Poetika divadelních textů Wernera Schwaba. / Poetics in theatre plays of Werner Schwab

Macáková, Karolína January 2016 (has links)
The master thesis deals with the work of the Austrian playwright Werner Schwab, who wrote most of his plays during the first half of the 1990s. Its aim is to provide an analysis of his theatre plays. The thesis pays a special attention to his in the Czech contextwell-known cycle Fäkaliendramen (Fecal plays). Schwab's writing represents a new way of writing, so called post-dramatic theatre plays.  The thesis looks at Schwab's  theatre language by dramaturgically analysing his most renowned theatre plays Die Präsidentinnen, Die Volksvernichtung oder Mein Leber ist sinnlos, Übergewicht, unwichtig: Unform, Mein Hundemund and also Pornogeographie in a critical way, it reflects the author’s innovative approach towards the category of dramatic conflict and dramatic language. The thesis also outlines an historical context which served as a platform for the birth of a specific artistic form of Austrian drama after the Second World War.

___________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This dissertation discusses the relationship between the physicist Werner Heisenberg’s works and ancient Greek philosophy. It aims to present the context of such relationship in the debates around quantum theory, which occurred in the XX Century’s first five decades. In order to accomplish this task, it was necessary to describe quantum theory’s historical and conceptual development and Heisenberg’s part in this process. The Greek philosophical concepts were used by Heisenberg as a way to clarify problems of quantum mechanics itself to legitimate the Copenhagen Interpretation and in disqualification of the rival interpretations. The history of science for Heisenberg is determined by two concurrent influxes of thought that appeared in ancient Greece: materialism and idealism. From such cleavage, Heisenberg founds a criticism against the Copenhagen Interpretation’s opponents, as well as philosophically justifies his own thesis regarding quantum mechanics. It is argued that, although his philosophical conceptions are not liable to a complete systematization, the relation that Heisenberg established among Greek philosophy and the problems of the quanta theory ended up in an interpretation of physical reality near to a realism, in which there are traces of Platonism and subjectivism.

This work intends to analyse german filmmaker's Werner Herzog documentary ouevre, under the optics of the director's voice and body self-reflexion in his documentaries and the relationship between Herzog and his narratives in each work. It tries to establish how this characteristic was born in his filmography and how it has evolved through five decades of his activity as a film director. Herzog's participation in his films is related to theories of Documentary Film concerning the reflexivity of the author in the filmic narrative. Going from questions arised in the late 1950's about the participation of the director in the documentary (Cinema Vérité) to questions related to a profoundly self-referrent documentary narrative popularized in the 1980's, one can say that self-reflection is a subject-matter that is still alive in documentary film theory, being constantly problematized and renewed in contemporary documentary production / Mestrado / Mestre em Multimeios

An analytical study of Hans Werner Henze's Fifth symphony

Gascon, Belinda 01 January 1980 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to present a systematic view of Henze’s stylistic characteristics in areas of form, melodic material and series, rhythm and meter, harmony, texture, and orchestration. The wide range of style exhibited by Henze will be brought to light in this study. Mention of certain stylistic traits in common with other well-known composers, such as Schoenberg, Webern, Stravinsky, and Bartok will be made. Finally, the thesis will show that Henze does not adhere to any strict principle of music composition but allows rather his own innate musical sense and desire for expression to guide him.

Lachapelle, Sophie 18 April 2018 (has links)

Abstract: In the movie "Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant" (1972), the German filmmaker Rainer Werner Fassbinder, the apartment is a changing place narrative. Expectations and meanings constructed by the viewer will be moved by feelings of stability and instability awakened by the scenery. We are interested in how the cinematic language - closely associated with the theater - will transform our perception of spatial reference and narrative. / Mestrado / Educação, Conhecimento, Linguagem e Arte / Mestre em Educação
