Proposição de método de identificação e análise de problemas de gerenciamento de estoques

Oliveira, Luciano Valente de January 2016 (has links)
Inventories are common to any businesses, as they are needed to cushion impacts from unscheduled demands and avoid ruptures between processes, adding security between different tiers in a supply chain. Inventory management problems are common, as their causes can be multiple, and being present on different nodes of a chain, which can be caused by issues related to supply, demand, information, and other possible factors. Due to the importance of inventories for a business, whether financial - as assets - or its role in mitigating risks in the supply process, inventory management problems are frequently approached in the literature. However, there is no consensus on what are inventory management problems and there is no widespread method for identification and analysis of inventory management problems. This research focus on this gap by proposing a method of identification and analysis of inventory management problems. This method is anchored in six distinct steps that have been applied in the form of a case study on a company in south of Brazil. The steps include the identification of the causes of the inventory management problem, the modeling and simulation of the proposed environment and analysis of iterations from the perspective of three key variables: inventory balance, inventory shortages and a cost function. Among the results of this research are a classification of inventory management problems originators and the proposed method. It was observed in the case study that among the input variables, when manipulated the arithmetic mean of the stochastic distribution of these variables, they increased the systematic variation output of the model more than when were manipulated the variance of the stochastic distribution of the same variable.

Oliveira, Régia Cristina Chagas de January 2010 (has links)
The search for appropriate benchmarks to processes, products and services of an electric utility concessionary have been circulated by the Brazilian Association of Electricity Distributors (ABRADEE). Annually this Association promotes the ratings of customer satisfaction evaluation, operational management, economic-financial management and social responsibility. As an example of what happens to the companies participating in the National Quality Foundation (FNQ) a database of participating companies is available to carry out Benchmarking for Best Practices. This paper presents a proposed method to identify the most appropriate benchmark to compare cases between companies that participate in the ABRADEE using a multicriteria analysis model that can help to select this comparative reference. Due to the development of this method, we attempted to discuss in the literature review some issues such as competitiveness, governance, evaluation and performance indicators, benchmarking, as well as methods of multicriteria analysis. The proposed method is a distinct formulation of the method already used by ABRADEE, the comparison of companies with the same organizational profile: network extension, network type of distribution and number of own and third-party employees are examples. As a result of the work it was possible to logically prioritize the processes of benchmarking and multicriteria analysis to choose the best comparative reference, as well as facilitating the process of best practices by selecting the appropriate benchmark. Its practice should suit to guide and facilitate the management charging transparency and accountability procedures, as well as achieving the results expected by shareholders.

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to computational systems is a complex activity, given the nature of the problems attacked, in particular when they involve multi-agent problems and multitasking (MAMT). Although there are several methods for the development of Multi-agent System (MAS), there are just a few that give any importance to understanding the problem; and even these methods do not address the problems with all detailing that MAMT problems needs. Addressing the deficiency of these methods, we are proposing the Icelus method that focuses on leading the analyst to understand and describe correctly the problem to be solved. Icelus will enable a better approach in the analysis and understanding of a MAMT problem, facilitating the distribution of knowledge to the rest of the development team, reducing the risk of coding errors throughout the development of the project.

Internal Erosion and Dam Stability : Analysis of the internal erosion effects on stability of an embankment dam

Jedenius, Arthur January 2018 (has links)
Embankment dams encounter several problems in terms of dam safety. One of those problems is called internal erosion. This phenomenon is induced by the movement of fine particles within the dam due to seepage forces. If the dam is not able to self-heal, the eroded zones will increase which will eventually cause the dam to fail. Thus standards have been created by Svensk Energi and summarized in the Swedish dam safety guideline RIDAS 2012. These standards are used as a basic in the risk analysis of existing dams and provide guidelines for proper design of future dams.A dam in Sweden has presented recurring incidents related to internal erosion within the core. The impact of this internal erosion is analysed in this thesis with the use of Finite Element Method/Analysis (FEM/A). FEA models simulate the in situ stresses in the dam and calculate the strength. It also enables the analysis of changing hydraulic conductivity and its effect on the overall effective strength due to changing pore pressure and seepage forces. The analysis using numerical methods was performed in the program PLAXIS2D and SEEP/W while limit equilibrium analysis was done in SLOPE/W.The calculation in PLAXIS2D was performed by using the Mohr-Coulomb constitutive model. The in situ stresses are initially calculated using gravity loading since this is the preferred method on an uneven terrain instead of a K0-calculation. Then, through a set of phases in the program, zones where erosion is assumed to have occurred are changed. These zones have a higher permeability and will thus affect the pore pressures in the dam following Darcy’s law with permeability through a set medium. The increased permeability is set to follow an increased void ratio due to loss of fine material in the core. How this increase of void ratio affects the permeability is investigated through using Ren et al’s (2016) proposed equation for calculating permeability with a set void ratio. Their equation, apart from the usually used Kozeny-Carman equation, considers both effective and ineffective void ratio where the ineffective void ratios refers to the volume of pores that is immobile when flow is considered. The increased flow in the eroded zones of the core did not seem to impact the strength of the dam in much regard. The phreatic surface and thus the pore pressure did not change enough to influence the overall effective strength of the dam. It raises the question if the stability of an earth-rock fill dam will be affected due to increased pore pressure at all due to its draining properties and if it would rather fail due to increased seepage forces.

Kunacheva, Chinagarn 24 September 2009 (has links)
PFCs are used in a wide variety of industrial and commercial applications for more than 50 years. Among variation of PFCs, Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) (CF3(CF2)7SO3-) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) (CF3(CF2)6COO-) are the most dominant PFCs. In May 2009, PFOS, its salts and perfluorooctane sulfonyl fluoride (PFOSF) are designated as new Persistent Organic Compounds (POPs) which are resistant, bio-accumulating, and having potential of causing adverse effects to humans and environment (IISD, 2009). However, products containing PFCs are still being manufactured and used, which could be the main reason why they are still observed in the environment and biota (Berger et al., 2004; Saito et al., 2003; Sinclair et al., 2004). The study is focused on the PFCs contamination in water and industrial wastewater around the Central and Eastern Thailand, where is one of the major industrialized areas in the country. The samplings were conducted in major rivers, Chao Phraya, Bangpakong and Tachin River. PFCs were contaminated in all rivers. The average total PFCs were 15.10 ng/L, 18.29 ng/L and 7.40 ng/L in Chao Phraya, Bangpakong and Tachin River, respectively. PFOS and PFOA were the predominant PFCs in all samples. The total of 118.6 g/d PFOS and 323.6 g/d PFOA were released from the three rivers to the Gulf of Thailand. The survey was also conducted in small rivers, reservoirs, and coastal water around Eastern Thailand, where many industrial zones (IZ) are located. The geometric mean (GM) concentration of each PFC was ranged from 2.3 to 107.7 ng/L in small rivers, 2.2 to 212.2 ng/L in reservoirs, and 0.8 to 41.1 ng/L in coastal water samples. The higher PFCs contaminations were detected in the surface water around the industrial zones, where might be the sources of these compounds. Field surveys were also conducted in ten industrial zones (IZ1 – IZ10) to identify the occurrences of PFCs from in industries. The recovery rates of PFCs in the samples indicated that the matrix interference or enhancement was an important problem in PFCs analysis. The elevated concentrations were detected in electronics, textile, chemicals and glass making industries. Total PFCs concentrations in the influent of WWTP were ranged from 39.6 to 3, 344.1 ng/L. Ten industrial zones released 188.41 g/d of PFCs. All of the treatment processes inside industrial zones were biological processes, which were reported that they were not effective to remove PFCs. The influence of industrial discharges was affected not only the rivers and reservoirs but also in the coastal water. The PFCs in rivers and reservoirs were discharged to the Gulf of Thailand, which is the important food source for Thai people and exports. Due to the problems in industrial wastewater analysis, several optimizing options were applied in PFCs analytical method especially in Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) procedure. The combination of PresepC-Agri and Oasis®HLB was the better option for analyzing PFCs in water samples. The optimum flow rate for loading the samples was 5 mL/min. Methanol (2 mL) plus Acetronitrile (2 mL) was the effective way to elute PFCs from the cartridges. The specific solvent percentages to elute each PFCs were identified for both water and industrial wastewater samples. The matrix removal methods by using Envi-Carb and Ultrafilter were effective for different types of industrial wastewater samples. PFCs were detected in surface waters, which are the sources of tap and drinking water for the people in Central and Eastern Thailand. The surveys were conducted in Bangkok city. Samples were collected from water treatment plants (WTPs), tap water, and drinking water. PFCs were detected in all tap water and drinking water samples. PFOS and PFOA concentrations in raw water of WTP were found 4.29 ng/L and 16.54 ng/L, respectively. The average PFOS and PFOA concentrations in tap water were detected 0.17 and 3.58 ng/L, respectively. The tap water results also showed that PFOS and PFOA concentrations were not similarly detected in all area in the city. PFOA were detected higher in the western area, while PFOS concentration was quite similar in all areas. Overall, it can be concluded that the current treatment processes were not completely remove PFCs. Nevertheless, PFCs in particulate phase were effectively removed by the primary sedimentation and rapid sand filtration. Elevated PFCs were found in the industrial zones (IZ2 and IZ5). To understand the distribution and fate of PFCs during industrial wastewater process, PFCs mass flows were studied. Higher PFCs in adsorbed phase were detected only in activated sludge and some influent samples. In IZ2, PFOA loading in the dissolved phase increased after activated sludge process by 5%. There was no degradation of PFOA inside the polishing pond. The highest loading to the treatment plant was PFOS with the loading of 2, 382 mg/d and 1, 529 mg/d in dissolved and adsorbed phase, respectively. Unlike PFCAs that showed no removal in the treatment process, PFOS were decreased during the treatment processes with 36% in the activated sludge process and 36% in the polishing pond. The predominant in this IZ5 was PFOS. The increasing of PFOS was also found in this treatment plant dissimilar to IZ2. PFOS was increasing by 45% in dissolved phase and 47% in adsorbed phase. All of PFCs in this industrial zone were detected higher in the effluent, indicated that PFCs’ precursors should be the major effects of this contamination.

Agirman, Petrus, Elina, Garis January 2020 (has links)
The aim of the study was to investigate the social service's approach and handling of cases related to honor-related violence and oppression. Furthermore, we wanted to map the boundary the social service makes between honor-related violence and oppression and violence in close relationships. In order to provide a detailed analysis of the aspects and questions that shall follow, a qualitative thematic analysis method has been used by conducting four semi-structured interviews with social secretaries from a social office in Sweden. The results showed that social secretaries define and manage honor-related violence and oppression in different ways. There is also no clear boundary between the phenomena, however, there are certain factors / motives in the respondents' responses that are of great importance to the social workers when they define honor-related violence and oppression. Some common underlying factors / motives are the collective or the nuclear family, culture or sexuality. It was also found that respondents often associate problems of honor with people of foreign origin. Another interesting observation worth highlighting was that several of the respondents did not really have any direct action plan or special guidelines to follow. In addition, the interviews showed that the most common intervention is family therapy and thus it is the first intervention offered.

Evaluation of Force-Time Curve Analysis Methods in the Isometric Mid-Thigh Pull Test

Liu, Junshi, Qu, Xingda, Stone, Michael H. 01 January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the manual and automatic analysis methods for force-time curve analysis of the isometric mid-thigh pull (IMTP) test. The visual analysis, first derivative analysis and threshold analysis methods were used to analyse onset time and time-specific forces at 50 ms, 90 ms, 200 ms and 250 ms on the force-time curve. Ninety-three collegiate sports athletes’ trials were selected and analysed by each method. The visual analysis method was set as the reference method for paired comparisons with the first derivative analysis method and threshold analysis method. Onset time comparisons revealed that the first derivative analysis method was comparable with the visual analysis method with average difference at about 30 ms. Results from the weighted least products regression analysis and the Bland-Altman analysis showed that large fixed bias confounded by proportional bias existed in the threshold analysis method, and time-specific force variables obtained from the first derivative analysis method were closer to those from the visual analysis method when compared with the threshold analysis method. These findings suggest that the first derivative analysis method could be an effective tool for force-time curve analysis of the IMTP test.
