International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 20-23, 2003 / Riviera Hotel and Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / This paper describes the basic foundations of XML and the description of a JAVA-based eXtensible Markup Language (XML) prototype application being developed for the E-9A Airborne Telemetry Platform. In an effort to eliminate proprietary software and improve range safety data exchange, radar boat position data will be tagged with pre-defined XML tags prior to being transmitted from the E-9A. Ground Station software will then processes the XML-based boat position data to provided a means for ground station personnel to strip out data and distribute over the Internet. Leveraging XML for a telemetry application provides the ability to efficiently exchange telemetry data between users over the Internet and harness a web based standard with industry wide support.

Trata-se de uma intersecção entre as reflexões acerca da subjetividade e a poesia portuguesa escrita por três autores do século XX: Artur do Cruzeiro Seixas, Herberto Helder e Mário Cesariny de Vasconcelos. Tomando como ponto de partida as considerações acerca da subjetividade inscritas na modernidade filosófica conforme estabelecidas pela filosofia cartesiana a pesquisa tem por objetivo subverter a visada racionalista, mediante as diretrizes da fenomenologia de Maurice Merleau-Ponty, e promover um elo entre corpo perceptivo e sujeito poético. Para tanto, importa considerar de que modo as figurações do corpo contribuem, na poética dos três autores mencionados, para uma ideia de constituição subjetiva mediante a escrita poética. Tendo em vista a linguagem poética como constituinte subjetivo, faz-se necessário refletir acerca das dobras da linguagem e da metalinguagem implicada nos processos de subjetivação. / This thesis proposes a theoretical approach that examines the intersection between the reflection of subjectivity and language, which I will analyze in the Portuguese poetry of twentieth century writers Artur do Cruzeiro Seixas, Herberto Helder and Mario Cesariny de Vasconcelos. Taking as a starting point, the philosophical debates over subjectivity as established by Cartesian philosophy, this paper aims to subvert its rationalism through the phenomenology guidelines of Maurice Merleau-Ponty. I promote a link between perceptive body and poetical subject. I argue that the body\'s figurations contribute to the poetics of the three authors mentioned and enables an idea of subjective constitution through poetical writing. Once the poetical language is considered as a subjective constituent, I then reflect on the folds of language and metalanguage implicated in the processes that constitute subjectivity.

Este trabalho, inserido no âmbito da Historiografia Linguística, visa a investigar as manifestações do prescritivismo na produção metalinguística de Gladstone Chaves de Melo. O corpus analisado abrange de A atual decadência da língua literária, ensaio com que Melo inicia sua produção científica, a Na ponta da língua, coletânea de artigos em que o filólogo e outros autores elucidam questões gramaticais e ortográficas. O método utilizado é aquele proposto por Swiggers (1990), para quem há dois tipos de procedimento historiográfico, os quais não se excluem: a focalização do contexto e a investigação do conteúdo. A fundamentação teórica tem como base a noção de horizonte de retrospecção, estabelecida por Auroux (2006), e, sempre que o material de estudo o permite, faz-se uso das proposições de Bakhtin (1999) e de Benveniste (1995). Comprova-se que, na produção metalinguística do autor, o prescritivismo manifesta-se em quatro fases: 1) Traços prescritivistas na descrição dialetológica, estágio em que o pesquisador realiza uma síntese das características dialetais brasileiras; 2) O estabelecimento da gramatização, fase em que o filólogo elabora uma gramática, formalmente constituída; 3) Os contornos prescritivos do novo semblante científico, etapa em que o autor se dedica à produção de um manual de Estilística; 4) A prescrição ululante, estágio em que o discurso prescritivista do pesquisador culmina, ao se enquadrar no gênero artigo jornalístico. Conclui-se que, em todos os tipos de estudo linguístico aos quais se dedicou, Melo empenhou-se em defender uma norma: a língua dos clássicos luso-brasileiros. / The aim of this work, inserted in the field of Linguistic Historiography, is to investigate the manifestations of prescriptivism in Gladstone Chaves de Melos metalinguistic production. The corpus at issue here ranges from A atual decadência da língua literária, the article with which Melo initiated his scientific production, to Na ponta da língua, a collection of articles in which the philologist and other authors elucidate grammatical and orthographical issues. The methodology is based on the theoretical studies by Swiggers (1990), who proposes two types of historiographical analysis that do not exclude each-other: focusing on context and content investigation. The theoretical part of this thesis is based on the retrospective horizon as established by Auroux (2006) and, whenever the material on focus allows, Bakhtins (1999) and Benvenistes (1995) propositions are also approached. The research comes to the conclusion that in the authors metalinguistic production prescriptivism manifests itself in four phases: 1) Traces of prescriptivism in the dialectological description, in which the author synthesizes the Brazilian dialectal characteristics; 2) The establishment of grammatization, in which the philologist proposes a formally constituted grammar; 3) The prescriptive contours of the new scientific appearance, in which the author aims at the production of a manual of Stylistics; 4) The obvious prescription, in which the authors ultimate prescreptivist discourse fits the journalistic article genre. It is the conclusion of this work that, in all kinds of linguistic studies made by Melo, he dedicated himself to defend one norm: the language of the Luso-Brazilian classics.

Ao atentar para os trabalhos de François Rastier (1976) e Antonio Vicente Pietroforte (2011) sobre a metalinguagem, observou-se, na poesia de Augusto de Campos, um interessante objeto de pesquisa sobre o assunto. Assim, é investigado como se dá a metalinguagem no decurso de sua obra, já que desde o concretismo o autor promoveu diversas mudanças em sua poesia, que investe massivamente na metalinguagem, proporcionando um rico material de pesquisa. A investigação se inicia pelo estabelecimento de uma sistemática das temáticas discursivas desenvolvidos por Rastier, em seguida, é promovida uma reflexão sobre a metalinguagem para chegar a uma formulação de uma tipologia metalinguística. A partir dessa tipologia, são analisadas poesias de Augusto de Campos, que foram eleitas por sua capacidade de representar um conjunto de poemas com características semelhantes. A hipótese que move as análises é a de que há um movimento de expansão metalinguística, orientada pela tipologia, ao longo da obra de Augusto de Campos. Ela possuiria uma relação com as escolhas da instância da enunciação, ou seja, as marcas enunciativas, omitidas e reveladas no discurso de Augusto de Campos, produziriam uma concentração ou uma expansão de seu campo metalinguístico. Essa tensão, metalinguística, é observada pelo viés da semiótica tensiva desenvolvida por Claude Zilberberg (2011). Desse modo, pelo uso da semiótica, como ferramenta de análise, é possível verificar os mecanismos operados na construção do sentido, na metalinguagem da poesia visual de Augusto de Campos. Porém, além de focar o uso da metalinguagem, esse trabalho tem como objetivo mostrar a engenhosidade linguística dos textos poéticos do autor, pois entender como se desenvolve diacronicamente suas mudanças poéticas e atentar de forma sincrônica para seu labor linguístico se torna importante tanto para o desenvolvimento de uma tipologia recémformulada quanto para a apreensão de uma obra tão inventiva. / By attending to the works of Rastier (1976) and Pietroforte (2011) on the metalanguage, it was observed, in the poetry of Augusto de Campos, an interesting object of research on the subject. It is investigated how does the metalanguage in the course of his work, since from the concrete poetry, the author made several changes in his poetry, which invests heavily in providing a rich metalanguage research material. The investigation begins by establishing a system of discursive themes developed by Rastier, then promoted a reflection on the metalanguage to reach a metalinguistic formulation of a typology. From this typology, we analyze the poetry of Augusto de Campos, who were elected by their ability to represent a set of poems, with similar characteristics. The hypothesis that drives the analysis is that there is a movement of expansion metalinguistic, guided by the typology, along the work of Augusto de Campos. It possess a relationship with the enunciative choices omitted and revealed in the discourse of Augusto de Campos producing a merger or an expansion of its field metalinguistic. This tension, metalinguistic, is anchored in tensive semiotics developed by Claude Zilberberg (2011). With the use of semiotics as a tool of analysis, it is possible to verify the mechanisms operated in the construction of meaning in the metalanguage of visual poetry of Augusto de Campos, but in addition to focusing on the use of metalanguage, this paper aims to show the linguistic ingenuity of the poetic texts of the author, because understanding how it develops its changes diachronically poetic, metalinguistic via thematic, and look synchronously language for his labor becomes important for the development of a typology newly formulated also for the apprehension of a work so inventive.

Orientador: Maria de Lourdes Ortiz Gandini Baldan / Banca: Sérgio Vicente Motta / Banca: Fabiane Renata Borsato / Resumo: Partindo da análise da estrutura narrativa do romance Budapeste, de Chico Buarque, este trabalho procura discutir o papel que a metalinguagem desempenha nos diversos níveis da obra: desde a caracterização de personagens e ambientes (ghostwriters, academia de letras, lançamentos de best-sellers etc.), passando pela fundamentação dos conflitos (aquisição de uma língua estrangeira, paixão pelas palavras), até chegar ao ponto de interferir na própria construção do espaço-tempo diegético. Essa interferência atua no sentido de favorecer a articulação de uma espécie de jogo, cujo ponto alto se encontra no final do livro, quando então se depara com uma estrutura que se fecha em abismo, servindo ao mesmo tempo como resolução da trama, revelação da história principal e convite à releitura. Com isso é gerado um acúmulo semântico que desautomatiza a recepção, tal como ocorre na poesia, reforçando a idéia da centralidade das questões relativas à língua e à linguagem dentro da obra / Abstract: Starting with narrative structure‟s analysis of Budapeste (Budapest), Chico Buarque‟s romance, this work intent to argue the paper that metalanguage plays inside the work, in all levels: since characters and ambient characterization (ghost-writer, literary society, best-seller's casting, etc), passing by fundamentation of conflicts (learning a foreign language, word‟s passion), until the point that it interferes in the construction of diegetic time-space. This interference works in a way to promote a kind of play‟s articulation, that has its high moment in the end of the book, when there is a structure that closes an abysm, serving like trama's resolution, revelation of principal history and re-ready invite. Then, the semantic accumulation created interrupts automatized reception, as occurs in poetry, reinforcing the core idea about langue and language in the book / Mestre

This thesis observes grammatical terminology which can be found in the contemporary textbooks of the French language which have been published in the Czech Republic and France. Primarily, it deals with the question of word classes and their interpretation in the analyzed books. It works with the terminology (French and Czech) of the word classes. The crucial theme of this work is metalanguage used not only in the explications of the particular items of grammar but also in the tasks for the grammar exercises. The aim of this work is to find out a certain extent the textbooks use the linguistic terminology to. It also tries to discover whether they use national grammatical tradition. Last but not least it tries to learn whether the textbooks include the complete list of word classes.
