In the Analysis of the Behavior, Skinner (1983) suggested that aging should be studied as any other behavior through the paradigm of the selection by consequences. Moreover, the understanding that the human aging could be analyzed as social phenomenon and how it has been socially constructed by the press, under Guerin's perspective, was the goal of this present research. To verify how that has been occurring, the digital file of the magazine Veja was chosen for analyzing a way of great circulation communication. Digitalized issues between 1968 and 2009 were analyzed, selected from the key words related to aging theme. Besides that, such issues were analyzed regarding their formal aspects and of content, and the last were highlighted starting from themes referred to the present aging in Skinner's book (1983) on the old age. The main results show that the biggest number of issues was the Reports, however, they introduced a little expressive number along 41 years of publication. Most issues were written by professionals or people of the area of the health or of the aging, and the information was directly geared to the senior people in majority. It could be verified that great part of the information supplied by the media on the aging had, as antecedent, other verbal reports revealing a possible linkage, being intra verbal behaviors which are the base for the socially constructed knowledge according to Guerin. The distribution of the issues along the time belonged to an irregular way, highlighting years of 1983 and after 1999, what suggests a relation with important events: the Senior National Year and the Senior International Year, respectively. This fact is important, because it suggests that the media answers to the opportunities that the market offers, aiming to please consumers and to increase profits, carrying to the matter if it really promotes a social construction of the aging. Regarding the most discussed subjects, these were found: Cares with the Health, Emotional Alterations in the Aging, Physiologic Process of the Aging and Retirement X Work. With this result, it is possible to infer how much Skinner's book is current and useful to people who are aging and the ones who are already senior. In front of the results, the author does not consider probable that has occurred a social construction about the human aging theme has occurred, since the number of issues is very low, in addition to that, it is not possible to know, in fact, who the readers of these issues are. All this shows the urgency with that analysts of the behavior ought to promote more researches in the area of human aging, expanding their performances / O interesse em relação ao tema envelhecimento humano vem aumentando no cenário mundial e no Brasil ao longo da segunda metade do século XX. Na Análise do Comportamento, Skinner (1983) sinalizou que o envelhecer deveria ser estudado como qualquer outro comportamento através do paradigma da seleção por conseqüências. E ainda, o entendimento de que o envelhecimento humano poderia ser analisado como fenômeno social, e vem sendo socialmente construído pela mídia impressa, sob a perspectiva de Guerin, foi o objetivo da presente pesquisa. Para verificar como isso vem ocorrendo, optou-se por analisar um meio de comunicação de grande circulação, o acervo digital da revista Veja. Foram analisadas matérias digitalizadas no período de 1968 até 2009, selecionadas a partir de palavras-chave relacionadas ao tema envelhecimento. Além disso, tais matérias foram analisadas em relação aos seus aspectos formais e de conteúdo, sendo que os últimos foram destacados a partir de temas referentes ao envelhecimento presentes no livro de Skinner (1983) sobre a velhice. Os principais resultados apontam que o maior número de matérias foram as Reportagens, entretanto, apresentou um número pouco expressivo ao longo de 41 anos de publicação. A maior parte das matérias foi escrita por profissionais ou pessoas da área da saúde ou do envelhecimento, e as informações eram diretamente voltadas às pessoas idosas também em sua maioria. Pôde-se constatar que grande parte das informações fornecidas pela mídia sobre o envelhecimento teve como antecedentes outros relatos verbais, revelando um possível encadeamento, tratando-se de comportamentos intraverbais, que são a base para o conhecimento socialmente construído segundo Guerin. A distribuição das matérias ao longo do tempo foi de maneira irregular, destacando-se os anos de 1983 e após 1999, o que sugere uma relação com eventos importantes: o Ano Nacional do Idoso e o Ano Internacional do Idoso, respectivamente. Este fato é importante, pois sugere que a mídia responde às oportunidades que o mercado oferece, visando agradar consumidores e aumentar lucros, levando ao questionamento se ela, realmente, promove uma construção social do envelhecimento. Em relação aos assuntos mais tratados foram encontrados: Cuidados com a Saúde, Alterações Emocionais no Envelhecimento, Processo Fisiológico do Envelhecimento e Aposentadoria X Trabalho. Com este resultado, é possível inferir o quanto o livro de Skinner é atual e útil para as pessoas que estão envelhecendo e as que já são idosas. Diante dos resultados, a autora não considera provável que tenha ocorrido uma construção social sobre o tema envelhecimento humano, já que o número de matérias é muito baixo, além do que, não é possível saber, de fato, quem são os leitores dessas matérias. Tudo isto mostra a urgência de que os analistas do comportamento promovam mais pesquisas na área de envelhecimento humano, expandindo suas atuações

F. Skinner it has been subject of theoretical content, but it received little empirical attention. Considering recent theoretical advances on the problem of privacy, namely: (1) privacy as momentary; (2) relative to an observer; (3) different from intern; and (4) measurable in a public-private continuum. We propose the empirical investigation of privacy as a function of two variables, separately analyzed in Experiments 1 and 2, respectively: the access to the controlling variables of momentary private responses, and a common history of reinforcement. In both experiments 20 participants were divided in two groups: Base Group and Referential Group, being that the dependent variable analyzed was the probability of occurrence of verbal responses of the participants of the Referential Group that corresponded to those emitted previously by the participants of the Base Group. In the Experiment 1 the participants were exposed to a set of 8 properties for each one of 6 stimuli, while the participants of the Referential Group accessed the same 6 sets of 8 properties but cumulatively in a series. The data of the Experiment 1 shows that for all participants of the Referential Group the probability of occurrence of correct answers increased as a function of the number o stimulus properties known. In the Experiment 2 the participants were exposed to three test conditions: Baseline (BL.), Post Verbs-Training Test (V.T.) and Post Noun-Training (N.T.), being that between the first and second tests (BL. - V.T.) participants were exposed to a matching-tosample task and relations between shapes and verbs were stablished, and between the second and the third testes (V.T. - N.T.) participants were exposed to similar matching-tosample task, but the relation stablished were between shapes and nouns. All participants were requested to tact the shape stimuli during the test conditions. We observed that the transfer function procedure controlled the emission of correct answers during the tests for all participants of the Group Base. For the participants of the Referential Group the procedure was partially effective. Yet, for 13 out of 16 participants, the probability of occurrence of correct answers was a function of a common history of reinforcement, being that correct answers didn’t occurred for any participant during the Baseline. We concluded that privacy, if described accordingly with some recent theoretical contributions, may be a subject of empirical investigations that could provide conditions for: (1) a better description of the controlling relations during the verbal episode; (2) the development of an empirical agenda that allow a more straightforward analysis of privacy; and (3) an objective description of the role of inference in the analysis of events that are momentarily private considering the commitment of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior with the assumptions of natural sciences. / A temática da privacidade, desde que foi inaugurada na literatura behaviorista radical por B. F. Skinner tem sido discutida a nível teórico mas foi tema de poucos trabalhos empíricos. Considerando-se os avanços teóricos recentes na área, nomeadamente: (1) a privacidade como momentânea; (2) relativa a um observador; (3) diferenciada do interno; e (4) mensurável em um continuum público-privado. Propõe-se no presente trabalho a investigação empírica da privacidade com função de duas variáveis, analisadas individualmente nos Experimentos 1 e 2, respectivamente: o acesso às variáveis controladores de respostas momentaneamente privadas, e um histórico de reforçamento em comum. Nos dois experimentos 20 participantes foram divididos em dois grupos: Grupo Base e Grupo Referencial, sendo que a variável dependente analisada foi a probabilidade de ocorrência de respostas verbais dos participantes do Grupo Referencial que correspondiam às emitidas anteriormente por participantes do Grupo Base. No Experimento 1 os participantes foram expostos a conjuntos de estímulos controladores, sendo que os participantes do Grupo Base acessaram oito propriedades de cada um de seis estímulos-palavra simultaneamente, ao passo que os participantes do Grupo Referencial acessaram as mesmas oito propriedades dos seis estímulos-palavra de forma cumulativa em uma série. Os dados do Experimento 1 mostram que, para todos os participantes do Grupo Referencial, a probabilidade de ocorrência de respostas correspondentes variou em função do número de propriedades de estímulos-palavra conhecidas, quanto mais propriedades conhecidas mais a probabilidade de ocorrência de respostas correspondentes. No Experimento 2 os participantes foram expostos a três condições de teste: Linha de Base (L.B.), Teste pós-treino de verbos (T.V.) e Teste pós treino de substantivos (T.S.), sendo que entre o primeiro e o segundo teste (L.B. - T.V.) os participantes foram expostos a um procedimento de escolha de acordo com o modelo no qual foram estabelecidas relações entre formas e verbos, e entre o segundo e o terceiro teste (T.V. - T.S.) os participantes foram expostos a um novo procedimento de escolha de acordo com o modelo no qual foram estabelecidas relações entre formas e substantivos. Foi solicitado a todos os participantes que tateassem os estímulos forma durante as condições de teste. Observou-se que o procedimento de transferência de função controlou a emissão de respostas corretas para todos os participantes do Grupo Base. Para o Grupo Referencial o procedimento de transferência de função foi parcialmente eficiente. Ainda assim, em 13 de 16 participantes a probabilidade de ocorrência de respostas corretas foi uma função de um histórico de reforçamento em comum, sendo que não houve acertos para nenhum dos participantes durante a Linha de Base. Concluiu-se neste trabalho que a privacidade, se descrita conforme determinadas proposições teóricas recentes, pode ser alvo de investigações empíricas que podem fornecer condições para: (1) a melhor descrição das relações de controle envolvidas no episódio verbal; (2) desenvolvimento de uma agenda empírica que possibilite uma análise mais objetiva da privacidade; e (3) uma descrição mais objetiva do papel das inferências na análise de eventos momentaneamente privados, considerando-se o compromisso da Análise Experimental do Comportamento com os pressupostos das ciências naturais.

Práticas em educação ambiental no ensino formal: a promoção de competências pró-ambientais para a aquisição do auto-governo

Searching to understand the impact of the results gotten with environmental education, he verified himself if pupils who attend a course average education in public schools demonstrate pro- environmental behavior after their participation in a project of environmental education. It was analyzed an acquisition of the levels of environmental ability in the pupils of average education that have participated of activities in environmental education in relation the pupils that have not participated of them, applying activity-test to investigate the acquisition of the functional levels of the proenvironmental abilities, in pertaining to school unit who have developed projects in environmental education and in pertaining to school unit that have not developed them. Into the school unit that developed activity in environmental education - plantation of trees of Atlantic Mata - was chosen by possessing a programming of education with applied stages planned and diversified throughout 5 years, for two professors, of geography and sciences. Such characteristics had allowed to verify beyond, of the environmental impact produced by the activity in itself, also the result of the learning, as for the acquisition of abilities that had led to the conquest of the auto-government.The activitytests had been elaborated by the researcher and were based on the taxonomy proposal for Ribes (1990) for the acquisition of functional abilities. The abilities possess five levels: contextual, suplemental, selective, referencial substitute and not referencial substitute, that can be adapted to evaluate the pro- environmental abilities in the context of the environmental education. These activities daily had been tested by four specialists of the environmental area to verify the adequacy of the content in relation to the ability level, as to guide the formularization of the punctuation criterion. Also daily they had been tested in groups of pupils who had not participated of the research to verify the time expense for its accomplishment and the agreement of what he was considered in each activity. When carrying through the plantation of 66 native vegetal species of the Brazilian territory the majority of the pupils acquired pro-environmental abilities. The performance of the pupils was shaped of form to complete tasks of diverse degrees of functionality that had evolved of the actions simplest to the actions most complex. The pupils had learned to manipulate environmental variable, of form that these had affected its behavior, favoring the occurrence of useful answers for the solution of problems, what he can mean independence and autonomy. The environmental Education also can be used the estimated ones of the Analysis of the Behavior to plan and to evaluate actions that result in impacts in the environmental preservation / Para se alcançar a sustentabilidade ambiental por meio da educação, práticas em educação ambiental proporcionam ao educando a aquisição de habilidades e competências pró-ambientais. Para buscar entender o impacto dos resultados obtidos com educação ambiental, verificou-se se alunos que cursam o ensino médio em escolas públicas demonstram comportamento pró-ambiental depois de participarem de um projeto em educação ambiental. Analisou-se a aquisição dos níveis de competência ambiental nos educandos do ensino médio que tenham participado de atividades em educação ambiental em relação a educandos que não tenham participado delas, aplicando atividades-teste para investigar a aquisição dos níveis funcionais das competências pró-ambientais, em unidade escolar que tenha desenvolvido projetos em educação ambiental e em unidade escolar que não os tenham desenvolvido. A unidade escolar que desenvolveu atividade em educação ambiental - plantio de árvores da Mata Atlântica - foi escolhida por possuir uma programação de ensino com etapas planejadas e diversificadas aplicadas ao longo de 5 anos, por dois professores, o de geografia e de ciências. Tais características permitiram verificar além, do impacto ambiental produzido pela atividade em si, também o resultado da aprendizagem, no que se refere à aquisição de competências que levaram à conquista do auto-governo. As atividades-teste foram elaboradas pela pesquisadora e baseou-se na taxonomia proposta por Ribes (1990) para a aquisição de competências funcionais. As competências possuem cinco níveis: contextual, suplementar, seletivo, substitutivo referencial e substitutivo não referencial, que podem ser adaptadas para avaliar as competências próambientais no contexto da educação ambiental. Estas atividades foram pré-testadas por quatro especialistas da área ambiental para verificar a adequação do conteúdo em relação ao nível de competência, como para orientar a formulação do critério de pontuação.Também foram pré-testadas em grupos de alunos que não participaram da pesquisa para verificar o tempo gasto para sua realização e o entendimento do que foi proposto em cada atividade. Ao realizarem o plantio de 66 espécies vegetais nativas do território brasileiro a maioria dos alunos adquiriu competências pró-ambientais. O desempenho dos alunos foi modelado de forma a completar tarefas de graus de funcionalidade diversos que evoluíram das ações mais simples às ações mais complexas. Os alunos aprenderam a manipular variáveis ambientais, de forma que estas afetaram seu comportamento, favorecendo a ocorrência de respostas úteis para a solução de problemas, o que pode significar independência e autonomia. A Educação Ambiental também pode se valer dos pressupostos da Análise do Comportamento para planejar e avaliar ações que resultem em impactos na preservação ambiental

In this study, travel behavior for the users of E-scooter is analyzed based on survey questions. The main purpose of the study is to understand the nature of E-scooters users and their preferences as well as analyzing their trip parameters. The survey was designed to cover most ofthe behavioral influential factors. To represent the motives and barriers towards E-scooter adoption in greater Stockholm. it was sectioned into demographic data, general travel preferences, E-scooter choice preferences, last trip parameters and general discussion questions. Findings of this study suggested that E-scooters are mainly used by residents aged between 18-24. In Stockholm, public transportation facilities are very accessible and affordable than other private transportation modes. Travel time and travel cost were highly evaluated by the users and were considered as deciding criteria prior to making any trip in Stockholm. Findings suggested that trips made by E-scooters are mainly for fun and leisure rather than commuting and services. However, regarding normal trips, it was found that walking replaced the use of E-scooters more often. Historical data was used to validate and support the survey findings. Survey questions did not consider questions regarding impacts of COVID-19 on travel behaviours as well as the changes in travel patterns. Furthermore, the absence of highlights on research areas such as safety which covers the adoption of risky behaviours (i.e., driving on sidewalks, driving opposing traffic flow) and helmet use. The tool was used for research purposes was ‘Questionpro’. / I denna studie analyseras resebeteendet för användarna av E-scooter baserat på enkätfrågor. Huvudsyftet med studien är att förstå E-scooters användares natur och deras preferenser samt att analysera deras tripparametrar. Undersökningen var utformad för att täcka de flesta av debeteendemässiga inflytelserika faktorerna. Att representera motiv och barriärer mot e-scooteradoption i större Stockholm. den delades in i demografisk data, allmänna resepreferenser, val av E-scooter-val, parametrar för sista resan och allmänna diskussionsfrågor. Resultaten av denna studie föreslog att E-skotrar huvudsakligen används av invånare i åldrarna 18-24. I Stockholm är anläggningar för kollektivtrafik mycket tillgängliga och prisvärda än andra privata transportsätt. Restid och resekostnader utvärderades mycket av användarna och ansågs vara avgörande kriterier innan de gjorde en resa i Stockholm. Resultaten föreslog att resor med e-skotrar främst är för skoj och fritid snarare än pendling och tjänster. När det gäller normala resor fann man dock att promenader ersatte användningen av E-skotrar oftare. Historiska data användes för att validera och stödja undersökningsresultaten.

Self-concept among Swedish Forensic Psychiatric Patients

Self-concept is the individual's subjective view of themselves. It impacts interaction with others and, in turn, further the development of the self. Cultural aspects, gender differences, and psychiatric and substance use disorders further impact the subjective view of the self. Structural Analysis of Social Behavior (SASB) is a model rooted in interpersonal theory and the interpersonal circle that divides the self-concept into eight behavioral clusters over love-hate and autonomy-control. The individual's measured self-beliefs can be used in motivational work and treatment. The forensic psychiatric population is complex, with high levels of comorbidity, but little is known about how they view themselves. This study aims to capture their self-concept and examine if different psychiatric diagnostic groups have distinct self-concept profiles. One hundred and six patients who had previously completed the SASB introject questionnaire were included. Demographic data and other variables were also coded from their electronic journal. The participant's descriptives showed differences from the normative group and slight differences between the psychiatric groups. Inferential statistical analysis showed a significant difference regarding the negative clusters between the Neurodevelopmental and Psychosis groups and a trend of differing scores between the Neurodevelopmental and Personality Disorders groups. Study limitations make it hard to point to distinct self-concept profiles, but SASB-results indicate that the patients generally feel positive about themselves. Further research is needed to increase the findings' generalizability and better capture self-concept in comorbid inpatients. / FOR-SATA
