Driver Drowsiness Monitoring Based on Yawning Detection

Abtahi, Shabnam January 2012 (has links)
Driving while drowsy is a major cause behind road accidents, and exposes the driver to a much higher crash risk compared to driving while alert. Therefore, the use of assistive systems that monitor a driver’s level of vigilance and alert the fatigue driver can be significant in the prevention of accidents. This thesis introduces three different methods towards the detection of drivers’ drowsiness based on yawning measurement. All three approaches involve several steps, including the real time detection of the driver’s face, mouth and yawning. The last approach, which is the most accurate, is based on the Viola-Jones theory for face and mouth detection and the back projection theory for measuring both the rate and the amount of changes in the mouth for yawning detection. Test results demonstrate that the proposed system can efficiently measure the aforementioned parameters and detect the yawning state as a sign of a driver’s drowsiness.

Lokalizace obličejů ve video sekvencích v reálném čase / Real time face recognizer

Juráček, Aleš January 2009 (has links)
My diploma thesis deals about face detection in picture. I try to outline problems of computer vision, artificial intelligence and machine learning. I described in details the proposed detection by Viola and Jones, which uses AdaBoost learning algorithm. This method was deliberately chosen for speed and detection accuracy. This detector was made in programming language C / C + + using the OpenCV library. To a final learning was used database of faces images „MIT CVCL Face Database“. The main goal was to propose the face detector utilizable also in video-sequences.

Návrh rozhodovacích stromů na základě evolučních algoritmů / Decision Tree Design Based on Evolutionary Algorithms

Benda, Ondřej January 2012 (has links)
Tato diplomová práce pojednává o dvou algoritmech pro dolování z proudu dat - Very Fast Decision Tree (VFDT) a Concept-adapting Very Fast Decision Tree (CVFDT).

3D monitor pomocí detekce pozice hlavy / 3D Monitor Based on Head Pose Detection

Zivčák, Jan January 2011 (has links)
With the development of posibilities of image processing, stereoscopy, prices of web cameras and power of computers an opportunity to multiply an experience with working with 3D programs showed. From the picture from webcamera an estimation of a pose of user's head can be made. According to this pose a view on 3D scene can be changed. Then, when user moves his head, he will have a feeling as if monitor was a window through which one can see the scene behind. With the system which is the result of this project it will be possible to easily and cheaply add this kind of behaviour to any 3D application.

Studio class purpose for performance : A comparison on how a musical piece performed in a final recital concert is different when prepared in studio class

Tupina, Madara January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis was to find out if and how studio class improves a live performance at a final examination concert. Although the specific research described in this paper was about playing the viola, the argument is made that the exploration and knowledge of pratice would be of benefit to any musician. This paper describes the studio class experiment during an academic semester within playing a musical piece and its full analysis. Information is provided about the studio class, its methods, variations, and practices. The application of studio class at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm to viola playing in general is discussed, and specifically to the preparation for the performance of Sonata for viola and piano by Janis Medins. The results of the study indicates that studio class was really beneficial to the interpretation of the piece during a live performance at a final examination concert. / <p>Janis Medins, Sonata for viola and piano (1959)</p>

Characterizing the populaton biology and life history of Speyeria adiaste clemencei

Zaman, Khuram 01 January 2014 (has links)
In this thesis, the life history and population biology of an endemic and declining California butterfly, Speyeria adiaste clemencei (Comstock, 1925) is described from Chews Ridge, Monterey Co., CA. S. a. clemencei can be successfully reared on commercially available Viola spp., facilitating captive rearing for restoration. Larvae of S. adiaste can be distinguished morphologically from sympatric S. callippe and S. coronis larvae based upon coloration of the dorsal and dorsolateral scoli, head capsule coloration, and coloration of setae, facilitating identification in the field. Adequate access to nectar sources throughout the flight period, especially during drought years, as well as host plant density and distribution, are critical aspects for maintaining viable S. a. clemencei populations. To gain a better understanding of its population biology, three seasons of weekly Pollard walk counts and two seasons of mark recapture (MR) were conducted. The population declined during the study period, which may be associated with decreasing rainfall. MR estimates were very strongly correlated with weekly Pollard walk counts. Differences in habitat use between the sexes were observed, with males showing a slight preference for ridge over meadow plots, whereas females preferred meadow plots containing Viola host plants. Analysis of survival and dispersal indicated this species is relatively short-lived with low dispersal ability, two traits associated with its life history that have important implications for re-colonization dynamics and population structure.

An analysis of Brahms' Quintet in B minor, op. 115, for clarinet and strings

Graham, Jack E. (Jack Eldon) 01 1900 (has links)
Although many volumes concerning the life and works of Johannes Brahms have been written, it has been found that the majority of these writings treat the material of the subject in a rather poetic and romanticized fashion. This is especially unfortunate in those volumes where the works of Brahms are analyzed with pragmatic implications, since Brahms himself eschewed the use of extramusical elements in his composition. This investigation, therefore, is an attempt to present a careful analysis of one of these compositions, the Quintet in B Minor, Op. 115, for clarinet and string quartet.
