Kombinationen idrott och utbildning är etablerat i Sverige idag. Specialidrottsämnet i svenska gymnasieskolan har forskats på de senaste åren, men saknar däremot undersökningar gällande individualiserad undervisning. Syftet med studien var att beskriva och förstå hur specialidrottslärare inom lagbollsidrotter individualiserar undervisningen. Undersökningen tillämpade ett målstyrt urval. Studien undersökte området genom semi-strukturerade intervjuer med fyra specialidrottslärare och hur de arbetade med individualisering i undervisningen. Studien tog hjälp av differentierad undervisningsteori som teoretiskt ramverk. Informationen som samlades in genom intervjuerna kodades till teman och delteman genom en tematisk analys. Studiens resultat delades in i fyra huvudteman, specialidrottslärarnas bakgrund, specialidrottslärarnas perspektiv på undervisning, individualisering i undervisningen och individualisering utanför lektionen. Resultatet visade att lärarna individualiserar lektionerna på olika sätt med varierande undervisning där individen står i centrum. Däremot behövs ett stöd i form av konkretiserande läroplan och individuella utvecklingsplaner från den interna idrotten. Analysen genomfördes med hjälp av differentierad undervisningsteori för att förstå och tolka resultatet. Slutsatsen visar på flera olika sätt somkunskap från lärare som kan föras vidare till landets specialidrottslärare samt hur addering av nya verktyg kan stärka specialidrottsverksamheten. / The combination of sports and education is established in sweden today. The subject of special sports in Swedish upper secondary school has been researched in recent years, but there is a lack of research regarding individualized teaching. The purpose of the study was to describe and understand how special sports teachers in team ball sports individualize teaching. The survey applied a purposive sampling. The study investigated the area through semi-structured interviews with four special education teachers and how they worked with individualization in teaching. The study used differentiated teaching theory as theoretical framework. The information collected through the interviews was coded into themes and sub-themes through a thematic analysis. The results of the study were divided into four main themes, the special sports teachers´ background, the special sports teachers´ perspective on teaching, individualization in teaching and individualization outside the lesson. The results showed that the teachers individualize the lessons in different ways with varied teaching where the individual is at the center. However, support is needed in the form of concrete curriculum and individual development plans from internal sports. The analysis was carried out using differentiated teaching theory to understand and interpret the results. The conclusion shows knowledge from teachers that can be passed on to the country´s special sports teachers and how the addition of new tools can strengthen special sports activities.
