This thesis examines how hip-hop has become a meaningful cultural movement for contemporary artists in Hamburg and in Oldenburg. The comparative analysis is guided by a three-dimensional theoretical framework that considers the spatial, historical and social influences, which have shaped hip-hop music, dance, rap and graffiti art in the USA and subsequently in the two northern German cities. The research methods entail participant observation, semi-structured interviews and a close reading of hip-hop's cultural texts in the form of videos, photographs and lyrics. The first chapter analyses the manifestation of hip-hop music in Hamburg. The second chapter looks at the local adaptation of hip-hop's dance styles. The last two chapters on rap and graffiti art present a comparative analysis between the art forms' appropriation in Hamburg and in Oldenburg. In comparing hip-hop's four main elements and their practices in two distinct cities, this research project expands current German hip-hop scholarship beyond the common focus on rap, especially in terms of rap being a voice of the minority. It also offers insights into the ways in which artists express their local, regional or national identity as a culturally hybrid state, since hip-hop's art forms have always been the result of cultural and artistic mixture. The theoretical focus on spatiality, historicality and sociality moreover reveals different and even contradicting manifestations of cultural hybridity and identity in hip-hop. In particular, this thesis looks at the formation of post-hybrid identities, with which hip-hop artists aim at expressing their multiculturality as an inherent part of their life in Germany.

Este trabalho disserta sobre o ensino da arte contemporânea a partir de duas questões básicas: (1) por que se resiste ao ensino da arte atual, e (2) de que forma é possível exercê-lo. O tema proposto divide-se em cinco capítulos. O primeiro deles propõe uma reflexão sobre a união entre arte e educação, os valores resultantes dessa relação e seus objetivos. No segundo capítulo, são abordadas as heranças e as influências provenientes da Europa e da América do Norte, que contribuíram para a formação do ensino de arte no Brasil durante o período de 1816 a 1960. Em seguida, a pesquisa apresenta teorias contemporâneas do ensino da arte ainda sob a influência estrangeira, entre os anos 1960 e 1990. No Capítulo III, passamos aos fundamentos e conceitos de cultura e arte contemporânea para que, a partir deles, possamos entender o nosso tempo e a arte como pontos fundamentais para o pensamento do ensino de arte. O quarto capítulo traz, como exemplo de proposta curricular atual, o novo currículo de arte da Secretaria da Educação do Estado São Paulo para que, por meio de sua análise, possamos desenvolver uma reflexão sobre o ensino da arte contemporânea nas escolas formais. Essa reflexão é apresentada no quinto e último capítulo do presente estudo e não objetiva formular uma metodologia para o ensino de arte contemporânea, mas buscar aproximações e elaborar sugestões que possam auxiliar o educador de arte em sua prática de sala de aula. / This dissertation is a research study concerning teaching practices of Contemporary Art in Brazil and it was based on two major issues: (1) why is it that Art Professors still struggle when it comes to teaching Contemporary Art?, and (2) which are the teaching strategies to help them in their classroom practices? This theme has been divided into five chapters. The first chapter proposes some reflection concerning the association between education and art and looks at the values resulting from this union, as well as its main objectives. In the second chapter, we speak of the foreign heritage and influences from Europe and North America, which have contributed to the introduction of Art teaching in Brazilian schools, during the time between 1816 and 1960. Following that, this research presents the contemporary theories involved in the teaching practices of Art Education, still under foreign influence, between 1960 and 1990. In Chapter III, we move to the basics and concepts of Contemporary Culture and Contemporary Art in order to encourage better understanding of our present time and art, as the key point for deeper reflection on Art Education. The fourth chapter presents the content of the new Arts Curriculum of the Department of Education in the State of São Paulo, as a case study and example of current curriculum, so that, through its analysis, we could develop more thinking on current Contemporary Art teachings in formal schools. This reflection is presented in the fifth and last chapter of this study and does not aim to build a methodology for Contemporary Art teaching but to seek new approaches and offer suggestions which may encourage Art Professors in their classroom practices.

A partir de uma análise das práticas desenvolvidas nas aulas de artes, este trabalho apresenta uma proposta de fundamentação para o ensino de artes articulada à arte contemporânea. Objetiva-se configurar uma prática escolar em artes mais reflexiva e investigativa, que valorize a experiência, a abertura, a complexidade e o aprofundamento no processo produtivo e cognitivo dos alunos. É com origem no reconhecimento e na análise das mudanças, das características e das questões da arte contemporânea, da cultura contemporânea e do ensino de artes que se formula a proposta na qual a pluralidade de processos, de poéticas e de experimentações são concepções que permeiam tanto a discussão sobre arte quanto a produção dos alunos e para a qual são necessárias novas posturas, objetivos e metodologias mais atentos ao momento contemporâneo. / Starting from an analysis of practices developed in art school classes, this work presents a proposal of a foundation for art teaching articulated with contemporary art. It objects to create an artistic scholar practice more reflexive and investigative, which valorizes experience, openness, complexity and deepness in the students cognitive and productive process. Its from the recognition and analysis of the changes, characteristics and questions of contemporary art that its formulated the proposal where plurality of processes, poetics and experimentations are conceptions that permeate both the discussion about art and the students production, for which are necessary new postures, objectives and methodologies more aware with the contemporarys time

Siekiama išanalizuoti dainų švenčių poveikį šiuolaikinei Lietuvos kultūrai. Apžvelgus Dainų švenčių įstatymo (2007), Dainų švenčių tradicijos 2007-2011 metų tęstinumo programos patvirtinimo, internetinių svetainių (llkc.lt dainusventes.lt, unesco.lt), sub-regioninių konferencijų rezoliucijų (2005-2007) turinius paaiškėjo, jog dažniausiai minimos dainų šventės, švenčių tradicijos, tęstinumas ir ugdymas. Apklausus Lietuvos gyventojus išsiaiškinta, kad dainų šventės reikšmingos dėl puoselėjamų vertybių ir tradicijų, etninės kultūros pristatymo, tačiau pačios šventės siejamos su pažintimis, laisvalaikiu, kolektyvinėmis pramogomis ir pakiliais jausmais. Šiuolaikinės melodijos nėra itin vertinamos. Dainų šventės daro teigiamą poveikį visuomenei (psichologiškai saugo nuo išmykimo grėsmės). Teigiamos nuomonės formavimui pasitelkiama žiniasklaida, visuomenės ugdymas ir integravimas, renginiai susiję su dainų švenčių tradicijos tęstinumu. / The goal of the study is to analyze the influence of song festivals on the contemporary Lithuanian culture. The Song Festival Law (2007), Approval of the Song Festival Tradition Continuity Programme for 2007-2011, internet websites (llkc.lt, dainusventes.lt and unesco.lt) and sub-regional conference resolutions (2005-2007) were reviewed and conclusions were drawn that song festivals, festival traditions and its continuity and development were regarded the most. Lithuanian residents were surveyed and it became clear that song festivals are valued highly for the values and traditions that they uphold and the representation of ethnic culture. Also, the festivals were linked to new acquaintances, leisure time, group activities and elevated mood. However, contemporary pieces are not highly valued. Song festivals have a positive impact on the society (they provide psychological protection from the threat of disappearance). To form positive opinion the following tools are employed: press, society education and integration and events related to the continuity of song festival tradition.

Estabelecendo similaridades entre fenômenos culturais populares-urbanos emergidos em uma metrópole mundial (Nova York), e em uma metrópole periférica brasileira (Salvador), que se estabelecem a partir de semelhantes relações com a cidade, com a indústria cultural, e com dados políticos e econômicos, procura compreender dinâmicas presentes na produção cultural do atual estágio do capitalismo, caracterizada pela orientação da cultura para a produção de mercadorias. Sendo assim, propõe um estudo comparativo, em que o conteúdo estético é deixado em parênteses, em favor de análises de efeitos materiais, sociais e econômicos, apresentando-se também como uma tentativa de compreensão de lógicas existentes em outras manifestações culturais contemporâneas, além de se apresentar como uma contribuição para reflexões sobre possíveis vínculos entre Arte, Cultura e Cidade. / Establishing similarities between popular-urban cultural phenomena emerging in a world metropolis (New York), and a peripheral Brazilian metropolis (Salvador), which establishes from similar relations with the city, with the cultural industry, and with political and economic data, aims to understand cultural dynamics present in current stage production of capitalism, characterized by the guidance of culture for the production of goods. Therefore, it proposes a comparative study, in which the aesthetic content is left in parentheses, in favor of analysis of material, social and economic effects, as well as an attempt of understanding existing logic in other cultural contemporary events, in addition to performing as a contribution to reflections on possible links between Art, Culture and City.

No contexto polifacético e dialógico em que se imbricam identidade e alteridade, que papel teria o futebol de várzea na mediação das diferenças locais, que maneiras de fazer sua prática interatuam e modificam o espaço e as relações? Nesse sentido, este estudo é uma fenda que se abre como possibilidade de multiplicação e interconexão inter-territórios, estabelecendo pontes entre as fronteiras. Para tanto, a partida em busca dos percursos ou trajetórias das maneiras de fazer dos times São Gonçalo Beira Rio e Milionários Futebol Clube, cobrou-nos esmiuçar, através da entrevista oral, relatos da história de vida desses dois grandes times de futebol de várzea. Conceitos sobre espaço, território, táticas e estratégias e relatos orais, entre outros, oferecem amparo teórico advindo de áreas diversas, como História Cultural, Antropologia, Sociologia, Comunicação Social, Esporte e Lazer, de maneira que servem como forma de expansão das miradas variadas, da multiplicidade das linhas que se entrecruzam e se perdem, do jogo multifacetado que faz o futebol de várzea. Falamos da cartografia deleuziana, multidimensional, maneiras de fazer que se modificam no espaço social, que se conectam e desconectam em dimensões daquela comunidade. Considerando a força antagônica da palavra “conclusão”, introduzimos aqui reflexões finais como possibilidade de aberturas sobre a mediação cultural que o futebol de várzea tem exercido na comunidade São Gonçalo Beira Rio. Considerando, ainda, que neste Século XXI a força da cultura local, do cotidiano que evidencia o jogo social nas lutas pelo poder, jogo este em que identidades e diferenças se imbricam de maneira provocativa na arte de atuar no mundo contemporâneo. / Considering Culture and Leisure Football bifurcations that engender social events in its many facets, the objective is to investigate mediation from the grassroots football of community in São Gonçalo Beira Rio in Cuiaba, Mato Grosso, having as a research methodology field through the collection of oral histories. In the context multifaceted and diagnostic context in which overlap identity and otherness, what role would the grassroots football in the mediation of local differences, ways to make your practice interact and modify the space and relationships? In this sense, this study is a slit that opens a possibility of multiplication and interconnection inter - territories, establishing bridges between borders. To this end, starting in search of paths or trajectories of ways to make teams of the São Gonçalo Beira Rio and Milionários Futebol Clube, charged us scrutinize, through oral interviews, accounts of the life history of these two great football team the grassroots. Concepts of space, territory , tactics and strategies, and oral reports , among others, offer theoretical support coming from various fields such as Cultural History, Anthropology, Sociology, Social Communication , Sport and Recreation, so they serve as a way of expanding various targeted, the multiplicity of lines that intersect and are lost, the multifaceted game that makes football of the grassroots. We talk about Deleuze cartography, many dimensions ways to make that change in the social space, which connect and disconnect in dimensions that community. To take into consideration the antagonistic force of the word "conclusion", introduced here as final thoughts possibility of openings on cultural mediation football of the grassroots has played in the community of São Gonçalo Beira Rio. Considering, also that in this twenty-first century the power of the local culture, everyday that highlights the social power struggles in the game, this game where identities and differences overlap so provocative in the art of acting in the contemporary world.
