Středověká šlechtická sídla v severovýchodních Čechách (Archeologie hradu Kumburku) / Medieval aristocratic residences in the north-eastern Czech Republic (Archaeology of The Kumburk Castle)

WITKOWSKI, Martin January 2012 (has links)
This thesis is divided into two coherent parts. The first part deals with issue of castle buildings in a specified area of the north-east Czech Republic. The aim of this part is to offer an overview of development and typology of individual settlements. Next, it introduces a model which presents the structure of castle buildings' layout within the specified area. The second part of the thesis focuses on the material culture of the castle Kumburk situated in the investigated area. The purpose of this part is to analyse, synthesize and interpret the non-stratified discoveries which were obtained by field walking in the castle area. The author attempts to place the results in a historical context of this castle on a basis of comparative study of scholarly literature, written and iconographic evidence. By processing the so far neglected archaeological discoveries the author also tries to identify everyday life in the castle from the 14th to the 16th century.

Kontakty a archeologie - příklad avarského kaganátu a západních Slovanů / Contacts and Archaeology - the Example of Avar Khaganate and Western Slavs

Michaličová Nováková, Jana January 2018 (has links)
The presented work focuses on the comparison of the basic characteristics of cultures inhabitating the area of today's Czech republic and the area of the historical Avar Khaganate in the time period betweeen half of the 6th century to the beginning of 9th century. The groundwork for this comparison is the study of 10 sites - 5 settlements and 5 cemeteries. Two cemeteries and two settlements are located in the centre of Czech republic, two and two others are located in the centre of khaganate, the remaining two are located in the border area between them. These sites show us parallels between both preseneted cultures. We can observe the similarities in funerary customs and in patterns of houses and settlements as well. Movable artifacts, some of which we may describe as luxurious ones, also undeniably reflect contacts between the Khaganate and areas of today's Czech republic. Key words Slavs, Avars, Contacts, Ethnicity, Archaeology, Early Middle Ages

[fr] DE L`ARCHÉOLOGIE À LA GÉNÉALOGIE: LA QUESTION DU SUJET DANS LE PARCOURS PHILOSOPHIQUE DE MICHEL FOUCAULT / [pt] DA ARQUEOLOGIA À GENEALOGIA: A QUESTÃO DO SUJEITO NO PERCURSO FILOSÓFICO DE MICHEL FOUCAULT

FABIANE MARQUES DE CARVALHO SOUZA 14 April 2009 (has links)

L’architecture religieuse rurale en Languedoc Méditerranéen entre la fin VIIIe siècle et le début du XIe siècle (Diocèses d’Agde, Béziers, Lodève, Maguelone et Narbonne) / Rural religious architecture in Mediterranean Languedoc between the IXth and the beginning of the XIth century (Dioceses of Agde, Béziers, Lodève, Maguelone and Narbonne)

Astruc, Elisabeth 26 November 2016 (has links)
Rural churches set up between the IXth and the beginning of the XIth century are relatively numerous in Mediterranean Languedoc. The choice of this area that brings together five old bishoprics enables a better understanding of this architecture, relying on a corpus of thirty-five monuments. These buildings are characterized by the simple shape of their plan, made up of an only nave, ended by a quadrangular chevet. This architectural style is not specific to the studied area, it is also observed in Catalonia and Croatia. Researches on sanctuaries first developed though regional archaeological associations and the setting up of several excavations. The study of these constructions finds a new interest through an approach of territory organization during the Early Middle Ages, with a notion of parish network as well as the role of churches among the numerous phenomena of housing concentration (incastellamento and cloistering). The accurate study of the rudimentary structure of these buildings lets us catch a glimpse of the impact of worship practices on space distribution and the importance of an architectonic element: the triumphal arch, preferred stand for sculptures, always discreet.
