Syftet med denna studie är att förstå lärares mål med högläsning samt hur eleverna upplever högläsningen i grundskolans årskurs 4–6. De frågeställningar jag kommer utgå ifrån är: Varför och hur ofta använder sig lärare av högläsning? Vilken typ av arbete sker under och efter högläsningen? Hur upplever elever högläsning? Till denna studie kommer både en kvalitativ och kvantitativ metod användas i form av intervju och enkät. Sammanlagt har tre lärare intervjuats med olika erfarenheter av högläsning och sammanlagt har 84 elever deltagit i enkätundersökningen. Intervjuerna transkriberades och sammanställdes och enkäterna sattes ihop till 12 tabeller, en tabell för varje fråga. Dessa resultat jämfördes senare för att finna likheter och skillnader. Arbetet utgår från det sociokulturella perspektivet. Resultatet visade att alla tre lärare arbetade på olika sätt där avkoppling och boksamtal nämndes och de hade ett eller flera mål med högläsningen. Eleverna såg inte på högläsning på samma sätt som lärarna gjorde men de har lärt sig flera saker med hjälp av högläsning så som nya begrepp och flera upplevde att deras läsmotivation ökades. Det framkom att lärarna har varit en inspiration till läsglädje och läslust för eleverna. Flera elever tar även högläsningsrollen hemma där de väljer att läsa högt för sina syskon. / The purpose of this study is to understand teachers' goals with reading aloud as well as how the pupils perceive reading aloud in compulsory school year 4–6. The questions that will be used to for this study are: Why and how often do teachers read aloud? What kind of work is done during and after the reading? How do pupils experience reading aloud? For this study, both a qualitative and quantitative method will be used in the form of interview and a survey. In total, three teachers were interviewed with different experiences of reading aloud and a total of 84 pupils participated in the survey. The interviews were transcribed and compiled, and the surveys were compiled into 12 graphs, one graph for each question. These results were later compared to find similarities and differences. The work is based on sociocultural perspective. The result showed that all three teachers worked in different ways where relaxation and book talk were mentioned, and they had one or more goals with reading aloud. The pupils did not look at reading aloud in the same way as the teachers did, but they have learned several things with the help of aloud reading such as new words and some feel that their reading motivation had gotten stronger. It turned out that the teachers have been an inspiration for reading enjoyment and reading pleasure for the pupils. Several pupils also take the role of reading aloud at home where they choose to read aloud to their sibling.
