Aplikace outsourcingu při externím zajišťování tiskových služeb. / The application of the outsourcing at an external providing of printing services

Hendrych, Igor January 2009 (has links)
This thesis deals with problems of the outsourcing of printing services. The capital purpose is to create a comprehensive metodology which describes how and why to outsource the printing services. The contentual part of the thesis is divided into five chapters from which the first two are theoretical. The first chapter defines the term "Outsourcing" in general, the second chapter describes the particular methodology of the outsourcing of an ICT which is a part of the methodology of a MMDIS and divides the process of the outsourcing into eleven steps. The practical part begins with the vastest chapter of the thesis. There are described my experiences with the outsourcing of the printing services and marginally with a project management as well. Taking up the chapter where a confrontation between the theoretical and practical part is done. Based on the confrontation there is a following chapter where the recommended methodology for proceeding in the outsourcing of the printing services is done. The methodology includes basic rules and recommendations which can be helpful not only for the process of the outsourcing of the printing services itself but also for considering whether to displace this range to an external contractor.

Backsourcing intellectual capital : Is the damage already done, or can it be prevented?

Andersson, Daniel, Eriksson, Pontus January 2017 (has links)
In a globalized world where competition has risen, it has become more and more popular for companies to outsource non-core activities. The main reasons for doing so are due to cost reductions, improving organizational focus, better flexibility and improve product quality, delivery and service. As outsourcing is increasingly growing in popularity, the problems associated is more prominent. For some companies outsourcing is a bridge to all the related benefits, while for some companies it can be a nightmare. When the expectations aren't met, the focal firm will have to re-evaluate the decision. The decision to will therefore to renegotiate with the vendor, switch to another vendor or to backsource. Backsourcing is when activities which previously has been outsourced is brought back in-house. Previous research on backsourcing has focused on functions such as information technology and information system. Little attention has been given towards production and the risk involved. In order for the vendor to produce, knowledge need to be shared. This can be complicated for knowledge-intensive firms considering their value creating resource is knowledge which derives from their intellectual capital. As the know-how of the product is shared to the vendor, the research made is transferred. If the knowledge-intensive firm is dissatisfied with the entered outsourcing agreement, and wishes to end the agreement the know-how will still continue to be shared. Causing the focal firm to feel locked-in with the vendor. If they choose to backsource, the risks related to the shared knowledge appears. As the knowledge is already shared, the question if it can be prevented arises. Which leads to our research questions: RQ1: What are the risks related to intellectual capital when backsourcing? RQ2: How can these risks be prevented? To answer these questions, a case study from a knowledge-intensive firm who faces this problem is examined with our theoretical framework. The risk identified were opportunistic behaviour with the shared intellectual capital, reputational risk, risk with reintegrating intellectual capital, investment risk and risk from earlier contractual arrangement. To prevent these revealed to be difficult but not impossible. To summarize the preventing measure identified, they revolve around legal protection from well-written contracts and patents, careful execution plan, use of external expertise and by avoiding high investment through establishing a pilot plant.

Investissement direct et sous-traitance internationale dans les pays du Sud : le cas de la Tunisie. / Direct Investment and international outsourcing in the South : the case of Tunisia.

Rahmouni, Oubeid 20 July 2011 (has links)
Since the early eighties, the liberalization of the world economy has led to a rapid evolution of the FDI flows essentially to the developing countries. This growth is the result of a structural change of the economic activity towards an international vertical specialization. Consequently, a new principle of analysis has emerged to arbitrate between the FDI and the international outsourcing. Our work is interested in the case of Tunisia and examines the evolution of the FDI inflows after the signing of the partnership agreement with the EU in 1995. This agreement represents a landmark in the liberalization process of the Tunisian economy meant to strengthen the traditional economic determinants. Our empirical study of the inflows between 1992 and 2008 for the 58 countries originating in the foreign investment in Tunisia shows that these investments have concentrated mainly on the sector of energy and on the textile and clothing industry. The main motivation of the foreign investors remains the search for cheap labour in a logical international division of labour. Furthermore, apart from some privatization operations generating important flows and concentrated in telecommunications and cement, the process of liberalization of the economic activity didn't have the expected effects on the incoming FDI flows.

Transaction costs in the mining sector in South Africa

Mwamba, Alain Donatien Tshiamala 28 July 2012 (has links)
The present research identified transaction costs in the mining sector in South Africa and provided means for mitigation. A review, discussion and evaluation of theories related to transaction costs such as vertical integration, outsourcing, price, long and short terms contracts was undertaken under literature review. A qualitative study, with two research questions, on eight companies of which four precious metals and minerals, two metallic minerals and two non-metallic minerals, was performed and provided among other results: • Cost of doing business in South Africa is high. • Site specificity and physical-asset specificity are the most influential specialised investments in the mining sector. • Long term contracts are the most appropriate to mitigate transaction costs. • Costly bargaining is the most important implication for all specialised investments. • Exchange rates, Mining Charter, BEE, legislation, taxes, royalties, fuel and electricity increases are cited as reasons for high transaction costs. • The small sample is a big concern as it does not allow generalising the results to over all mining companies. The South Africa’s government, as a regulator and a major stakeholder should revisit the mining charter and therefore the B-BBEE act as this clearly appeared to be a barrier to the development of mining companies. / Dissertation (MBA)--University of Pretoria, 2012. / Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) / unrestricted
