Rezidenční mobilita obyvatel Prahy se zaměřením na etnické menšiny / Residential Mobility of Prague Population with Focus on Ethnic Minorities

Přidalová, Ivana January 2013 (has links)
Since 1989, Czechia has undergone many changes. Increasingly important part of Czech society is represented by foreign inhabitants, who - most often - move to Prague. The capital city is target of economic migrants but also of those foreigners who seek a new home. The aim of the diploma thesis is to get to know spatial patterns of migration of population in Prague between 1992 and 2011 and to explain geographical causes of migration. The first part of the thesis discusses theoretical approaches dealing with mobility, especially with migration and residential mobility. Next chapter introduces development of migration of population in Prague and summarizes basic findings about the most numerous groups of foreigners living in the capital city. Based on data from registers of migration, general trends in population migration are identified, then, migration activity of Prague inhabitants by citizenship is analyzed. Case study of urbanistic district Nové Butovice-západ in the final part of the thesis verifies, by triangulation of research methods, the reliability of statistical data on numbers and movement of foreigners in Prague and analyzes the influence of immigration of Russian citizens on changing social environment of the studied locality.

Zpracování klimatologických měření z experimentálních lokalit v Kyrgyzstánu a jejich synopticko-klimatologická interpretace / The Processing of Climatologic Records from Experimental Locations in Kyrgyzstan and the Synoptic-climatologic Interpretation Thereof

Sýkorová, Petra January 2016 (has links)
The Charles University Faculty of Science KFGG team took part in an intensive research in the area of Kyrgyz glacial lakes. The collecting of records from three meteorological stations in the locations of Kolor (2,700 m above sea level) and Adygine (3,500 and 3,800 meters above sea level) was part of the research. The aim of this thesis was to analyze the homogeneity of climatic data measured in experimental locations using the SNHT method (Standard Normal Homogeneity Test), process the data using general climatological processes, create a classification of circulation types for the area of interest using Jenkinson's and Collinson's method, and finally, to quantify the relationships between individual circulation types and the values of chosen climatic elements. The analysis results are homogenized climatic sets for the Adygine H station (3,800 m above sea level) and a summary of basic statistics and trends of climatic elements in the area. Furthermore, a catalogue of circulation types was created for the period from August 2007 to July 2011, and finally, the relationships between individual circulation types and manifestations of climate elements (air temperature, precipitation and global radiation). The results of this thesis may be used to identify the types connected with bursts of glacial...

Voltage stability limits for weak power systems with high wind penetration

Tamimi, Ala January 1900 (has links)
Doctor of Philosophy / Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering / Anil Pahwa / Shelli K. Starrett / Analysis of power system voltage stability has practical value in increasing wind penetration levels. As wind penetration levels increase in power systems, voltage stability challenges arise due to locating wind resources far away from load centers. This dissertation presents several different voltage stability methods for sizing new wind farms. Power system wind penetration levels depend on the available voltage stability margins (VSMs) of the existing power system and system load characteristics. Three new iterative methods have been developed to maximize wind penetration level in weak power systems based on systems’ VSMs. The first two methods use an iterative approach for increasing the size of each wind farm until reaching the collapse point. Wind farms with less negative impact on system VSMs are sized larger than others. A third wind farm sizing method has been developed using modal analysis in conjunction with the traditional voltage stability method (Q-V method). Wind farms are placed at buses in the power system which have the lowest negative impact on voltage instability modes (strong wind injection buses). By placing the wind farms at the strongest wind injection buses, higher amounts of wind power can be injected into the power system. To further increase wind penetration in weak power systems, two additional techniques are introduced and applied to the western Kansas power system. The first technique uses modes of voltage instability to place voltage support equipment like static var compensators at locations in the power system where they provide the needed reactive power support for increasing levels of wind penetration. The second technique uses the fact that wind patterns at a wind farm site may rarely allow the wind farm to produce its maximum capacity during the peak loading hours. Wind farm maximum sizes can be increased above their maximum voltage stable size limit without driving the power system into becoming voltage unstable. Preventing voltage collapse for the additional increases in wind farm sizes is accomplished by disconnecting some wind turbines inside the wind farm during critical times to reduce its power output to a voltage stable level.

The Possibility of Norm-Violation in Deontic Logics for Action Types : An Analysis of Bentzen's Action Type Deontic Logic and a New Semantics

Nygren, Karl January 2016 (has links)
In a recent paper, Bentzen proposes a semantically characterised logic called Action Type Deontic Logic, where normative concepts are applied to action expressions, rather than propositional statements. The logic offers solutions to many of the paradoxes of deontic logic. In particular, Bentzen's semantics solves many puzzles involving the interaction of permission with conjunction and disjunction. One of the reasons for these positive results is the assumption that agents always act according to norm. This assumption means that only agents with ideal behaviour are modelled; there is no possibility for norm-violation. In this thesis, proof techniques and decision procedures for Action Type Deontic Logic in the style of semantic tableau are investigated, and soundness, completeness and termination results are obtained. In order to account for the possibility of norm-violation, a new semantics based on a generalisation of Action Type Deontic Logic models is proposed. The new semantics keeps the possibility of norm-violation open, while many of the virtues of Action Type Deontic Logic remain.

Educational Modeling for Fault Analysis of Power Systems with STATCOM Controllers using Simulink

Brockhoeft, Tetiana 18 December 2014 (has links)
The analysis of power systems under fault condition represents one of the most important and complex tasks in power engineering. The study and detection of these faults are necessary to ensure that the reliability and stability of the power system do not suffer a decrement as a result of a critical event such as fault. The purpose of this thesis is to develop and to present an educational tool for students to model FACTS devices using Simulink. Furthermore, the development of this thesis provides the means for students to model different types of faults. The development is based on presenting a power system – the Test System - by its simplest form including generation, transmission, transformers, loads and STATCOM device as an example of the general FACTS devices. The thesis includes modeling of the Test System using Simulink and MATLAB program to produce the results for further analysis. The findings and development included in the thesis is intended to serve as an educational tool for students interested in the study of faults and their impact on FACTS devices. Students may use the thesis as the building block for developing models of larger and more complex power systems using Simulink and MATLAB programs for further study of impacts of FACTS devices in power systems.

Påverkar olika examinationsformer olika stressnivå och olika prestationsmotivation? / The effect of assessment types onstudents’ perceived stress and achievement motivation

Hussain, Sanna, Kareliussén, Jimmy January 2016 (has links)
I studien deltog 112 universitetsstudenter, 87 kvinnoroch 25 män. / A cross-sectional study based on a survey was handed out to studentsat a university in a Swedish city. The purpose of the study was toinvestigate the stress levels of students by examining whetherdifferent forms of examination could lead to differenteffects;specifically, achievement motivation and experienced stress. The survey questions investigated how students felt regarding stresslevels and symptoms in relation to exam types. Our hypotheses werethat take-home written exams would result in lower stress levels butalso lead to less motivation, whereas the opposite would be true forwritten exams during observation. The study showed that studentsdon’t experience any difference in the level of stress towards theexaminations types. The result also showed that the type of stress, achievement motivation and experienced stress didn’t effect theexaminations type and finally there were no difference in stress levelbetween genders.

Druhy žalob v civilním procesu / Types of civil actions in the civil process

Rosa, Adam January 2019 (has links)
Types of civil actions in the civil process This graduation paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter describes an action as such. It covers most aspects of an action such as the elements of an action, defects, consequences of filing an action and possible dispositions. An analysis of these aspects should enhance the reader's orientation in the legal terms and help to understand the context and relations between individual types of actions in the following chapters. More focus was put on the prayer for relief as a key element used to categorise individual types of action. The section "Prayer for relief and its types" provides several examples that could help clarify the issue of their categorisation to the non-professional public. The second chapter describes the modern history of the types of actions and the development of procedural legislation. It also contains a reference to the new drafted rules of judicial procedure as a considered replacement of the current Rules of Civil Procedure. The third chapter provides a categorisation of actions and their individual types. Major focus is devoted to the highly discussed declaratory action, plea of res judicata, and the binding nature of the court's justification. Each analysed type of action contains at least one practical and informal...
