Viga mista de aço e concreto constituída por perfil formado a frio preenchido / Composite steel and concrete beam constituted by filled cold-formed steel section

Igor Avelar Chaves 20 January 2009 (has links)
The composite steel and concrete beams have been largely applied in buildings and bridges constructions, having also a large amount of theoretical and experimental investigations about the use of hot-rolled and welded shapes and shear connectors that are compatible with these members, as for an example, the stud bolt and channel connectors. In the cold-formed steel sections scope, the use of a composite steel and concrete solution is still premature, what makes necessary a higher degree of a structural behavior investigation and the adequacy of the theoretical solutions proposed, also for the composite steel and concrete hot-rolled and welded shapes. In Brazil, the high availability of steel sheets has pushed the employee of the composite system of cold-formed steel in small and mid-height buildings, however, because of classical conceptions, it doesn\'t lead too a more rational use of the system. It was investigated in this work a non-conventional lightweight composite system formed by hat-shaped beams filled with concrete, witch connection with the slab was done by means of two solutions: arc-shaped connectors in at bars welded too the section and arc-shaped connectors in round bars welded too the section. An analysis was conducted for evaluation of the structural behavior in the steel and concrete interface by push-out tests, and tests in simple two points supported beams for evaluation of the bending strength. The shear connectors showed ductility and resistance compatible with the analyzed composite beams and the stiffness and bending resistance responses for the given condition of full interaction showed that the full section plastification consideration describes with precision the structural behavior of the proposed system.

Estudos e aplicações de barras de aço coladas, como conectores em lajes mistas de madeira e concreto para tabuleiros de pontes / Studies and applications of glued-in steel rods on shear connectors in mixed wood-concrete deck bridges

Julio César Pigozzo 06 December 2004 (has links)
The traditional timber bridges in secondary roads in Brazil not always meet the requirements of quality, but they also demand continuing maintenance and adequacy to heavy traffic. The mixed wood-concrete deck bridges arise as a viable alternative, because of its low construction cost, low maintenance and its high strength and stiffness. In this thesis the mixed wood concrete deck bridge studies was showed in three phases: the experimental pull out strength results of bonded-in steel rods in wood beams studs; the experimental analysis on shear connectors in mixed wood concrete specimens using bonded-in steel bars and, designs; constructions and statistics tests on log-concrete composed deck bridges was presented too. In the anchorage studies the deformed and reinforced CA-50 steel bars, with the minimum yield strength of 500 Mpa, were bonded in holes drilled at angles of '0, 45 and 90 DEGREES' between the rods and on the direction of grain. Four types of epoxy and one polyurethane adhesive were used regarding the influence of the most significant variables. The specimens were made using Eucalyptus citriodora (ρ 12% = 1000 kg/'M POT.3') and Pinus oocarpa shiede (ρ 12% = 550 kg/'M POT.3') beams. The pull out tests presents the median strength results estimated by multiple regression analysis and the characteristics response estimated by the lower range in 90% of the confidence interval. In the shear connections studies were carried using specimens of push out tests type made of logs of Eucalyptus citriodora treated with CCA and medium strength reinforced concrete. The shear connectors, in three shapes, were made with CA-50 steel bars bonded-in wood with SIKADUR 32 fluid epoxi resin, with '45 DEGREES' angles between the rods and on the direction of grain. The results presents the ultimate limit strength median, the characteristics strength, the slip modulus medians and the characteristics slip modulus. In the studies, designs and executions of two mixed wood-concrete decks bridge were used made of logs of Eucalyptus citriodora treated with CCA, medium strength reinforced concrete, and bonded-in steel CA-50 rods, as shear connectors in X format. Same static loads test on the bridges was carried out using a truck. Deflections in the medium span transversal directions were measured and analytically predicted using an equivalent orthotropic plate model. The shear connectors showed high ultimate strength and stiffness and, uniforms failure mode. The results showed a very good performance to the composed log-concrete deck bridges, it confirms the fundamental hypothesis and calculus model suggested.

Therefore it has been of fundamental importance researches on the experimental behavior of structures. When conducting a strengthening column using dry with increased self-compacting concrete, it has the drawback of a sudden rupture by peeling the reinforcement. For this, there is a need to study the area of adhesion between substrate and to strengthen and create a way of preparation of this interface area so that the column increases may come into ruin in a ductile flexural as well as in a monolithic column. Thus, it s been developed an experimental study in the School of Civil Engineering, Federal University of Goias, based on analysis of the breaking loads, lateral displacements and deformations of the column of materials for different ways of preparing the surface of the column to be strengthened. The experimental phase of this work was based on testing of nine reinforced concrete columns, which are tested under flexural compression, with eccentricity of 60 mm. Two columns were used as reference columns, one with the original dimensions of the column and the other monolithic concreted in the thickness of a sin reinforced the others received a layer of 35 mm thick concrete selfcompacting in the compressed face. For preparation of the interchange between the two materials, it was proceeded with the scarification and the realization of grooves along this surface, where inserted connectors attached to transverse reinforcement of the columns, varying the position and quantity of the same. It can be concluded that not only quantity, but mainly the location of connectors used in the connection between the substrate and reinforcement, is essential for a good result of resistance and rupture mode.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Juliano Geraldo Ribeiro Neto.pdf: 2086855 bytes, checksum: 3b65b93d36838091f2c1204a03908f1c (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-03-19 / Among the many structural and building systems, it could be highlighted a system that is a mix of steel-concrete that allows the application of their structural and building advantages as whole. When dealing with metal structures, it was noticed some changes regarding the standards of the involved material due to its lack of availability; such measures do not always follow satisfactory structural procedures. This research aims to develop a comparative study about the technical behavior of mixed steel-concrete from three different types of shear connectors (U, U and L cold formed laminated), analyzing their connectors structural behavior when associated with steel beams (Type I rolled and concrete slab). There were three direct shear tests for each type of connector, resulting in a total of nine pieces, and six trials (simply supported composite beams) to evaluate the positive bending moment region. The results indicated that the direct shear behavior between the types of connectors had important and different outcomes; however, they didn t affect significantly the average resistance of the bending mixed beams. Such beams showed considerable results regarding their deflection and deformation performance due to their connectors stiffness.

Užití spojovacích prostředků v textech nerodilých mluvčích češtiny / The use of Connectors in the Texts of Non-Native Speakers of Czech

Pečený, Pavel January 2017 (has links)
Title: The Use of Connectors in the Texts of Non-Native Speakers of Czech Author: Pavel Pečený Department: Institute of Czech Language and Theory of Communication Faculty of Arts, Charles University Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Vladimír Petkevič, CSc. Abstract Over the last few years two learner corpora of authentic texts of non-native speakers of Czech have originated (MERLIN Corpus and CzeSL Corpus), giving linguists an important source of data for researching Czech as a foreign language. Ergo, for the first time it is possible to carry out the language analysis of non-native speakers of Czech using tools of corpus linguistics to formulate evidence-based research findings. The presented thesis uses that as well, focussing on the study and description of the use of connectors in the written text production of non-native speakers of Czech, being primarily based on evidence from the learner MERLIN Corpus, which as opposed to other corpora is characterized by linking written text production reliably to the proficiency levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), including the levels of A2-B2. At the same time, it also contains a text error annotation, thus enabling to ascertain what effect the language proficiency has on the extent of the repertoire and frequency of using connectors,...

Nilsson, Ida, Svensson, Dennis January 2020 (has links)
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether timber-concrete composite (TCC) floors made of a CLT-deck and casted concrete could be used as a method for increasing the use of wood as a building material. Method: The methods used in this degree project were a literature study, in which a number of laws of construction and different connector systems were studied, as well as an experiment consisting of bending tests on CLT-decks with casted concrete where SFS VB-screws were used as shear connectors. Results: The TCC-beams in the experiment behaved as expected and went to bending failure. The beams displayed an almost invisible slip between the materials despite the low composite action of 40,2 %. In addition, the beams had a higher bending stiffness on average than CLT-beams of the same height would have. Conclusions: Compared to floors made entirely of wood, TCC-floors with CLT add extra mass, stiffness, and better acoustic properties to the construction while maintaining a low floor height. The three main types of connectors used in TCC floors are mechanical, notched and glued-in connectors, where the latter two generates higher composite action and stiffness. Adhesive connection is another method with great potential, but there is still more research needed for this type of connection to be used.

On Thermal Bowing of Concrete Sandwich Wall Panels with Flexible Shear Connectors

Pozo, Fray 01 August 2018 (has links)
Thermal bowing, often referred as bulging or out-of-plane wall deflection, is a common issue on sandwich panel walls caused by a temperature differential between a building interior temperature and the environment. The stresses caused by temperature changes in concrete members are widely known in the practice of bridge design, but not on sandwich wall panels. For sandwich wall panel applications, it is common to have non-composite panels when the designer expects a high temperature gradient, what yields a less economical design, but reduces the bowing. This project aimed to validate current assumptions regarding the heat flow in sandwich wall panels and to perform a parametric study of panels subject to thermal loads, varying the concrete layer thickness, panel length, type of shear connector and separation using a commercial finite element analysis software. This study concluded that current design practices either underestimate, in the case of multiplying the classical mechanics values by the reported degree of composite behavior, or overestimate the real value of bowing, by using classical mechanics. A method for determining the percentage of composite action and compute bowing was developed and recommendations addressing the importance of this type of loading were given.

Behaviour of Headed Stud Shear Connectors in Composite Beam.

Lam, Dennis, El-Lobody, E. January 2005 (has links)
In composite beam design, headed stud shear connectors are commonly used to transfer longitudinal shear forces across the steel¿concrete interface. Present knowledge of the load¿slip behavior and the shear capacity of the shear stud in composite beam are limited to data obtained from the experimental push-off tests. For this purpose, an effective numerical model using the finite element method to simulate the push-off test was proposed. The model has been validated against test results and compared with data given in the current Code of Practices, i.e., BS5950, EC4, and AISC. Parametric studies using this model were preformed to investigate variations in concrete strength and shear stud diameter. The finite element model provided a better understanding to the different modes of failure observed during experimental testing and hence shear capacity of headed shear studs in solid concrete slabs

[en] X-SMIL: IMPROVING REUSE AND EXPRESSIVENESS IN HYPERMEDIA AUTHORING LANGUAGES / [pt] X-SMIL: AUMENTANDO REUSO E EXPRESSIVIDADE EM LINGUAGENS DE AUTORIA HIPERMÍDIA

HERON VILELA DE OLIVEIRA E SILVA 26 August 2005 (has links)
[en] This work is related to hypermedia authoring and execution environments, and its main focus is declarative document authoring. Aiming at improving the expressiveness and reuse in the specification of hypermedia documents, this work introduces the hypermedia authoring languages X-SMIL and NCL - Nested Context Language - version 2.1. Exploiting the concept of templates, X-SMIL allows the definition of new semantics for SMIL compositions, besides its usual seq, par and excl elements. X-SMIL templates are specified using an XTemplate profile, which extends the original idea of the NCL XTemplate language. Bringing new facilities for template definitions, this new profile is used to further improve the NCL language. X-SMIL also offers support for handling hypermedia relations as first-class entities, through the use of hypermedia connectors - brought to X-SMIL via the NCL XConnector module. Another important goal of this work is to present a framework to facilitate the development of XML documents parsing and processing tools. Based on this framework, several compilers were implemented, permitting, among other features, the conversion of NCL documents into SMIL or X-SMIL specifications and vice- versa.
