Transportval vid tjänsteresor är en viktig fråga då universitet och högskolor var en av de tre myndigheter med högst mängd utsläpp från tjänsteresor för året 2017. Det är särskilt viktigt för Linnéuniversitetet som är miljöcertifierat och har en Mötesoch Resepolicy för att minska sina utsläpp. Syftet med denna studie var att ta reda på vilka faktorer som påverkar universitetsanställdas val av transportsätt vid tjänsteresor samt vad som krävs för att målgruppen ska välja de mer miljövänliga alternativen. Metoden som användes var en webbenkät i kombination med en conjointanalys för att få både kvantitativa och kvalitativa resultat. Den yrkesgrupp som var mest representerad av respondenterna var Teknisk- och Administrativ personal vars syfte med tjänsteresan främst var möten och konferenser. Resultaten från studien visade att de avgörande faktorerna för respondenterna var tid, kostnad, miljö, pålitlighet och inverkan på fritid. Det som respondenterna ansåg krävdes för att de skulle välja tåg över flyg var möjlighet till flextid under restiden, att övernattningar beviljas av universitetet samt förbättrad kollektivtrafik. / Transport choice for business travel is an important matter since universities and colleges were one of the top three authorities with the highest amount of emissions from business travels for the year of 2017. It is especially important for the Linnaeus University which has an environmental management certificate and has a Meeting-and Travel policy to reduce their emissions. The purpose of this study was to find out the factors which affect the choice of transport on business trips for university employees as well as what is required for the target group to choose the more environmentally friendly alternatives. The method that was used was a web survey in combination with a conjoint analysis to get both quantitative and qualitative results. The results from the study showed that the deciding factors for the respondents were time, cost, environment, reliability and impact on leisure time. The occupational group which was most represented by the respondents was Technical- and Administrative personnel whose purpose with the business trip mainly was meetings and conferences. That which the respondents deemed as required for them to choose train over plane was the possibility for flex during the travel time, for overnight stays to be granted by the university as well as improved public transport.

Detta är en kvalitativ undersökning om vilken roll MARPOL-konventionen spelar för transportköpare. Vilken miljöhänsyn de tar vid val av transportör och till vilken grad de känner till MARPOL-konventionen och det arbete som besättningen ombord på fartygen utför för att leva upp till dess krav. Det studerade problemet behandlarförståelsen för att miljöarbete, inte bara inom sin egen arbetssektor, utan även inom andra arbetssektorer, är en viktig förståelse för att uppnå ett stort samarbete för miljön.Undersökningen är baserad på en semi-strukturerade metod av öppna intervjuer med fem svenska företag som handlar med varor internationellt och är transportköpare. Undersökningen visar på att transportkostnad på lång sikt, miljöarbete inom transportbolaget och pålitligheten gällande de avsatta leveranstiderna samt den tidigare arbetsrelationen mellan transportköpare och transportbolag, är de faktorer som spelar störst roll vid val av transportör för transportköpare. Samt att ett företag av fem intervjuade, känner till MARPOL-Konventionen och lite av dess arbetskrav som ställs på besättningen ombord på fartygen. Allt arbete med denna undersökning och utvecklingen av dess rapport är genomfört av arbetets författare. / A qualitative study regarding what role the MARPOL-Convention plays for the costumers of transport service. What regard of environment they take in consideration for their choice of carrier and to what degree they are aware of the MARPOL-Convention and the work the crew put in on board vessels, in order to live up to the requirements of the MARPOL-Convention. The problem deals with the understanding of the environmental work, not only within their own labor sector, but also in other labor sectors, is an important understanding to achieve a great partnership for the environment. The survey is based on a semi-structured method of open interviews with five Swedish companies that are dealing in goods internationally and are costumers of transport services. This survey shows that; long term transport costs, environmental work within the transport company, the reliability regarding the assigned delivery times and the earlier working relationship between shippers and carriers, play the greatest role for the choice of carrier. And that one out of five respondents are aware of the MARPOL-Convention, and some of the work it requires of the crew on board the vessels.

After the breakthrough of the personal car in the early 20th century many cities were planned with the idea that every person should use their own car for transportation within the city. Highways were built, splitting neighborhoods straight through. However, car is a very space inefficient mode of transportation, and the roads and parking lots make other modes of transportation unpleasant. Therefore, it is a bad mode of transportation in cities, where space is valuable and an efficient land use prominent to create a safe, well-functioning and living city. This essay investigate what factors are most important when redesigning roads to encourage a usage of more sustainable modes of transportations, such as biking, walking and public transportation. By collecting previous studies, six themes (travel time, barrier, attractiveness, safety, security, acceptance) were chosen to be used in a thematic analysis of a traffic investigation by the consultant firm Trivector ordered by the council of Umeå. The traffic investigation analyzes how to rebuild a previous thoroughfare avenue through the city center to a more livable place. The purpose is to prioritize sustainable mode of transportation and minimize the number of cars using the road (but still allowing them to). The thematic analysis concluded that the traffic investigation was mostly suggesting measures that focused on changing the travel time between the means of transportation (in favor of biking and public transportation). It also suggested a lot of measures to increase the attractiveness of the roads for people walking. Traffic security was treated mostly by mentioning its importance. Safety concerns was regarded as something that was improved by the attractiveness of the area, since a more crowded area makes the place feel safer. Acceptance was not mentioned at all in the investigation.
