Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur socialarbetare som arbetar med missbruk och beroende ser på deras eget samt andra socialarbetares bemötande. Vi undrar över vad deras erfarenheter av möten med människor med missbruks- och beroendeproblematik givit dem. Vi undrar även vilka komponenter som är viktiga att ta hänsyn till för att skapa ett gott möte. Syftet är även att undersöka socialarbetarens erfarenheter och tankar kring föreställningar om klienter med missbruks- och beroendeproblematik. Vi har valt att använda en kvalitativ ansats för att nå vårt resultat och använt oss av intervjuer som verktyg. Symbolisk interaktionism och stämplingsteorin är de två huvudteorier vi använt för att analysera vårt material. Vi har kommit till den slutsatsen att samtliga informanter ser bemötandet som något viktigt och vitalt för att kunna medverka till förändring för klienten och för att kunna bygga en relation. Vi har vidare insett att det förekommer lika många åsikter i ämnet som det finns personer och i detta fall socialarbetare. Alla informanter diskuterar viktiga komponenter för ett gott bemötande och är överrens om att en förlust av sådana komponenter kan skada relationen. Vid frågor rörande föreställningar och fördomar skiljer sig informanternas åsikter åt. Återigen kan vi se skillnad i personlig erfarenhet och moral och möjligen spelar ålder och arbetslivserfarenhet roll för detta. / The purpose of this essay is to examine how social workers, working with abuse and addiction, look at their, as well as others, responding and treatment to clients with this sort of problems. We wonder what their own experiences of meetings with this particular client has given them and which components that need to take place in order to make this meeting a good one. The purpose is also to examine the social workers experiences and thoughts on the perceptions of client’s with abuse or addiction problems. We have chosen to use a qualitative approach to reach our results and utilize interviews as a tool for this approach. Symbolic interactions and labeling theory are the two main theories used for analyzing the results. We have come to the conclusion that all of our informants for this essay see the meeting between themselves and their clients as the most important aspect to be able to make a different for the client and to build a relationship. We have furthermore realized that it exists as many different opinions as there are people, and in this case social workers. All of the informants does discusses imperative components to create a good meeting and do overall agree that ignorance of such can be fatal for the client and the relationship that are to be build. When asking about perception and prejudice the results poles apart between the informants. Again we can see that the difference is in personal experiences and moral, and perhaps in age and work experience.
