Der Ziel dieser Arbeit ist der Hausdorff Konvergenz der Juliamengen zu beweisen, als wir eine Familie von ganzen transzendenten Funktionen, die ein einziges Bakergebiet enthalten, approximieren. Als erstes geben wir eine vollständige dynamische Beschreibung der approximierenden transzendenten Funktionen und zeigen die Existenz von invarianten Gebiete unter der Iterierte. Insbesondere besitzen die approximierenden Funktionen ein Attraktionsgebiet, das gegen das Bakergebiet als Kernel im Sinn von Carathéodory konvergiert. Letztlich beweisen wir Hausdorff Konvergenz auf zwei Wege. Einerseits zeigen wir unter bestimmten Bedingungen der Fatoumenge der Grenzfunktion die Hausdorff Konvergenz der Juliamengen. Anderseits zeigen wir unter verschiedenen Bedingungen der Fatoumenge der Grenzfunktion die Hausdorff Konvergenz der ausgefüllten Juliamengen, die bezüglich der Bakergebiet oder der Attraktionsgebiet definiert sind.

Romantic literature's preoccupation with subjectivity, and the nature of the self, is recognised as influential on modern conceptions of consciousness, and in particular as a precursor of psychoanalysis. This thesis examines Coleridge's understanding of consciousness, as expressed in his prose, to demonstrate that he theorised a language of the unconscious; a non-arbitrary, authentic language that remains inaccessible. By comparing this idea with Julia Kristeva's theory of Semiotic language, the thesis will show that this language is indeed recognised in her psychoanalytic theory as a product of the unconscious. Most importantly, it will show that while Coleridge's supernatural poetry laments the inaccessibility of unconscious language, Kristevan theory demonstrates it to be present in that very poetry.

In this master thesis we investigate, from a topological point of view and without applying Thurston´s Theorem, why the mating of the so called basilica polynomial <img src="http://www.diva-portal.org/cgi-bin/mimetex.cgi?f_%7B-1%7D(z)=z%5E%7B2%7D-1" /> and the dendrite <img src="http://www.diva-portal.org/cgi-bin/mimetex.cgi?f_%7Bi%7D(z)=z%5E%7B2%7D+i" /> is shared with the mating of <img src="http://www.diva-portal.org/cgi-bin/mimetex.cgi?f_%7B-1%7D" /> and the dendrite <img src="http://www.diva-portal.org/cgi-bin/mimetex.cgi?f_%7B-i%7D(z)=z%5E%7B2%7D-i" />. Both these matings equal the rational map <img src="http://www.diva-portal.org/cgi-bin/mimetex.cgi?R_%7B3%7D(z)=%5Cfrac%7B3%7D%7Bz%5E%7B2%7D+2z%7D" />. The following discussion investigates feminist thought though equality, difference and androgyny, mapping the achievements, setbacks, advantages and disadvantages of each through the theories of Luce Irigaray, Jacques Derrida, Julia Kristeva and others. Discussing Irigaray’s thoughts on disrupting the symbolic with mimesis and hysteria, how intersubjectivity might be possible through a syntax appropriate to women and the possibility of female genealogies through craft and the work of artists such as Louise Bourgeois and Eva Hesse. Derrida’s theory of Différance is used in relation to Irigaray’s ideas of difference and morphology. And allows for Kristeva’s thoughts on the essential meaning of language being in a constant state of flux and therefore fixed definitions of identity are pointless. Virginia Woolf’s use of androgyny and modernist style in her writing is considered in relation to Kristeva’s ideas of revolutionary writing, and how destructive fixed gendered identities can be. The deconstruction of masculine and feminine identities is advocated by Kristeva to allow for individuality and subjectivity.
