Escobar Gil de Montes, María Teresa 11 March 2011 (has links)

Charles, Clara 12 1900 (has links)
In France, in alternative or underground circles characterized bypostmodern fandoms such as geek and otaku cultures, a new form of practice emerged these years defined by the French word rôleplay. It is neither role playing game nor theatre, but a way to exchange with other roleplayers, wearing a costume, in a dedicated area. This work is the result of ethnography in those milieu, and aims to give an account of this practice as much as to analyze the issues of rôleplay. This polyphonic essay links questions as identity (individual or collective) and performativity, through, notably, the work of Deleuze, Agamben and Butler. The splitted up form with several voices taking part recovers the carnivalschaos, central pattern in this analysis.

[en] ENHANCEMENT AND CONTINUOUS SPEECH RECOGNITION IN ADVERSE ENVIRONMENTS / [pt] REALCE E RECONHECIMENTO DE VOZ CONTÍNUA EM AMBIENTES ADVERSOS

CHRISTIAN DAYAN ARCOS GORDILLO 13 June 2018 (has links)
[en] This thesis presents and examines innovative contributions in frontend of the automatic speech recognition systems (ASR) for enhancement and speech recognition in adverse environments. The first proposal applies a median filter on the probability distribution function of each cepstral coefficient before using a transformation to a distortion-invariant domain, to adapt the corrupted voice to the clean reference environment by modifying histograms. Based on the results of psychophysical studies of the human auditory system, which uses as a principle the fact that sound reaching the ear is subjected to a process called Auditory Scene Analysis (ASA), which examines how the auditory system separates the sound sources that make up the acoustic input, three new approaches independently applied were proposed for enhancement and speech recognition. The first applies the estimation of a new mask in the spectral domain using the short-time Fourier Transform (STFT) concept. The proposed mask applies the Local Binary Pattern (LBP) technique to the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of each time-frequency unit (T-F) to estimate an Ideal Neighborhood Mask (INM). Continuing with this approach, the masking using LBP-based wavelet transforms to highlight the temporal spectra of wavelet coefficients at high frequencies is proposed in this thesis. Finally, a new method of estimation of the INM mask is proposed, using a supervised learning algorithm of Deep Neural Network (DNN) to classify the T-F units obtained from the output of the filter banks belonging to a same source of sound (or predominantly voice or predominantly noise). The performance is compared with traditional IBM and IRM mask techniques, both regarding objective voice quality and through word error rates. The results of the proposed methods show the improvements obtained in noisy environments, with differences significantly superior to the conventional approaches.

A game of appearances : the mask of Oscar Wilde

Gravem, Bruna Cardoso January 2013 (has links)
Ali são examinadas as primeiras tragédias e, a seguir, as obras que o tornaram um autor polêmico na Inglaterra Vitoriana: “The Portrait of Mr. W. H” e The Picture of Dorian Gray. / This dissertation examines how three strings tangle together in Oscar Wilde’s art: the person, the author and his literary works. The goal of this research is to understand the creative process of this author, whose plays go from irreverent to polemic. The polished humor and wit applied in his analysis of social behavior, trademarks in Wilde’s writing style, approximate the ability shown by the author, as well as by his characters, to adapt to different circumstances through the use of masks, or personas, that enable them to escape intricate situations. The concept of mask is supported on Carl Gustav Jung’s theory. This paper is constructed in three chapters, in which it is analyzed aspects and circumstances of the author’s life that contributed to his unique writing style and is reflected on his literary works. The first chapter deals with the person Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde, and the movements that he partook in so that his strong personality and the strict Victorian environment could harmonize themselves in his life. This paper approaches the ways the society he was brought up into affected him, pointing out aspects in which he affected this society in return. Throughout this process Wilde created many masks that he would use his whole life to be able to navigate through different groups he was related to however he wished. The second and third chapters present the author Oscar Wilde and the sequence of different literary works written by him, evaluating how the circumstances in his personal life shaped him, creating the author’s writing style. Not only this paper considers the Aesthete in Wilde, but also the reception of his works by the public that was contemporary to him. In the second chapter it is presented the concepts of mask and shadow, and how they reflect on Wilde’s work and personal life. It is also examined his first tragedies and the literary works that made him become a polemic author in Victorian England: “The Portrait of Mr. W. H.” and The Picture of Dorian Gray. In the third chapter it is mentioned the brightest moments in his career, his comedies of society, as well as his soberest, with the work he wrote in prison and in the last few years of his life. Still in the third chapter, it is discussed the legacy left by Wilde, commenting on the social changes that led to a new reception of his works, as they continue to be relevant even a century after their creation. On my final considerations, I reiterate the goal of this research, which is to contribute with a reading on the style of this great writer, based on the analysis of the relation between this eccentric Irish man and the unmerciful Victorian society that he lived in.

Evaluation de Réticules Avancés : Propriétés optiques des réticules et prise en compte de leur processus de fabrication dans l’amélioration des modèles OPC pour étendre les fenêtres de procédés en lithographie optique par immersion, pour les noeuds technologiques 28nm et 14nm / Masks optical properties and consideration of their manufacturing process in the improvement of OPC models and process window expand for immersion lithography tools for 28nm and 14nm nodes

Zine el abidine, Nacer 28 November 2017 (has links)
For advanced technologies nodes, immersion optical lithography using 193nm sources reaches its limits in terms of resolutions. Since new lithography techniques such as Extreme UV or multi-beam writing are not yet ready from an industrial point of view, a continuous evolving set of tools known as Resolution Enhancement Technics (RET) allows to continue working with immersion equipment, pushing the resolution limits as much as possible. With the increasing design complexity, this task is more and more challenging. Within this frame this dissertation is addressed to improve the lithographic process variability by focusing on one of the main elements: the reticles. The first part brings together the state of the art of optical photolithography and resolution improvement techniques, as well as a set of concepts useful for parts B and C understanding. Part B deals with the reduction of focusing effects, better known as "Best focus shift mitigation", observed on dense levels such as "Metal" for advanced technologies. This part helps to understand the influence of the physical organs on the optical path and proposes as a solution to the Best focus Shift a reticle change, firstly validated via simulation and then experimentally at wafer level. Part C presents how the inherent effects of reticle fabrication can be taken into account in the Optical Proximity effects Corrections steps, from the description of the effects involved to the calibration and the use of a dedicated mask model
