participativo.

A review of using weblogs for teaching and learningWen, Yu-Chi 2009 August 1900 (has links)
Weblogs, one of the Web 2.0 applications, are popular among this Internet generation. Nevertheless, researchers have just begun to study their affordances for education. This report reviews the literature published in the past five years on using weblogs in teaching and learning and identifies most prominent characteristics of weblogs. It finds that weblogs have the potential to support teachers’ pedagogical strategies in terms of knowledge construction, social development, new literacies, reflection, communication and collaboration, and home-school connection. This report also compares contemporary educational blogging services, Edublogs and 21Classes, to provide practitioners some insights about how to practice blogging in their classroom. This paper concludes with an emphasis on teachers’ roles in technology integration and discusses future direction for research on academic use of weblogs. / text

Taking Well to Thirsty: Library Toolbar-Changing of the Users Environment into New EnvironmentRam, Shri, Rao, N Laxman, Kataria, Sanjay January 2008 (has links)
A Well known phrase in Hindi which
elucidate that the ‘Thirsty needs to go to well,
well will not come to thirsty’. Toolbar has now
changed the scenario in respect that it taking well
to the thirsty. This paradigm shift is due to
advancement in information and computer
technology. The thirsts for the information are
increasing day-by-day. Information wells are
deepens rapidly, library resources are increasing
in collection as well as characters and flowing
along with the technology. Library and
Information Centers adopting various
methodology for collection building, from print
media to digital collection, from individual
subscription to consortia based collaboration in
order to saving budget, library automation for
resource management, Web 2.0 technology for
information literacy and user education and other
tools and technology such as audio visual
methods, forum, emails, list-serves, and many
more lists are added up during the time for ‘save
the time of reader’, what S R Rangnathan’s
philosophy reveal. Library services are fading out
of sight for most user groups and how these users
and their expectations have changed, without us
realizing. It contains a strong plea for a focus
shift for librarians, a focus into the environments
where the users are, instead of expecting them to
come to us, or our resources. Exploration of all
relevant user environments for your organization,
the use of new web-based technologies with Web
2.0 elements and certainly a more structural
technical re-design of library information systems
is required to deliver library services and
resources at the place of need. A simple shortterm
solution like a Quick-Search Library
Toolbar is explained here as a tool for taking
library to user. This paper will discuss the
Technology, Methodology and Usability and1
multitasking nature of Library Toolbars for
enhanced search methodology. This will also
discuss how toolbar can be helpful in getting
latest information about the happenings around
the globe, latest availability of resources in the
library, email check with single click and how the
library toolbar has been adopted at authors
institution for better user education and
information communication. The paper concludes
with the remarks for research on more tools like
library toolbar for enhancing library activity for
user unreached.

Design, synthesis and characterization of the synthetic yeast genomeShen, Yue January 2018 (has links)
With the rapid development of DNA synthesis technologies, synthetic biology has made tremendous progress in the past 15 years, in particular for synthetic genomics. Synthetic genomics is a nascent field of synthetic biology, which aims to design new biological systems/organisms to satisfy human needs. Conventional synthetic biology focuses on the redesign, construction and modeling of biological parts, pathways or genomes that do not exist in nature, while synthetic genomics encompasses technologies that allow the generation of chemically synthesized larger parts of genomes or whole genomes, with simultaneous redesign of an organism's genetic material. Synthetic genomics is painting a blueprint for a new era of biology and holds great potential for a multitude of applications, such as pharmaceuticals, biofuels and rapid generation of vaccines against emerging diseases. Chapter One gives an introduction of the current state of the art and challenges of synthetic genomics and the objectives of this study. Chapter Two demonstrates the design and construction strategy of two megabase-long synthetic yeast chromosomes, SynII and SynVII. Chapter Three describes the full characterization of SynII and SynVII. Chapter Four introduces the SCRaMbLE (Synthetic Chromosome Rearrangement and Modification by LoxPsym-mediated Evolution) system and its application in SynII and SynVII. Taken together, this work demonstrates the utility of synthetic yeast for understanding biological systems and its potential for industrial applications.

Intranät 2 : 0Zetterström, Johannes, Göras, Johan Unknown Date (has links)

The impact of Enterprise 2.0 tools on Innovation processes : The Case Study of Incentive at IBSMackeviciute, Agne, Iacubitchi, Stanislav January 2010 (has links)
The impact of Web 2.0 technologies has crossed the Internet borders and is increasingly af-fecting not only individuals but also organizations as entities. The emergence of the Enter-prise 2.0 concept, which presumes the application of Web 2.0 tools within the organiza-tional context, is being intensively adopted by many organizations of all types and sizes world-wide. Authors suggest that there is a direct impact of Enterprise 2.0 system on such organizational aspects as communication, collaboration, cooperation, co-creation and even innovation activities. There is though a sort of informational gap in the literature that would address these concepts (Enterprise 2.0 and Innovation) simultaneously and this was one of the main reasons that motivated the authors of this master thesis to investigate this topic. In conducting this research all kinds of informational resources were used and these find-ings were combined with the results obtained from a real business case study, which is an example of an Enterprise 2.0 platform (Incentive) implemented within an organization (IBS). The overall research can be described in three main parts. In the first part analysis of the theoretical aspects related to Innovation and Enterprise 2.0 is made. A preliminary re-search framework is build based on these findings and this framework represents an at-tempt to bridge these theoretical dimensions. In the second part the investigation of the „Colin‟ case study was presented. With this case investigation the research gains access to primary data and information. This strengthens the initial research framework and also de-livers new insights and perspectives in connection to the highlighted topic. The findings re-lated to the impact of Enterprise 2.0 on Innovation processes are analyzed and discussed in the final part of the research from theoretical and empirical perspectives. An enhanced framework, representing the result of the theoretical and empirical studies, is ultimately suggested. This model represents an attempt to portray how can an Enterprise 2.0 system support innovation activities in a more generic way, addressing together major factors that are critical for an innovation process. This investigation has also determined that such Enterprise 2.0 tools as Wikis, Blogs, Social Networking, Micro-blogging, Forums & Discussions, Search Engines, Tagging etc. are having the highest impact on innovation related activities. Additionally, the managerial aspect in relation to Enterprise 2.0 influence on Innovation has proved to be extremely important, especially during the implementation phase.
