Vodní světy Nových Mlýnů: Etnografie vinařů a klimatické změny / Waterworlds of Nové Mlýny: Ethnography of winemakers and climate change

Šimková, Kateřina January 2021 (has links)
This master thesis addresses issues reflecting the socio-natural aspects of draught, one of the devastating consequences of climate change which increasingly affects the Czech Republic. This work uses a field research facility located around reservoirs Nové Mlýny and views it within the waterworlds concept, a term established by authors Kristen Hastrup and Fridy Hastrup. Ethnographic research shows the impact of water and its scarcity on the landscape, local inhabitants and their relationships and practices. A particular focus is given to wine growers and their understanding of draught, climate change and ways for adopting good practices in an area which is gradually drying out. Furthermore, it captures the transformation of practices related to the maintenance of a vineyard and maps individuals affected by the problems of draught in that area. Key words: Ethnography, draught, climate change, waterworlds, water, reservoirs Nové Mlýny, viniculture

Vodojemy - Brno, Žlutý kopec / Reservoirs - Brno, Zluty kopec (Yellow hill)

Gomboš, Michal January 2021 (has links)
After successfully avoiding of the destructive scenario with the demolition of reservoirs and replacing them with parking house, the second question arises. How to stimulate the people's interest in these underground jewels, the interest that would confirm the decision to save reservoirs. One of the possible ways, in which I see a purpose and the one that I decided to chose is to make the reservoirs accessible alongside the pathway and let the natural curiosity of human to do the rest.

Adsorpce toxických kovů z odpadních vod na odpadním materiálu z potravinářského průmyslu / Adsorption of toxic metals from wastewater to waste material from the food industry

Křikala, Jakub January 2018 (has links)
This thesis was focused on the possibility of secondary utilization of waste material from the wine industry to remove heavy metals from wastewater. In the theoretical part, there were discussed mainly the problems of heavy metals pollution including methods of their removal and ICP-OES detection. Furthermore, the waste material from the wine production and the possibilities of its further processing were discussed there. The primary objective of the experimental part was to characterize the material by IR analysis, optimization of adsorption conditions, isotherms construction and determination of maximum adsorption capacities of white, red and chemically modified marc for Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni and Pb. From the parameters influencing the adsorption efficiency, the adsorbent load was optimized (m/V ratio = 0,02); pH values found were 5 for Cd, Cu, Ni, Pb and 3 for Cr and the contact time to reach the equilibrium was 15 minutes for Cd, Ni, Pb and 30 minutes for Cr and Cu. Maximum adsorption capacity for heavy metals were calculated from adsorption isotherms by applying the Langmuir model and found to be 18,829 7 mg/g for Cd; 10,664 7 mg/g for Ni; 35,602 0 mg/g for Pb (modified marc with 1M NaOH); 4,678 4 mg/g for Cu and 9,629 0 mg/g for Cr. The results of the work confirm the good adsorption potential of heavy metals on marc and the positive effect of chemical modification of natural biosorbents to improve their adsorption capacity.

Predikce rizika kontaminace podzemní vody při závlaze odpadními vodami / The prediction of the risk by wastewater irrigation

Burešová, Erika January 2019 (has links)
The thesis deals with the issue of simulation of treated wastewater irrigation by the HYDRUS 2D software. The first part of the thesis is designed as a literary research of academic information and knowledge. It aims at introducing the issue of treated wastewater utilization for the purpose of the irrigation with an emphasis on the Czech Republic. The following is an overview of important hydropedological characteristics of soils, the theoretical basis of numerical modeling of movement and transport of solutes in soil and the use of HYDRUS 2D software. The practical part is based on theoretical knowledge and demonstrates the creating process of mathematical model in program HYDRUS 2D, simulating the transport of input pollution in the soil profile. Wastewater used for irrigation was treated using a system of mechanical pretreatment and horizontal filters planted with macrophytes situated on a CW Drazovce. This work describes the calibration and subsequent application of calibrated models for monitored pollution parameters NH4+-N, P-PO4-3 and COD.

Návrh aditivně vyráběného tepelného výměníku olej-voda pro formuli student / Design of additively manufactured oil-water heat exchanger for formula student

Březina, Josef January 2019 (has links)
Diploma thesis deals with a design and manufacture of oil cooler by technology Selective Laser Melting for Formula Student. The main goal of the design is to ensure optimal oil circuit cooling at a minimal mass. The design of manufactured oil cooler is based on a plate heat exchanger concept with optimized intakes by CFD simulations and heat exchange body with fins of thickness 0.17 mm. An analytical model was created. SLM process parameters were optimized for a thin walls printing, Subsequently, a fabrication of testing parts was finished for measuring pressure drops and performances of micro heat exchangers. Results were used for an accuracy improvement of the analytical model and for consequent optimization of heat exchange surface. Afterwards optimization was executed for inlets and outlets by using flow simulations. A prototype was built and verified on a test stand. Performance of the designed oil cooler is 4.5 kW for race mode, where temperature drop of oil circuit is 22 °C. The lightweight design weighs 320 g, which reduces more than 47 % of a current oil-air cooler weight. Furthermore, a centre of gravity is decreased by designed placement of the cooler.
