A study was done to test the effectiveness of a managerial training and development program. Seventy-three first-line and middle managers of a medium size oil company were the subjects of this experiment. The two experimental groups took part in three training seminars which were designed to increase their skills in motivation and supervision.

The thesis deals with minimizing of the inventory of finished products in the ceramic industry. To reduce inventory the ABC and XYZ analysis was used for the sorting of products into the groups and particular ways were suggested to reduce inventories of finished products. In the theoretical part are described the theoretical assumptions for inventory management issues such as costs, demand, or different methods of inventory management. Then the technological process of production of ceramic tiles follows. In the practical part, entire knowledge of the theory is applied to the problems of ceramic tiles production in LASSELSBERGER, Ltd. It concerns specifically about 1284 products analyzed by using ABC and XYZ methods. Proposed methods and their effect on saving of storage space (storage space saving) were compared afterwards. The result of the work is a comprehensive product portfolio analysis of LASSELSBERGER, Ltd. indicating to company management, which economy measures will ensure the highest costs saving.

Diploma thesis focuses on standardization of selected commodity, purchased for manufacturing using in the company. For this commodity is realized analysis, on it’s bases will be proposed more effective purchasing model. The finaly result of this diploma thesis should be achieve savings connected with purchase.

Dans cette thèse nous donnons une solution des chaînes quantiques de spin-1/2 XXZ et XYZ ouvertes avec les termes de bord intégrables les plus généraux. En utilisant la méthode de la Séparation des Variable (SoV), à la Sklyanin, on est capable, dans le cas inhomogène, de construire l’ensemble complet des états propres et des valeurs propres associés. La caractérisation de ces quantités est faite par un système maximal de N équations quadratiques, où N est la taille du système. Des méthodes différentes, comme l’ansatz de Bethe algébrique (ABA) ou autres généralisations de l’ansatz de Bethe, ont été utilisés dans le passé pour résoudre ces problèmes. Aucune méthode a pu effectivement reproduire l’ensemble complet des états propres et valeur propres dans le cas de conditions au bord les plus génériques. Une expression, sous forme d’un déterminant à la Vandermonde, pour les produits scalaires entre les états en représentation de SoV est aussi obtenue. La formule pour les produits scalaires représente la première étape pour approcher le problème relié au calcul des facteurs de forme et fonctions de corrélations. / In this thesis we give accounts on the solution of the open XXZ and XYZ quantum spin-1/2 chains with the most generic integrable boundary terms. By using the the Separation of Variables method (SoV), due to Sklyanin, we are able, in the inhomogeneous case, to build the complete set of eigenstates and the associated eigenvalues. The characterization of these quantities is made through a maximal system of N quadratic equations, where N is the size of the chain. Different methods, like the Algebraic Bethe ansatz (ABA) or other generalized Bethe ansatz techniques, have been used, in the past, in order to tackle these problems. None of them resulted effective in the reproduction of the full set of eigenstates and eigenvalues in the case of most general boundary conditions. A Vandermonde determinant formula for the scalar products of SoV states is obtained as well. The scalar product formula represents a first step towards the calculation of form factors and correlation functions.

This thesis focuses on the management of a selected part of the production process in IMI Precision Engineering and aims to present a proposal for the introduction of a new approach to managing the production task of the given production process part using the Kanban model. The subject of the analysis is the inventory of the given production process part, which are analysed based on ABC / XYZ analysis, the conclusions of which, presented in the design part of the thesis, serve as basis for the creation of a proposal for the introduction of Kanban.

This diploma thesis deals with the isssue of packaging management. At the first it explains the general concepts of the logistics, stock and packaging management. Using methods employed in logistics, the analysis will examine the current situation and its related problem areas. In the last part, there will be designed management concept that would prevent and eliminate the problems with packaging management.

Ett väl utnyttjat automatlager som innehåller rätt artiklar, med hänsyn till dess betydelse för företaget och efterfrågefrekvens, innebär en ökad konkurrenskraft på marknaden. Med hjälp av tydliga beslutskriterier angående vilka produkter som ska lagerföras i automatlagret underlättas den dagliga lagerstyrningen. En förbättrad insikt och kontroll över en lagerverksamhet innebär möjligheter för företag att med hjälp av exempelvis differentierade servicenivåer nå en högre kundtillfredsställelse och minskad kapitalbindning. Det studerade företaget upplever att lagerstyrningen av automatlager samt plock-och buffertlager inte sker fördelaktigt ur ett ekonomiskt perspektiv. Frekventa truckkörningar till följd av brist i automatlagret och höga lagernivåer samt mindre frekventa produkter som följd av felplacering av artiklar i automatlagret är tidskrävande aktiviteter att hantera. Syftet med studien är att utforma en lagerstyrning för företag inom grossisthandeln för att öka utnyttjandegraden av ett automatlager med hänsyn till artiklarnas betydelse för företaget och dess efterfrågefrekvens. Studien är utformad som en fallstudie och kommer att baseras på Abena AB i Växjö. Studien belyser de nuvarande problemen som finns i företagets lagerstyrning samt ger förslag till förbättringar. Fallstudiens disposition baseras på följande tre frågeställningar: Hur ser Abenas nuvarande lagerstyrning ut vid fördelning av lagerplatser i automatlagret? Vad är orsakerna till de problem som identifieras i nuvarande lagerstyrning och vad innebär de för konsekvenser? Vilka förbättringsåtgärder kan föreslås för att åstadkomma en högre utnyttjandegrad av automatlagrets lagringskapacitet? Under studiens gång har förslag på tillvägagångssätt för att öka utnyttjandegraden av företagets automatlager presenterats. Ett datoriserat verktyg i Excel har skapats där samtliga beräkningar utförts baserade på Abenas data från affärssystemet. Det utformade verktyget i Excel kan i framtiden användas av företaget som ett hjälpmedel för utveckling av lagerstyrning. En ny kategorisering enligt ABC/XYZ-kategorisering skapade goda förutsättningar för Abena att på ett mer rationellt och konsekvent sätt fördela artiklar till lagerplatser i automatlagret. En differentiering av servicenivåer utifrån den kategorisering innebär ytterligare högre utnyttjandegrad av automatlager då lagernivåerna anpassas utefter värdet på produkten samt dess efterfrågefrekvens. Differentieringen resulterade i en minskad kapitalbindning på 1 821 187 kronor jämfört med senast bokförda kapitalbindning. Det frigjorda kapitalet förbättrar företagets ekonomiska förutsättningar inför exempelvis framtida investeringar.
