Ericsson, Elin, Duvinger, Emma January 2009 (has links)
Today, it is prescribed by law that authorities should cooperate, especially around vulnerable children. There is a need in Sweden of research about cooperation and the problems that can occur. Hence, this study seeks to examine which structural organizational conditions that affect cooperation in a few consultation groups around violence and sexual abuse against children in Kronobergs län. Another aim is to see which meaning these conditions have for a functioning cooperation. Eight interviews have been done to investigate how different actors felt about cooperation, in the consultation groups. We have also studied the directives for these groups in order to get a deeper understanding how the consultation groups work. Our main results are that there are some central conditions which influence on how the cooperation in the consultation groups works, for example different regulations, distinct working areas and obvious goals for the groups. We found, beyond these conditions, that the target group also effects in our case. Our conclusion is that the cooperation in the consultation groups works fairly well but there are still some problems left to overcome.

The encounter with the midwife - pregnant women’s exposure to partner violence and the role of the midwife : A qualitative methasynthesis

Linde, Maria, Karlsson, Synnöve January 2018 (has links)
Background: Intimate partner violence is a serious threat against women's security, well-being and health. Women all over the world are subject to different kinds of violence and pregnant women are no exception. The violence can increase during pregnancy among the women that earlier has endured violence, with a risk for both the women’s and unborn baby's health. Midwives have a unique opportunity to care for and support these abused women. Purpose: To describe pregnant women’s encounter with the midwife with focus on exposure to partner violence and the role of the midwife. Method: A meta-synthesis which included both qualitative literature studies and quantitative studies with qualitative elements were used in the result. Articles were searched through databases as PubMed, CINAHL, PsycInfo and Web of Science and these were analysed through meta-ethnography. Results: The study showed that time, knowledge and confidence were important factors that could cause women in revealing to midwives about violence during pregnancy. Both women and midwives had to the most part the same patterns that they spoke about as both obstacles and help for disclosure of violence in care for women in pregnancy. Conclusion: The pattern matched well between women’s and midwive’s perceptions of the problems seen in violence during pregnancy. Trusting the midwife’s encounter and knowledge, were seen as the most important issues for women to feel safe in revealing violence during pregnancy. Clinical implications : Basic education about violence that is already under the supervision of midwives can be a way to give midwives a better prerequisite for their new role. In order to maintain and develop knowledge of violence, continuing education should be continued for legitimate midwives, which in turn provides better conditions for midwives to meet women who are pregnant with violence.

Hur skildras barns rättigheter och utsatthet i barnböcker? : En bilderboksanalys av skönlitterära böcker för 3–6-åringar / How are children’s rights and vulnerability portrayed in children’s books? : A picture book analysis of fictional books for 3–6-year-olds

Finnström, Sofia January 2024 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to analyze children’s books that both deal with children who are suffering, and children’s books that aim to prevent child abuse. By conducting a systematic literature study, I have answered my research questions. The results of the study can lead to increased knowledge and understanding of how children’s literature can be helpful when it comes to issues and topics that concern violence against children and children’s integrity. The questions I have answered in this study are how the different family situations are depicted, how the children’s relationships and vulnerability are reflected, and how the vulnerable children react in these books. The scientific articles summarized under previous research cover topics such as touch in preschool, what criteria a children’s book should have to be used for “abuse prevention” purposes, how such literature has changed over time, and what the consequences of lack of competence in adults are. My study supports previous research showing that children’s books are an important part of children’s learning and development, and that they can convey different values, norms, and messages about children’s rights and vulnerability in society. But this genre of books is still too new to see any positive change in the statistics regarding adult violence against children, and if any change would depend on the literature. The work to prevent abuse is not just about reducing the number of children exposed. It can also have a range of positive effects on society as a whole.
