Význam pohádek v mateřské škole / The meaning of fairy tales in kindergarten

Hánová, Monika January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the question of how fairy tales affect preschool children. The theoretical part of the work presents the definition, history, development, types and forms of fairy tales, its function and meaning. It also presents the archetypes in fairy tales, the meaning of fairy tales in kindergarten, or the process of reading. Other chapters of the theoretical part of the work characterize the individual developmental periods of the child according to developmental psychology and importance is given mainly to the period of preschool age. The work also deals with the influence of fairy tales on the development of children's thinking, fantasy, attention, memory or communication. The empirical part is processed in the form of qualitative research, the output of which is a project week focused on the importance of fairy tales in a particular kindergarten and interviews with teachers.

Fairy Tales en pointe: Fairy Brides, Ballerinas, and Ballets that Made the Tale

Smith, Jacqueline Nichole 10 April 2020 (has links)
The relationship between ballet and fairy tale is by no means a new or unique discovery—to either dance history or literary studies. However, aside from relatively brief mentions of ballets as examples of fairy-tale adaptation, ballet's relevance to fairy-tale studies has been somewhat undervalued. While scholars often relegate ballet to a smaller part in fairy tale's influence through the performing arts, fairy-tale ballet deserves to have its own, independent academic conversation because ballet contributes uniquely to both fairy-tale history and canon. Ballet can be credited with both giving new life to an old tale and creating a brand new one through an amalgamation of formalistic fairy-tale motifs and figures—particularly when it comes to female figures. Through an analysis of nineteenth-century Romanticism, fairy-tale form, and the narratives created by three of the most famous fairy bride ballets--La Sylphide, Giselle, and Swan Lake--we can distinguish how Romantic ballet affects fairy-tale studies because of the special conditions this "feminized" art placed on narrative and character. The pervasion of the fairy bride character and motif in ballet indicates a potentially unique tale type, and these three fairy brides together reveal a different dimension to our view of female fairy-tale characters by actively shaping their own stories according to Romantic values that place them outside of traditional fairy-tale roles. Thus, fairy-tale ballets significantly substantiate Romantic imagination beyond the bounds of literary form, and therefore both emphasize and nuance the fairy-tale female paradigm by making unique contributions to the fairy-tale canon.

Beautifully blonde or enchantingly ugly : re-imagining the Swedish nation through text and image in the illustrated fairy tale annual Bland tomtar och troll (Amongst gnomes and trolls)

Anderson, Matthew Owen 09 October 2014 (has links)
Much like oft-repeated quotes or catchy movie soundtrack tunes, famous illustrations often outweigh and outlast their original contexts and establish themselves as iconic cultural reference points for generations to come. Over the last 100 years in Sweden, John Bauer’s fairy tale illustrations have maintained a strong grip on that nation’s popular imaginary through over thirty reprint editions, museum exhibits, stamp collections, and, of course, stylistic imitations. While their century-old narrative contexts remain relatively unknown and uninteresting to contemporary audiences, his beautifully blonde children, enchantingly ugly trolls, and stark, Swedish landscapes continue to be bought, sold, and validated as embodying a typically Swedish relationship to nature. Why John Bauer’s work has remained so influential over time while the publication they appeared in has faded is a question that many of his biographers have attempted to answer. Harald Schiller, the most thorough of these, claims that “when one sees [his] images in black and white or color, they capture one’s interest to such a degree that there is none left for the text” (152). This essay uses Schiller’s comment as a starting point to pose one answer to this question. By exploring the dynamic potential of the relationship between Bauer’s images and their early twentieth-century contexts, it locates the artist’s appeal over against his narrative guidelines and the historical movements of his time. To this end, its comparative analysis of the textual and visual narratives in the illustrated Swedish fairy tale annual, Bland tomtar och troll (Amongst Gnomes and Trolls) explores how the interplay between the historical pregnancy of its fairy tale stories and the Swedophilic affects of John Bauer’s illustrations contributes to the project of imagining and proliferating a new Swedish national identity at the beginning of the twentieth century. / text

Como você está diferente, vovó! Aspectos sócio-históricos dos contos populares / How you look different, grandma! Socio-historical aspects of popular tales

Pinheiro, Nárgyla Maria Lourenção Pimenta 17 August 2012 (has links)
It is of general knowledge that the fairy tales transmit important messages filled with ideology that, sometimes, differ significantly from one another. This happens due to the time or place where the production is contextualized, as it is possible to be seen in the variation of the Little Red Riding Hood tale, those from the medieval oral tradition, to those adapted by Perrault or brothers Grimm, and even the contemporary versions. Tracing a historic profile of the changes in the fairy tales of popular origin starting in France, passing through Germany, Portugal and culminating in Brazil the present study aims to verify the transformations that happened in these societies, showing how they were represented in the tales and what messages they pass on. For the present study, Literary Comparatism and elements of Literary Theory will be used through a sociological and historical look. After the definition of a theoretical-methodological picture and a conceptual basis, we will move on to a brief analysis of the different societies and how their social practice can, in a certain way, be represented in the fairy tales.

This research is a study about the transformations of fairy tales in the society in process of mediatization. Our central objective is to investigate these changes from the movement of fairy tales, referring to their historical course. It means the flow of fairy tales, their updates and stays inscribed in circuits, namely in the flow forward (BRAGA, 2012) through multi-devices that reiterate the valorization and organize new forms of contact, modifying the public itself and its role. To that end, we selected a fairy tale for the formation of our survey, being: the animation "Frozen: a freezing adventure" (Disney, 2013). This piece of work stands out as one of the most popular fairy tales nowadays and is among the ones that generate the most media and non-media products. The research problem guiding our study is: How the meanings about Frozen built from the tension among grammars of production and recognition? Highlithing this problem, we return to the analysis of Frozen animation based on three instances: from book to animation; on animation and its circulation and, finally, the inscription of the fairy tale in a logic of consumption. As theoretical contributions we mobilize in particular the concepts of media society, mediatization and circulation with attention to Latin American authors. The work gives clues not only of changes in the media (from the printed to the digital book), but also in the very meaning of the story, which is increasingly co-managed by the social actors.

Os contos de fadas na televisão: procedimentos de criação de “Once Upon A Time” / Fairy tales on television: the creative processes of “Once Upon A Time

No. of bitstreams: 1 Karina Bousso.pdf: 4880886 bytes, checksum: b425b5ddc0b84c7ba66d578a88b55408 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-06-27 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo / The purpose of this research is to study the creative processes of narrative productions in the television series Once Upon a Time. In this series, created by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, we face a new format to narrate the fables and tales that belong to the fictional tradition. The authors extend the biography of the characters and reconstitute the myth of Happily Ever After. It is believed that by using the methodology of the process of creation presented by Salles (2008, 2011), it will be possible to investigate the characteristics of the creative actions of appropriation of the roots of fairy tales, in order to determine the audiovisual procedures used in the adaptation for television media. The focus of the study is the analysis of versions of Charles Perrault, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, as well as the archives available regarding the production of the show, to examine the course of the authors in the creation and production of this form of entertainment. The theoretical basis of the thesis is based on three center lines: the reflections on the process of creation as a network construction based on a semiotic approach (Salles); thinkers discussing the imaginary of myths, fairy tales, legends and fables (Propp, Zipes); and finally, discussions related to postproduction (Bourriaud). Thus reflections and analyses concerning the process of creation of the co-creators are presented in The Cultural Networks of Fairy Tales: a look at Once Upon A Time; the way in which the image of the characters is built in Audiovisual Resources of Appropriation on the Construction of Characters; and finally, how all these points come together to create the magical environment within the show, in the chapter Audiovisual Resources of Appropriation on the Construction of Magic / A proposta da presente pesquisa é estudar os processos criativos das produções narrativas no seriado televisivo Once Upon a Time.

Poetika místa v pohádkách bratří Grimmů a ve vybraných pohádkách Karla Jaromíra Erbena / The poetics of space in the fairy tales of the Grimm brothers and in the selected fairy tales of Karel Jaromír Erben

Ledinská, Šárka January 2012 (has links)
The poetics of space is a very interesting field, which has been so far marginalized from the theoretic point of view in comparison with other types of the poetics of literary work. Fragmentary information devoted to this theme has often been hidden in theoretic works that applied the poetics of space to some specific literary works. To be able to start focusing myself on the poetics of space in fairy tales, I had to lay the basis for the poetics of space in the first part of my thesis. The basis is built by the chapters in which I was concerned with the poetics of literary work and where I collected, organized and made transparent actual theoretic information about the poetics of space and its parts, space and place. I used these chapters for the specification of the terms used in my thesis. That specification enabled me to focus on the poetics of space in the fairy tales in the second part of thesis. As my research material I chose Grimms' fairy tales and eight Erben's fairy tales. I used this material to verify the relevance of particular hypotheses. In terms of my research I concerned on topics such as the poetics of space from the wider and the closer point of view, the boundaries of the fairy tales' space, the description and the layout of the space, the main and the side character in the...

Snövit : från undersaga till bildberättelse / Snow White : from Fairytale to Picture Story

Pakiam, Barbro January 1999 (has links)
Snow White through Grimm and Disney - A Comparative Study This essay attempts to discern the differences regarding six Swedish versions of the fairy-tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs over a period of 150 years. Focus is placed on structural transformations through time and media according to the analytical theories of Vladimir Propp. Attention is also given to former research done on the impact of the fairy-tale on the child from a psychological and social point of view. Of interest is the historical background of the tale, commencing with oral tradition, and how this was dealt with by the Grimm brothers. Three of the versions used for this comparative study are variants of the Grimm tale, and three belong to Walt Disney productions, i.e. the film and its picture stories. The aim of the comparison is to clarify how and why this tale is retained to the present.
