Tudesco, Ana Paula Kloeckner January 2014 (has links)
In the context of project management, new approaches emerged aiming to monitor changes in the business environment with agility and generating innovative in developing new technologies, products and services results. The Agile Project Management (APM) arose from the union of some principles and values, which have in the focus on individuals the main difference from other approaches in project management. Given this focus, it is necessary to show which factors may be associated with successful implementation of GAP to obtain the agility and innovative results. Thus, the overall goal of this study is to identify the success factors of agile project management and how they can contribute, through the practices of agile management in achieving results in agility and innovative projects. The specific objectives are: (i) identify practices, success factors, indicators and agile management tools highlighted projects in the literature, (ii) identify the importance of these success factors to determine the speed and facilitate the generation of innovation results; (iii) identify practices associated with the success factors highlighted in this study between professionals; (iv) characterize a format and structure for implementation of agile project management based on the success factors identified in a service company. To answer each of the objectives presented, this paper was structured as three items associated with each of the specific objectives presented. Thus, the work was composed of a systematic literature review (Article 1), a research -type survey (Article 2) and a case study (Article 3) . The first article identified the success factors as well as the practices, indicators and benefits of GAP. In the second article, we selected six success factors related to the focus on individuals (autonomy, coordination, collaboration, communication, flexibility and continuous learning) and after it was found the importance of each in determining the agility and facilitation for generating innovative results. In the third article, a case study, consisting of interviews with professionals with experience in GAP for a diagnosis of the project area of a service business was conducted. The end result was the characterization and structure of a format implementation for the company under study. The results of this dissertation can’t be generalized, however, seek to clarify some elements associated with successful Agile Project Management, serving as a guide for future studies.

Vertically Scaling Agile : A Multiple-Case Study

Östman, Nicklas, Lindström, Rasmus January 2017 (has links)
The conceptual framework of agile software development is an ever-growing movement in the software industry. However, recent studies have shown that large, less software-focused companies, where software development is primarily used for in-house IT-solutions, struggle with giving up traditional command-control type of management. This hits hard on some of the most important principles of agile software development and in many cases this phenomenon has inevitably led to large gaps between development teams and more managerial parts of the organization. This thesis has aimed to study this gap and investigate how it affects software development teams’ ability to carry out their work. By comparing three software teams that were internally highly similar but with varying external conditions, impact on the teams’ behaviour based on their different environments was studied. The study was carried out using a multiple-case study approach with primary data sources consisting of survey gathered data from all team members and interviews with a subset of the team members. The results gathered from this study suggest that agile development teams are extremely dependent on a well-functioning interface to business related parts of an organization. Regarding teams’ ability to make decisions and being agile in their way of working, the results primarily isolate impediments with roots in an unwillingness to adhere to and lack of understanding of agile principles. In this thesis, our gathered results were also correlated with a modern framework called Flow in order to confirm its relevance regarding analyzing software development teams in large-scale environments.

Développement d'antennes agiles en fréquence intégrant un condensateur ferroélectrique / Ferroelectric capacitors integreted within a frequency tunable antenna

Rammal, Mohamad 13 December 2017 (has links)
The rapid growth of wireless communication has promoted the increase of the number of standards for wireless applications. This progress requests new manufacturing processes of smart devices that are able to work on several frequency bands. However, the miniaturization of antennas is accompanied by a significant reduction of the bandwidth as well as its radiation efficiency and it becomes dependent on its using context. Tunable devices can be integrated within antennas in order to overcome these main issues. Among the solutions proposed in the literature, thin-film ferroelectric materials are used to realize tunable capacitors. The use of such materials allows the design of a tunable capacitor that can be tuned by an applied electric field. The advances of these ferroelectric thin-film devices were developed in order to meet particular and extreme requirements for today's telecommunication systems (miniaturization, low cost, ease of the manufacture process, integration and good power handling). This thesis is part of ongoing research over frequency reconfigurable antennas which are based on ferroelectric materials. Two main axes were developed during this work: The development and realization of capacitors that incorporate a BST film along with their microwave characterizations within XLIM lab. The second part of our work is dedicated to the realization of the complete tunable antenna.

An agile supply chain for a project-oriented steel product network

Iskanius, P. (Päivi) 08 August 2006 (has links)
Abstract Agility – namely, the ability of a supply chain to rapidly respond to changes in market and customer demands – is regarded as the bearer of competitive advantage in today's business world. The need for agility has traditionally been associated with supply chains in high technology industry products. However, traditional industries also face similar challenges in terms of speed, flexibility, increased product diversity and customization. This study contributes to the discussion on agility in supply chain management (SCM) and provides a novel focus on the development of an agile supply chain in a traditional industry. The object of this study is the development of an agile supply chain in a steel product network in the Raahe area in Northern Finland. The case network is undergoing a shift towards project-oriented business, where quick responses are the priority and agility is recognised as the facilitating factor. Using a constructive approach, an agile supply chain for a steel product network, SteelNet system, is developed. SteelNet system functions through the Internet and agent software technology. In identifying the new challenges raised by advanced information and communication technologies (ICT) in the development of an agile supply chain, the study presents some valuable ICT options for SCM. Following a review of the current understanding of agility in SCM literature, the study identifies the key elements of agile supply chains and proposes a four-dimensional agile supply chain framework by which to assess levels of agility. Using the framework, the study describes how the key elements appear in the case network. The study assesses the change process, and the necessary improvement steps, towards agility. It is concluded that agile supply chains have a major role also in traditional industry, and comprehensive implementation of ICT throughout the chain is of utmost importance in the development of an agile supply chain. Further insights to the discussion on agility are provided, and these and the conclusions extend a drawbridge to other companies and business networks in traditional industry to consider the clear advantages to developing their own agile supply chains.

Podniková architektura jako služba / Enterprise Architecture as a Service

Gála, Libor January 2013 (has links)
Although architectural services have been for a long time a common part of civil engineering, they are very rarely mentioned in theory and practice of enterprise architecture. Author of this thesis deals with formulation of the model of enterprise architecture as a service and its solution. The model is defined by a set of constructs and assumptions, which take into account current knowledge in the fields of enterprise architecture and services. In model solution a set of architectural services, which provide Enterprise Architecture agile and flexibly, is identified and defined. Validity of the model and of its solution is practically verified in two real-world cases: in a shared services center and in an external service provider.

Agilní metodika testování podnikových aplikací s využitím nástroje HP ALM / Agile methodology of testing enterprise applications using HP ALM

Studnička, Michal January 2012 (has links)
Usage of information systems and technologies (IS/ICT) is almost necessary nowadays for all kind of organizations. These, that want it to be successful know, that it is necessary to pay attention to technology innovations and make sure about their quality. Quality of information system is equal of quality theirs single elements, which are created by linked software applications. Their development is currently guided by many different methodologies or instructions how to create them in the shortest time possible, as cheaply and with sufficient quality. This imaginary triangle forms the basis for the ongoing struggle for necessary compromise on one side or the other. Part of these development methodologies is in most cases a section which is dealing with testing. The results of development have to be checked before delivery to the customer and also on the client side is necessary to test quality of what he paid. Therefore, testing is very important, but still neglected article of software development. The main objective of this thesis is modification of testing methodology from Iveta Králová. Modified methodology was adapted for specific environment of small developement team with support of HP ALM software. Original methodology was intended only for system testing and ends in transmission to acceptance tests. Modified methodology goes beyond these boundaries and also covers this area. Partial aim is to enrich methodology on how to implement and manage test environments suitable for this type of operations. The main contribution of this work is the development of agile methodology that is specific for a particular type of operation and works with HP ALM.

Efeito da ordem de combinação do treinamento de força e de potência no desempenho motor / Effect of the combination of strength and power training on motor performance

Ronaldo Kobal de Oliveira Alves Cardoso 16 January 2013 (has links)
The combination of strength (ST) with power training (PT) has been shown to be more effective than the isolated methods. However, there is no consensus on the best way to combine these methods in the same training session. Thus, the purpose of this study was to compare the effect of the combination of TF and TP on performance of lower limbs maximum dynamic strength and power, vertical jump, speed, agility, and drop jump. Twenty seven soccer players participated in eight weeks of training. They were divided into three groups: FP (all TF series before TP series), PF (all TP series before TF series), and AA (alternated TF and TP series). The TF was composed of squat exercise (60-80% 1RM) and the TP used drop jumps. The results were: significant increases in maximal dynamic strength of 48.6%, 46.3%, and 53% in groups FP, PF, and AA; respectively; in vertical jump height of 13%, 14,2% e 14,7% in groups FP, PF, and AA; respectively, and in average power in the AA group (8,6%) for the load of 40% PC. No changes were observed in agility performance. The FP and PF groups presented a decrease in speed of 10 and 20 meters, while the AA group did not change. In conclusion, the three different TF and TP combinations resulted in similar adaptations in soccer players performance. Thus, it can be suggested that TF and TP training order does not seem to interfere with long term performance changes
