Teorie poznání na základě znaků u Aristotela / Aristotle's Theory of Knowledge Based on Signs

Šedivcová, Karolína January 2017 (has links)
This thesis asks for the role of signs in Aristotle's theory of knowledge. The great part of semiotic literature is restricted on the interpretation of the works De Interpretatione, which explains the theory of symbols, and Analytica Priora, which explains the theory of signs. In Aristotle's words, theory of signs is based on the theory of knowledge submitted in De Anima. However, semioticians are not able to define the exact part of this work which is being linked, therefore they only neglect this link. The aim of this thesis is to find how much the conception of knowledge submitted in De Anima works or does not work with the notion of representation, and which role Aristotle's notions of sign (sémeion) and symbol (symbolon) take in that issue. Keywords: Aristotle, De Interpretatione, Analytica Priora, De Anima, history of semiotics, knowledge, signs.

Změny v expresi membránových molekul CD200R, CD95, CD95L a solubilního CD200R regulujících zánětlivou odpověď u pacientů podstupujících kardiochirurgický zákrok / Changes in Expression of Membrane Molecules CD200R, CD95, CD95L, and Soluble CD200R Regulating inflammatory Responses in Patients Undergoing Cardiac Surgery

Holmannová, Drahomíra January 2017 (has links)
Cardiac surgery is known to initiate a complex physiological response with the immune system activation (SIRS), neurohormonal response, metabolic changes, coagulopathies etc. SIRS is triggered by tissue injury, myocardial ischemia, reperfusion, use of anaesthesia, cardioplegia, extracorporeal circuit etc. Excessive immune system activation is associated with progression of SIRS, life-threatening multi-organ dysfunction (MOD), and increased morbidity/mortality in the postoperative period. The immune system response is regulated and terminated by both cellular and humoral regulatory and inhibitory mechanisms including changes in expression of in our study monitored molecules: CD200/CD200R, sCD200R and CD95/CD95L. Methods: The study included the measurement the expression of CD95, CD95L, CD200R, and sCD200R molecules in granulocyte and monocyte populations in blood samples of 30 patients who underwent heart surgery using CPB. Samples collected before surgery, after surgery, and in the postoperative period (1st , 3rd , 7th day) were analysed by flow cytometry and sCD200R by ELISA. Results: We discovered a significant increase in the percentage of granulocytes expressing inhibitory molecule CD200R (from 5% to 17.8%) instantly after surgery. It might be presumed that these cells are less susceptible to...

Deleuzova asignifikantní sémiotika / Deleuze's asignifying semiotics

Charvát, Martin January 2016 (has links)
Mgr. Martin Charvát Deleuze's asignifying semiotics Disertační práce Abstract: In the thesis I am trying to prove that Gilles Deleuze's philosophy must be considered in respect of his analysis of sign. Deleuze's philosophy is thus inseparable from his semiotics which I would like to show on the figure of philosophy as symptomatology. If we understand sign as a symptom we are also standing on the semiotic level. Signs are expressions of ways of life, of our understanding of the world around us. The problem of Deleuze's semiotics (which is connected with the problem of expression) leads us to the problem of genesis. In this respect the genesis is united with the concept of pure difference. Key words: Deleuze, Gilles - signs - semiotics - genesis - difference

Vztah nádorového genotypu a fenotypu k diagnostice, prognóze a predikci kolorektálního karcinomu / Relation of tumor genotype and phenotype to diagnosis, prognosis and prediction of colorectal cancer

Pitule, Pavel January 2014 (has links)
Colorectal cancer is one of the most common type of malignity. Despite of the existence of numerous studies focused on this carcinoma, there are still many unknown features regarding its diagnosis, treatment or prognosis. In the thesis we focused on the identification of novel prognostics markers that could be useful for the stratification of patients based on the disease outcomes. In the first study we immunohistochemically assessed expression of two proteins associated with cancer stem cells in the samples of primary colorectal cancer and matched liver metastasis. Goal of the study was to evaluate relation among expression of CD44 and CD133 and overall survival and disease free interval in our set of patients. We observed that increased ratio of CD133 positive compared to CD133 negative tumor glands resulted in longer disease free interval, finding which is opposite to the general view on the CD133 role in the cancer development. Our hypothesis is that we analyzed confined group of patients and followed a bit different goal, where we measured ratio between positive and negative glands in the view-field and not the intensity of staining as the previous studies did. Our second study was focused on the transcriptional analysis of the selected set of twelve genes using frozen samples from colorectal...

Sémióza sebeprezentace sportovních klubů AC Sparta Praha a HC Sparta Praha v sezoně 2013/2014 / Semiosis of the self-prezentation of sports clubs AC Sparta Praha and HC Sparta Praha in the season 2013/2014

Drobná, Šárka January 2015 (has links)
Diploma thesis deals with semiotics of advertising media campaigns of sport clubs AC Sparta Praha and HC Sparta Praha in the season 2013/2014. Both of the clubs celebrated an anniversary this season: AC Sparta Praha celebrated 120 years since its foundation, HC Sparta Praha celebrated 110 years. That was a reason why media campaigns were intensive and referred to the glorious history of the clubs. The Diploma thesis research is focused on meanings encoded into the campaigns and attempts to find out which verbal and non-verbal signs create the term "Sparta". The Author tries to find out if there is the same semiotic base for both clubs which operate with the same name and elementary signs. Diploma thesis defines contemporary "myth of Sparta" in Czech sport area. Theoretical part occupies with contemporary status of sport in the society, analytical part deals with the media campaigns of both clubs from semiotic perspective.

Vztah exteriéru prvotelek k výkonnosti a dlouhověkosti dojnic českého strakatého plemene / The relationship of exterior of first calved to the performance and longevity of Czech Fleckvieh cows

NOVOTNÝ, Luboš January 2019 (has links)
Genetic relationship was analyzed between type traits and longevity measures in dual-purpose cattle. Data from 91 486 Czech Fleckvieh cows first calved between 2003 and 2009 were used. Longevity was defined as the actual number of lactations initiated per cow and also as functional longevity, which incorporated an adjustment to account for variation in voluntary culling based upon milk production. Lifetime performance was defined as cumulative milk production through the 6th parity. All cows were scored for conformation traits during their first lactation. Genetic correlations between these traits and longevity measures were estimated by bivariate analysis using the DMU variance component program package. Type trait heritabilities ranged from 0.30 to 0.59, while heritabilities for longevity and functional longevity were 0.06 and 0.05, respectively. Heritability of lifetime performance was 0.08. Genetic correlations between type traits and longevity measures ranged from low to intermediate values. Genetic correlations of the measured body size traits to the real and functional longevity ranged from ?0.06 to ?0.29, for udder traits from ?0.02 to 0.33, and for foot and leg traits from ?0.03 to 0.17. Genetic correlations between the measured body size traits and lifetime performance ranged from ?0.03 to ?0.30, for udder traits from 0.05 to 0.47, for foot and leg traits from ?0.07 to 0.15. Genetic correlations of composite trait scores for frame, muscularity, feet and legs, and udder with longevity traits ranged from ?0.20 to 0.41 and for lifetime performance ?0.14 to 0.51. The highest genetic correlations between a type trait and functional longevity were for composite udder score (0.25), feet and legs (0.26), and udder depth (0.33), suggesting that these traits could serve as indicators of functional longevity. We conclude that selection based upon easily and inexpensively measured type traits could improve functional longevity of cows as well as lifetime milk production.
