IT Product Realization Process towards Marketing Consultancy Automation – Case Study: Customer Value Sweden AB

Paralykidis, Georgios January 2015 (has links)
Management consulting is a growing field [1] that is of great importance for organisations to optimise their performance and develop plans for future improvements. In the recent years, many companies use experienced consultants in order to create a strong competitive advantage to withstand the competition and to easily find solutions suitable to different problems. Customer Value Sweden AB is a - start-up - consultancy firm that have been operating the last years in the Swedish market and offers customer database analyses to the e-commerce market. They become valuable tools for the retailers, by improving marketing activities directed toward present customers. By adopting a segmented marketing strategy, companies can target customers in a different way, thus enchanting their business [2]. This Master thesis work tries to introduce a new efficient and automated way for the company to increase its capacity and quality of the provided services. It is done by deploying an IT product realisation process that conceptualizes, designs and implements a new online web service that aims to automate the report generation process, which was carried out manually until now. This system will try to solve complexity, availability, and performance problems that occur in the current system and also open up now possibilities for future development and expansion. The key benefits of the new solution in contrast to the old one will be highlighted, as well as the process that was followed to realise it.

Carrier Grade Adaptation for an IP-based Multimodal Application Server: Moving the SoftBridge into SLEE

Sun, Tao January 2004 (has links)
<p>Providing carrier grade characteristics for Internet Protocol (IP) communication applications is a significant problem for IP application providers in order to offer integrated services that span IP&nbsp / and telecommunication networks. This thesis addresses the provision of life-cycle management, which is only one carrier grade characteristic, for a SoftBridge application, which is an example of IP communication applications. A SoftBridge provides semi-synchronous multi-modal IP-based communication. The work related to IP-Telecommunication integrated services and the SoftBridge is analyzed with respect to life-cycle management in a literature review. It is suggested to use an Application Server in a Next Generation Network (NGN) to provide life-cyclemanagement functionality for IP-Telecommunication applications. In this thesis, the Application Server is represented by a JAIN Service Logic Execution Environment(JSLEE), in which&nbsp / a SoftBridge application can be deployed, activated, deactivated, uninstalled and upgraded online. Two methodologies are applied in this research: exploratory prototyping, which evolves the development of a SoftBridge application, and empirical comparison, which is concerned with the empirical evaluation of a SoftBridge application in terms of carriergrade capabilities. A SoftBridge application called SIMBA&nbsp / provides a Deaf Telephony service similar to aprevious Deaf Telephony SoftBridge, However, SIMBA&rsquo / s SoftBridge design and implementation are unique to this thesis. In order to test the life-cycle&nbsp / management ability of SIMBA, an empirical evaluation is carried out including the experiments oflife-cycle management and call-processing performance. The final experimental results of the evaluation show that a JSLEE is able to provide life-cycle management for SIMBA without causing a significant decrease in performance. In conclusion, the life-cycle management can be provided&nbsp / or a SoftBridge application by using an Application Server such as a JSLEE. Futhermore, the results indicate that&nbsp / approach of using Application Server (JSLEE) integration should be&nbsp / sufficiently general to provide life cycle management, and indeed other carrier grade capabilities, for other IP communication applications. This allows IP communication applications to be&nbsp / &nbsp / &nbsp / integrated into an NGN.</p>

Ein Beitrag zur Problematik der Integration virtueller Maschinen / A contribution to the problem of integrating virtual machines

Kugel, Rudolf January 2005 (has links)
Modern software systems are complex entities which are frequently linked to other technical and economic systems. For the manufacturers of such systems it often represents a big challenge to fulfill the demanding requirements concerning the adaptability of such systems. One possible way to meet the demands is to integrate a virtual machine into the system concerned. <br><br> This thesis is primarily intended to be used by persons who intend to integrate a virtual machine into an existing system. The primary goal is to pinpoint those dependencies which are important for decisions about integration questions. <br><br> The integration of a virtual machine into an existing system is typically accompanied by many different problems. Since these problems are often closely interconnected, it often makes no sense to treat them individually. Therefore, the problems are introduced along with an adequately chosen, complex real life example. This example deals with the integration of the "Java Virtual Machine" into the "SAP R/3" application server. Following this practical example, the discussion of integration problems is deepened by presenting an assortment of additional examples taken from the literature. <br><br> The main problem encountered during the treatment of the integration process was caused by inadequate and incomparable descriptions of the samples used. The existing descriptions were therefore unsuitable as a basis of discussion for the integration topic. For a useful discussion, it was necessary to prepare a uniform and sound modeling of these systems. This was done by adopting the "Fundamental Modeling Concepts (FMC)" technique. The created models as well as the comparison of the different approaches that can be used to solve typical integration problems form the main contribution of the thesis. <br><br> The integration of virtual machines into existing systems is frequently accompanied by the requirement to have the integrated virtual machine process several "programs" simultaneously. In view of the design features of many common virtual machines, the realization of a virtual machine integration that allows the integrated virtual machine to be operated in "multiprogram" mode is still challenging. The most challenging task in this context is the problem of keeping the resource usage of the system at a tolerable level. A comparison of measures that can be taken to reduce the resource usage of an integrated virtual machine that can be operated in "multiprogram" mode forms a second essential contribution of the thesis.

Ameling, Michael 07 September 2009 (has links)
Business applications such as supply chain management (SCM) or customer relationship management (CRM) are replicated in order to reach high scalability and fast local access. The business objects representing the data containers have to be synchronized to stay consistent across the application servers. This thesis provides a contribution to reach more efficiency during the synchronization process by reducing the amount of synchronization messages and the amount of data to be transmitted. The additional effort due to further processing steps is taken into account via a proper cost model.

Hansen, Tom January 2014 (has links)
The technology used in the development of web-applications is evolving at such rate that it has become more and more important to keep web-applications modern. If an application is based on a technical platform that is not renewed, the platform may over time develop into an obstacle in further development of the application. There may be compatibility issues and some of the code may be unnecessary due to abstraction, and therefore more time consuming to work with. Sometimes the reason may be that an application has been built to run, and is running on an application server that is no longer being maintained. The system can be large and modernization can cost a lot. In the study conducted and written about in the report, the task is to look at what possibilities there are to cost-effectively perform such a modernization. In the study two general modernization methods are identified, which define two different approaches that are studied. The different modernization approaches are tested in modernization of a web-based Java application to see advantages and disadvantages. The study results in two solutions, one more costly but that can have some benefits and another more cost-effective but that can be more short-sighted.

Webová aplikace zprostředkovávající výsledky testování výkonu platformy JBoss / Test Result Repository with Web User Interface

Vlasák, Jaroslav January 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals with the development of a client-server application for Red Hat company. Client participates in testing process of JBoss platform and gets user-defined performance data which sends during testing to the server application by platform independent communication. The server application allows to analyze the received data which can be also compared by several perspectives. These services for data analysis and comparison are accessible for server users using the web client. The server application supports the import of the performance data stored in the XML file and also their export for qVue portal. The client part of the application is implemented in Java and the server application is based on Java EE platform.
