the preservation of fish flesh. Control samples were not exposed to the â-irradiation and high pressure. The organoleptic properties were studied for all samples (smell/odor, insight and shape). Beta-irradiation was applied to fish meat of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Both these species of freshwater fish are economically significant. Carp and trout are the species being mostly consumed in the Czech Republic. Fish meat is considered to be provided the flesh is fresh. A testing series of samples was created with common carp to determine the appropriate dose of â-irradiation. The maximum permissible dose of irradiation for fish meat is 3 kGy. Fish samples were exposed this dose in the first experiment. The dose of irradiation was reduced in following experiments based on the experience from the initial experiment. The doses of 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0 and 2.0 kGy were applied to rainbow trout. The value of 0.75 kGy of â-irradiation or higher (1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 kGy) prolonged the shelf life of fish meat, which was stored for three months (98 days). Prolonging of the shelf life of fish meat to approximately 98 days at 3.5 °C is redundant from technical point of view. For that reason lower doses 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75 kGy were tested in more detail in the repeated experiment with carp meat. Lower doses of â-irradiation are considered to be more acceptable and-at the same time-sufficiently effective for delaying the beginning of degradation processes. 6 High hydrostatic pressure was applied to meat of common carp (Cyprinus carpio), rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and pike (Exos lucius). Pike is another very popular kind of freshwater fish. Pike flesh is very tasty, but in spite of this, pike is not so much popular among consumers compared to carp and trout. The cause is its high price. Samples of pike were stored at standard temperature 3.5 °C and also at higher temperature 12 °C (unlike experiments with â-irradiation). Lower temperature of storage (3.5 °C) followed the conditions of storing of fish meat in industrial refrigeration facilities and households. The high pressure might not be sufficient for preservation at higher storage temperatures. This assumption was based on available information. Samples were treated by high pressure and stored at both 3.5 °C and 12 °C to verify this assumption. Higher temperature simulated either failure of refrigeration equipment or unsuitable store temperature of meat. In all species selected freshwater fish two levels of high pressure were applied ? 300 and 500 MPa. Both levels had significantly reduced the formation of biogenic amines, especially in samples stored at 3.5 °C. At this temperature, the effect of 300 and 500 MPa delayed start of degradation processes in fish meat by 3?4 weeks. At 12 °C and 500 MPa, high pressure extended the sustainability of meat by no more than one week. 500 MPa is effective treatment at the lower temperature of 3.5 °C. High pressure is not reliable preservative techniques at higher temperature.

Náhlá srdeční zástava a význam kapnometrie v kardiopulmonální resuscitaci / A sudden cardiac arrest and use of capnometry in cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Pokorná, Milana January 2011 (has links)
The study is focused on advanced life support (ALS) performed by rescue team physicians in an out-of-hospital setting. The first part of the study analyzes diagnostic possibilities and correctness of assumed aetiology of the sudden cardiac arrest during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the field. It introduces an original method of "Crosscheck Tables" and applies this method to 211 cases of CPR provided by physicians of the Emergency Care Service. The study demonstrates that significantly misleading conclusions can result from a global analysis of a set of cases. It stresses importance of diagnostic analyses applied to individual cases. The second part of the study concentrates on changes in PETCO2 level as related to the return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC - Return of Spontaneous Circulation) as opposed to the circulation fully dependent on chest compressions. The study demonstrates that in constantly ventilated patients undergoing CPR in an out-of-hospital setting, PETCO2 is significantly higher (about 10 mmHg) after ROSC than before ROSC. It demonstrates that a sudden increase in PETCO2 exceeding 10 mmHg is likely to indicate the moment of ROSC. The study also support a view that steadily low levels of PETCO2 values (<10 mmHg) indicate a low chance for a successful resuscitation outcome. Key...

Sledování aktivity dolního jícnového svěrače u zdravých jedinců v různých posturálních pozicích / Activity of lower oesophageal sphincter in healthy patients in various postural positions

Beranová, Kateřina January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to describe information about GERD, its etiology, anatomy, pathology, treatment options and rehabilitation in patients with GERD. Lower oesophageal sphincter and antireflux barrier. The study was approved by the ethics committee. 30 probands were included in the study and their health status was verified using the Health Related Quality of Life questionnaire. A manometric catheter was inserted, proband was instructed to maintain various postural positions. Lying supine with lower limbs elevated above the surface, lying supine with lower limbs elevated above the surface with head fixated manualy, sitting and standing position, load in the center of gravity 3/6/9 kg, load outside the center of gravity 3/6/9 kg, lifting of the office chair. It has been shown that LES pressure increases in all postural positions compared to resting pressure. The positions activate the diaphragm to demonstrate the postural function of the diaphragm. The most significant change in LES pressures was in the postural position of lying supine with lower limbs elevated above the surface, the LES resting pressure of 20.34mmHg changed to the pressure of LES 40.92mmHg. Clinical experience and studies have shown that patients with GERD have disposition for respiratory and / or vertebrogenic difficulties....

Porovnání hydraulických vlastností kavernózně zvětralých hornin do tvarů tafoni a voštin / Comparison of hydraulic characteristics of cavernous weathering rocks forming tafoni and honeycombs

Studencová, Alžběta January 2017 (has links)
Forms of cavernous weathering - tafoni and honeycombs - belong to long-term investigated and discussed phenomena in geology. The reason for the difference in size between few centimetres- long honeycombs and the several-metres-long tafoni has not been yet studied. In my master thesis I compared the hydraulic properties of rocks with developed honeycombs and tafoni. The research consists of field measurements (measurement of suction pressures and capillary water absorption using Karsten tube) and laboratory measurements on tafoni and honeycomb samples (retention curve measurement, capillary water absorption, water vapour diffusion rate and saturated hydraulic conductivity). I have been studing honeycombs from various sites in the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin and tafoni from three different sites: Carbon Arkoses near Kralupy nad Vltavou, Cambrian Sandstone in Petra (Jordan) and Tunnel Spring Tuff in Crystal Peak (Utah). The measurements showed that values of suction pressure are far higher inside tafoni than inside honeycombs. This observation corresponds to different retention curves of studied rocks: steeper retention curve for honeycomb's quartz sandstone than for fine-grained arkosic sandstones to arkoses with tafoni. In the other part of my research I have compared the properties of hydrophobic...
