We all spend much time at work during our lifes and that is why I want to do a research of working satisfaction. I will realize this research by using a list of questions and oral interview in a company that employs about 60 people. I will focus on factors - wage, working environment, interpersonal relations - and their impact on the satisfaction rate. Main goal of my work is to improve care of eployees by proposing a recommendation to management of the company that may lead to lower fluctuation of employees, more effective work and higher prosperity of the company.

The working environment of occupational health nurses as a determinant for professional developmentSchultz, Alma 18 May 2012 (has links)
An investment in nursing education and staff development should consider the reasons for participating in continuing education and professional development in order to improve planning for long term continual professional development (Joyce&Cowman, 2007:626). The aim of this study was to investigate the working environment of occupational health nurses as a determinant for professional development. A quantitative approach was used for this research study. A non-experimental, descriptive survey was conducted to collect data for this study because it reflects accurate characteristics of the various environments of occupational health. Data was collected using a questionnaire which was distributed to four SASOHN (South African Society of Occupational Health Nursing Practitioners) regions (Eastern Cape, Vaal, Gauteng and Mpumalanga) as the principal method of data collection. In terms of the educational needs identified it was evident in the study that the occupational health nurse would attend professional development programmes more often if their learning needs are identified prior to the programme. The occupational health nurse preferred one day workshops as the preferred method of continual professional development. The psychosocial needs of the occupational health nurses highlighted that there was little support in the office while attending professional development programmes and that assistance with administrative tasks at work were lacking. The findings of this study revealed various professional development barriers such as financial constraints, frustrations with regard to daily workload, discrimination against the profession, lack of discussions with employers with regard to staff development programmes, training material not being readily available and insufficient facilities such as an on-site library. It is also clear from the findings of this study that continual professional development will improve the self esteem and self worth of the Occupational Health nurses. For the occupational health nurse to develop professionally they need support from their employers and colleagues. The findings were evident that the employers do support the occupational health nurse to develop professionally by granting special leave to attend professional development programmes. Reducing Fast Food Employee Turnover with Appealing Working EnvironmentsForrest, James Lloyd 01 January 2017 (has links)
While all business leaders face problems with voluntary employee turnover, fast food business leaders often face turnover rates at twice the national average. Using Weiss and Cropanzano's affective events theory, this exploratory multiple case study detailed the investigation into strategies that fast food business leaders use to establish an appealing working environment that reduces employee turnover. A purposeful sampling process identified 9 fast food business leaders from 3 different fast food organizations within the Omaha, Nebraska metro area who had successfully established a positive working environment that reduced employee turnover. Data collection included semistructured interviews and review of company documents. Using Yin's 5 step analytic approach, 3 themes (fairness, communication, and trust) emerged relative to fast food business leaders' strategies to establish an appealing working environment that reduces employee turnover. Fairness included fair interpersonal treatment, regulation, and wage setting. Communication included training, employee engagement, and corrective actions. Fast food business leaders used trust as a feedback mechanism for their fairness and communications strategies. Business leaders using strategies of fairness, communication, and trust to establish appealing working environments that reduce employee turnover could increase profitability and productivity within the fast food industry. The implication for positive social change is that more consistent employment and less work-related stress increases the potential for employees and their families to become more involved within their communities.

Restful Workspaces : Using product design to improve resting spaces in stressful working environmentsGarphem, Hanna January 2022 (has links)
The aim of this research is to understand and explore the different needs important to the resting space used at work, and how research through design can be used to better uptain the goal of creating rest and recovery for the employees. It is a requirement made by the Swedish Work Environment Authority that every workspace have, or temporarily can provide, a resting space for its employees. But not everyone finds use of this space, and little research has been made on how product design can be used in resting spaces to better fulfil the needs of the individuals working there. That is something this thesis hopes to uncover by inviting the employees into the design process, participating in interviews, a workshop and a moodboard as the users of this project. By using product design in an investigative and interactive process, important insights were made during the study as to what is important for rest and recovery to be obtained. These insights were then put together into a list of requirements for the final product to be evaluated against. The result became a product much appreciated by the employees, as it created sheldment from work.

Nyutexaminerade poliser i yttre tjänst : Krav, resurser och arbetsrelaterad stressAmin, Hiba January 2024 (has links)
Stress utgör en välkänd utmaning inom polisyrket. Kombinationen av höga arbetskrav och otillräckliga resurser ökar risken för psykiska påfrestningar. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur relativt nyanställda svenska poliser i yttre tjänst upplever arbetsrelaterad stress samt vilka krav och påfrestningar de ställs inför. Dessutom ta reda på eventuella resurser som finns att hantera de krav som ställs. Åtta semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med relativt nyutexaminerade poliser i Sverige som arbetade i yttre tjänst. En tematisk analys visade bland annat att poliserna upplevde psykosociala krav som följd av hög arbetsbelastning samtidigt som de upplevde tidspress som resulterade i upplevelsen av kvalitetsbrister, psykisk ohälsa och emotionella krav. Resurserna som kunde underlätta dessa krav var det kollegiala stödet samt krisstöd från polismyndigheten och närvarande yttre befäl. En resurs som saknades var bättre bemanning. Poliserna upplevde att en bättre bemanning skulle kunna motverka en del av påfrestningarna som poliserna erfor i sitt arbete.
