Architektura školy jako vyjádření pedagogického konceptu / School Architecture as an Educational Concept

What are the modern architectural trends in foreign and domestic learning enviroments? That is the main question of this thesis that is trying to merge both architectural and pedagogical points of view. Even though this topic is becoming more and more actual, it can still be hardly found in czech literature. This thesis analyses new trends in school projects and how they align to the schools educational concept. The theoretical part explains the terms of educational enviroments, educational concept and shows the main architectural trends in school designs. The analytical part presents ten foreign schools looking into the alignment between architectural concept and educational concept. In the research section nine recently built school projects are presented, eight czech and one austrian primary schools are investigated via interviews and observations. The research comes to a conclusion that according to the new changing educational reguirements, most of the examined school projects implements some new features like relaxation places for pupils and places for improving students social and personal skills. Zdeňka Engelthalerová Goal of Diploma Thesis: The purpose of this study is to investigate attitudes and experiences of teachers towards teaching athletics in primary schools. Methodology: Data was collected in the form of questionnaires adresssed to 72 teachers and 123 pupils of primary schools from Central Bohemian Region. The teachers were questioned about their attitudes towards the quality of sports equipment in their primary schools and their attitudes and experiences towards teaching athletics. Pupils were questioned about their enthusiasm for physical education, especially for athletics. Conclusions: The findings conclude that the quality of sports equipment in primary schools is low and teachers (graduate of Pedf UK) are not well educated in teaching athletics. The findings also conclude that the attitude of teachers towards teaching athletics influences quality of teaching athletics. Prestiž učitelství pro mateřské školy / Prestige of Nursery School Teaching

This thesis is devoted to the teaching profession with a focus on nursery school teaching. The theoretical part contains information about teaching as a profession, focusing directly on the prestige of nursery school teachers and describes the contemporary aspects of prestige. Finally, it is described in detail the development of the profession preschool teacher, as a source of ongoing professionalisation of teaching. The main objective of the research is to compare how the prestige of pre-primary teachers evaluated by teachers from other educational levels and preschool educators themselves. Furthermore, to determine how different the results of the investigation work of the author and poll by the Centre for Public Opinion Research (Centrum pro výzkum veřejného mínění - CVVM) at the Institute of Sociology of the prestige of the profession of 2013 and 2016. Design survey is mixed. The method is a questionnaire, structured interviews and document analysis. The results show the relative agreement with research by CVVM. Respondents rated significantly differently just 4 professions and teaching professions rated slightly higher than in the original survey. Životní příběhy ředitelek mateřských škol / Life Stories of Preschool Directresses

This thesis examines life stories of three chosen preschool directresses. Based on life story interviews it brings and partially compares their life stories, picks out the critical incidents and characteristic features of their lives, gives insight into individual phases of their director's role and document their reflection of the role itself. The in - depth interviews focus on complex understanding of individual's life. The directresses are examined based on both their professional development and personal experiences. This thesis documents own interpretations of life stories; it is a source of self-reflection for the examined directresses. It also serves as an inspiration source for directors newly in the office. It is formally divided into two parts: the theoretical one gives an overview of life-story interview as a methodological approach applied. Furthermore, it is also devoted to the director as an individual being defined mainly in the Czech School Law. It also represents the existing results of both teachers' and directors' life stories research. The research part represents an analysis of life story interviews with three chosen preschool directresses in connection to the research questions.

The goals of this thesis are: to find out what role do information and communication technologies (ICT) play in learning and students' preparation for school and in what conditions and means are students using ICT for school preparation in non-school settings; and to show the current state of digital technology usage by students for school purposes, but also to hint at the potential challenges in the implementation and usage of information and communication technologies. The theoretical part consists of three aspects; it introduces the terms preparation for school and learning using information and communication technologies; analyzes the current relation of curricular documents to using ICT in schools, and summarizes results from thematically-related research. The research part of this thesis presents the results of the quantitative and qualitative research inquiry into selected high-school students and their teachers/educators. The goal of this inquiry was to determine what methods and in what conditions are students using ICT in their school preparation.

Presented master thesis tackles common piano practicing issues among students at the first stage of piano learning. The main purpose of the study is to investigate the difficulties that block students' progress, and analyze proper approaches that improve students' musical capabilities. The practicing issues are scientifically categorized into three categories: technical, interpretative and general practicing and performing issues, and are further analyzed from physical, psychological, and most importantly, educational perspective. In addition, contemporary piano teaching methods from various countries are explored and various methodologies and teaching philosophies are investigated and presented. Effective approaches, suitable strategies and practicing suggestions are provided in the study for both teachers and learners. Chinese piano educators can use this study to enrich their teaching methodologies and to develop new piano teaching methods.

It explains the theoretical concept of school readiness, presents the possible consequences of inadequate readiness of a child enrolling in the first year of primary school, and gives examples of diagnostic materials used to evaluate school maturity and child readiness in the Czech Republic and abroad. This thesis deals with the concept of education of German pedagogue and university professor Peter Petersen, on the basis of which he elaborated and verified a pedagogical concept called the Jenaplan, which is a synthesis of different lines of the international reform educational movement of the beginning of the last century. It's only ten years left, and one centuries since the first verification of this concept at the practice school of university of Jena and the first book publication of The Small Jena-Plan (Der kleine Jena- Plan, 1927). Yet it is still a challenge that encourages thinking about changes in the work of a regular school. Still again, he questions the stereotypes and serves as a contemporary model of the school as a workshop of humanity. The first chapter deal with the historical background of the reform educational movement and the basic features of reform pedagogy. The second chapter describes the life of Peter Petersen. The third chapter is devoted to the basic elements of Petersen's pedagogy and the principles of the Jenaplan school. The thesis recounts the history of the village school of Velké Karlovice - Miloňov. The thesis is historical/empirical. The empirical part aims to use qualitative research to discover how the people of the region, the pupils of the school, perceived education in this hard, mountainous part of Wallachia. Their responses are compared to records of the Miloňov school chronicles. The historical part aims to present the results of a literary summary of the history of education in the Wallachia region and a comprehensive study of the history of the Miloňov Valley school. The thesis also covers the replica of the building of the Miloňov school built in the Wallachian Open Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. Included in the thesis is also an interview of the curator and expert guarantor responsible for the the construction of the museum replica. The replica building of the school in the Wallachian Open Air Museum offers a wide variety of educational programmes for schools. The appendix of the thesis includes a worksheet for first-graders that can be used as a part of the "Welcome to school" event in the Museum. This work is focused on the choice of further educational path of elementary school pupils, namely pupils of the last year's ninth grade of the elementary school Novoborská. First the theoretical part is devoted to defining the basic concepts, the specifics of the pupils of the ninth classes and subsequently the specific factors that could influence the choice of pupils' secondary school. In this sense, it also deals with the professional orientation of pupils and the system of career counseling in the Czech Republic at the level of basic education. The practical part of this thesis focuses on the process of making decisions of the students of the ninth class about the choice of further educational or professional career through in-depth interviews with individual pupils. It also examines the specific aspects that have entered this decision and the extent to which the choice of the secondary school coincided with their professional orientation. The aim of this work is to approach the issue, to describe the factors that can be the key in transferring pupils from elementary to the secondary school and to identify the specific aspects that most influenced the choice of the secondary school pupils of the last year's ninth grade of elementary school Novoborská.
