A construção do canone critico sobre Fernando Pessoa : a critica de Adolfo Casais Monteiro

Gagliardi, Caio Marcio Poletti Lui 12 April 2000 (has links)

A porta da saida : a poetica das canções de Torquato Neto / The exit way : the poetry of the Torquato Neto's songs

Our study bends over Torquato Neto¿s songs, prior to his participation at the Tropicalism, which has a similar profile of the activist song, of protest, in the middle of the 1960s, and during his involvement with the movement, turning them into a beginning of questioning the established critical discourses about his poetry. We try to establish a dialogue between our listening to the songs and the critical readings which consider them separately, as a poetic text only. So that we can question the two opposite extremes in which his poetry is confined to: either the poet is seen as an avant-garde artist who continues a certain tradition again, of ingenuity and constructive rigidity, or as a romantic radical libertarian who, in accordance with his political-existential project, abandons his life / Mestrado / Literatura Brasileira / Mestre em Teoria e História Literária

Basso Benelli, Cristián January 2006 (has links)

Robayo Trujillo, Gloria M. 06 June 2016 (has links)
The present study focuses on Escritos para desocupados (Writings for the Unoccupied), a 2013 work by Mexican author Vivian Abenshushan, as a multifaceted book that poses challenges for literary studies, book studies, and the reader in general. From a textual perspective, Escritos para desocupados is a shape-shifter. That is, depending on how the reader accesses its content, it can be a blog-book, a web-book, a printed book or a digital PDF-book. Using a term coined by the author, the "augmented book," I seek to encompass a phenomenon that is no longer unusual, the publication of a text in different media. Using Roger Chartier's Forms and Meanings: Texts, Performances and Audiences from Codex to Computer (1995), and N. Katherine Hayles's Electronic Literature: New Horizons for the Literary (2008), the present study reworks and builds upon Abenshushan's term "augmented book" to reflect the transformation suffered by the text, and expands upon this new perspective to offer three basic modes of augmentation: through content, through formats, and through reading. Drawing on these forms of augmentation, and adding a more literary perspective, after reviewing the characteristics of two Avant-garde and post-Avant-garde literary movements in Mexico, as well as their primary characteristics, the findings suggest that Escritos para desocupados could be considered the manifesto to a new post-Avant-garde literary movement in Mexico, under the proposed name of movimiento desocupado (Unoccupied Movement). In defense of territory : province-building under W.A.C. Bennett

Tomblin, Stephen G. January 1985 (has links)
The thesis is primarily an attempt to provide a better understanding on how territorial conflicts influenced infrastructural development in British Columbia between the years 1952 and 1972. Primary emphasis is placed upon exploring the territorial component of province-building in British Columbia. The major theme which emerges is that the spatial pattern of economic development witnessed in the province during these years was not merely the product of societal pressure, but instead, reflected the dreams, and ambitions of the W.A.C. Bennett government. Bennett's efforts to build a better integrated provincial society played a major role in strengthening the provincial government's control over the provincial territory. Six case studies on infrastructural development are investigated: railway transportation, oil and gas development, hydro development, ferry transportation, port development, and highway transportation. The thesis analyzes infrastructural development because it is assumed that the state-centred paradigm is much more useful for explaining provincial expansionism within this policy context. The thesis has four sections. The first section provides a review of province-building, and assesses how territorial conflicts influence state infrastructure development. The second section includes a review of the political setting. The third section presents the case studies. The final section provides a summary of the findings and concludes that the Bennett government's desire to exploit infrastructure for the purpose of building a more integrated and united territory had a major impact upon the spatial pattern of economic development in British Columbia. / Arts, Faculty of / Political Science, Department of / Graduate

British Columbia 1972-75 : the genesis of a two-party system

Harris, Christopher C. January 1987 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to posit an explanation for the rather spectacular reversal of Social Credit fortunes in British Columbia during the 1972-75 period and the concomitant creation of the province's present two-party system. A detailed examination of the political events of the period was undertaken in an attempt to determine what had taken place and in what order. The research involved analysis of electoral statistics and press clippings, personal interviews and the traditional review of available academic literature. The thesis rejected a monocausal explanation of Social Credit's 1975 electoral victory. Research indicates that Socred leader Bill Bennett was able to capitalize on "the widespread -and largely self-created - disenchantment with the NDP government and position his party to be seen by the public as the only credible alternative. Contrary to popular perception, the post-1972 version of Social Credit was not a "coalition" in the political sense. Rather, Liberal and Conservative elites recognized Bennett's success in projecting Social Credit as the only realistic alternative to the NDP and joined him to protect their legislative seats and further their respective political careers. / Arts, Faculty of / Political Science, Department of / Graduate

Baptista, Michele Marques 12 August 2015 (has links)
Some elements of historical and cultural reality, identified in fiction about the State of Rio Grande do Sul, have contributed and still contribute to the construction of a social imaginary and of a regional identity, whether in representations of the environment in which the narrative takes place or in the language used by the writer. On the assumption that the writer’s lexical choices are relevant factors to setting the historical context of a given season, this paper aims to examine the relation between the lexicon of the novel called “The House of Seven Women”, by Leticia Wierzchowski (2002) and regional culture. To achieve these goals, this dissertation develops a lexical-semantic analysis of the representation of the historicalcultural and social characteristics of Rio Grande do Sul from the selection of lexias, organized into lexical fields according to Coseriu's theory (1979). As theoretical contribution it was used the lexical studies, Lexicology, Lexicography and Terminology, emphasizing the lexicon related to culture and regional aspects.
