Revolução e utopia : embates de um professor comunista em Aquidauana durante a ditadura militar (1964-1985) / Revolution and utopia : clashes of a communist teacher in Aquidauana (1964-1985)

We aim in this thesis to analyze the effects of economic transformations in the Midwest region of Brazil, between the years 1964 to 1985. However, retreat a while in time to understand how the political objectives of Vargas and Juscelino, respectively responsible for the March far West and the industrialization of the country, influenced the constitution of the coup d¿état of 1964. We clarify so, from the theoretical-methodological point of view, we seek reference to the authors of unorthodox Marxism, dialoguing with authors like Hobsbawm, Thompson, Gramsci and Williams. The central documentation used at work is a military police investigation (IPM), converted to process crime brought against the communist teacher Enio Cabral in 1964, but were also used other sources such as the Brazil-West Magazine (Revista Brasil-Oeste), PCB documents and interviews of the defendant and the Judge of the analyzed case. We tried to understand, through this research, the process of modernization of the Midwest and its interweaving with national developmentalism and the March far West, seeks to understand how this conservatism in economic and social plan also influenced the politics and education and produced in the region conditions for support of authoritarian regimes. Therefore, first we try to present the research subject, focusing on his social background, school education and his first contacts with the PCB ideas. Then, we seek to scrutinize the idea of a conservative modernization from the dialogue with the sources, mainly from Brazil-West magazine, and the historiography, which discussed the theme of dictatorship in southern Mato Grosso. After, we present some aspects of education in the context of dictatorship, demonstrating how the teachers were the object of persecution by the military, relating to the events that followed in Aquidauana city. Finally, we seek to visualize how the State and its representatives understood in contradictory ways the actions of Enio and other communists of that period from the locked debate between prosecution and defense, understanding them as a dispute, not merely legal, but between two contradictory projects of society, that is, between capitalists and socialists / Doutorado / Filosofia e História da Educação / Doutor em Educação

O milagre anunciado: publicidade e a ditadura militar brasileira (1968-1973) / The miracle announced: advertising and the Brazilian Military Dictatorship (1968-1973)

Cartoce, Raquel Elisa 29 May 2017 (has links)
The objective of this research is to understand, through commercial advertisements published in magazines of great circulation between the years of 1968 and 1973, the relations established between the Brazilian dictatorship and important sectors of Brazilian civil society: the middle and upper classes, large consumers of the advertised commodities and privileged interlocutors of the advertisements, in which are expressed social imaginaries, moral values, wishes and expectations; the wide range of advertisers, with their distinct market and ideological goals, ranging from the dictatorial government to the national and international bourgeoisie and its intersections; and the advertising sector, which in the creation of the ads brings together not only the goals and expectations of the other two subjects, but also express meanings and issues inherent to the profession itself. The result is a singular cultural product that revealing the political and social tensions being in the dictatorial context, especially in the years of the \"economic miracle\", which condense such tensions into the double nickname of \"golden years\" and \"years of lead,\" and which compose the temporal limits of this research.

Alberti, Lucimar January 2017 (has links)
In "Discourses on Health in the pages of Veja Magazine (1968 - 1974)" I deal with health discourses, published in a vehicle of communication that was emerging in Brazil in the late of 1960s, in this case, Veja Magazine. Taking into account the few health productions in Brazil during the selected period, this dissertation aims to verify and characterize the discourses on health existing in the period and linked in the Magazine, mainly in the section entitled "Medicine". For this, I use in this academic work some assumptions specific to Cultural Studies, such as the understanding that magazines educate people through their reports, offering not only information but also ways to understand the world. In addition, I use the concept of discourse to map what was thought and what was said, even broadly, about health in Brazil and in the world. I also try to demonstrate how Veja Magazine's reports and the discourses that articulated maintained a strong relationship with the historical moment of the analyzed period.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the historical significance of the celebrations of the Sesquicentenary of Independence of Brazil in the context of the military dictatorship, seeking to analyze the question "What is the historical significance of the commemorations of the Sesquicentenary of Independence of Brazil in the context of the military dictatorship in Paraíba with special emphasis on Campina Grande? ", Specifically aimed at explaining how the 150th anniversary of Brazil's independence in Campina Grande / PB developed, to contextualize the construction of the party and the role of political propaganda, and to problematize how the military dictatorship appropriated history. Theoretically, this project fits in the perspective of Marxist Social History, because it tries to throw a critical eye on how the military regime appropriated the commemorations referring to the sesquicentennial and the ostensive propaganda to generate a sympathetic approach with the people. We thus seek to understand the theme through the concepts of ideology, hegemony and organic intellectual of António Gramsci, aiming at a political-ideological perspective on the theme. To do so, the periodical "Jornal da Paraíba", corresponding to the month of September of 1972, will be used as the main research source. Other sources used are the Diário da Borborema newspaper, Minutes of the Municipal Council of Campina Grande and correspondences Sent and received by the Historical and Geographic Institute Paraibano (IHGP) for the year 1972. Campina Grande and Paraíba were also part of the context of celebrations and through the analysis of the sources we verified how the state media and the authorities were conniving with what Was occurring in Brazil in front of the military plans. Through the reflections proposed in the research, we identified that such moment was celebrated throughout the country and, through propaganda, served as a sort of "sympathetic" approach of the military regime with the popular strata, celebrating its own history and especially the present and Future plans.

O ethos do compositor da música popular brasileira no contexto da ditadura militar / The ethos of brazilian popular music composers in the military dictatorship

Maria Aparecida Rocha Gouvêa 22 August 2012 (has links)
During the military dictatorship in Brazil 1964 to 1985, the arts, especially the music produced in this country, did not agree on the military regime. To engender opposition to such regime, composers had to use linguistic, discursive and stylistic resources that subliminally persuade the public, since explicit manifestations against the regime were targets of censorship. This works aims at analyzing the discursive ethos of Brazilian Popular Music composers in this historical period, trying to identify the discursive marks and persuasive strategies used in these songs. Thus, it is our intent to prove that the construction of ethos is embodied through linguistic and discursive choices and through the interdiscursive and intertextual relations constructed by the composers. The research is based on a literature review, drawing on a qualitative methodology, which takes into account the historical and cultural reality of such period, and its corpus consists of twenty-three songs. In this study, historical, cultural and linguistic-discursive principles were considered, especially the ones offered by the French Approach to Discourse Analysis. It is concluded that during the Brazilian military regime, besides strategies attributed to the artistic domain, composers have used specific strategies to eschew the censorship and to preserve their faces, constructing, then, ethe that have survived in the Brazilian memory and have been recognized as symbols of resistance to the military regime

Through the works of Plínio Marcos and Roniwalter Jatobá, produced literary works and theater pieces in the first two decades of military rule and questioning the violence in the class struggle, both as a tool of repression of the ruling class as well as workers' resistance tool. The two writers lived in the period of the Military Dictatorship, and sought to express their anxieties, fears and indignities against the changes wrought by the 1964 coup. Their protagonists are the poorest and most marginalized workers in society: cripples workers and unemployed, prostitutes and pimps, waste pickers. Through these characters the authors compose narratives that sensitize the reader and help the historian to understand various issues about the changes social, political and economic suffered by workers in that context. The violence that the writers reveal in yours works is not the torture carried out by the military, but the violence caused by poverty and marginalization that a significant portion of the working class was subjected in the Dictatorship. These workers compose the lumpenproletariat, according to the reflections on the concept of Karl Marx in Book I of Capital. I also discuss the violence as a form of working class resistance, reflecting on their meanings / Esta pesquisa busca discutir o tema da violência no período da Ditadura Militar no Brasil, a partir de dois tipos de fontes: obras literárias e peças de teatro.
