To use art and culture like mediation the way we look at elderly people suffering of Alzheimer’s disease : psychodynamic study about meetings between patients and families within four EHPAD

Alemagna, Leslie 12 December 2016 (has links)
Aging in our current society, in which death is constantly pushed backwards, places the elderly at risk of exclusion from the social sphere. "Aging young": here is the paradox we are facing every day. The way society views the elderly, especially those suffering from Alzheimer's disease, is pejorative, referring to dependence, decline and decay. Alzheimer's disease is often defined as “severing of connections” , often seen as an impediment to communication and relationships, especially with family members. " An individual is a social being" says Norbert Elias, sociologist. So taking into consideration the stigmatization of Alzheimer disease and the social representation that family members may have, it becomes possible to develop tools that would allow a different type of bond in the future. After several months of immersion, observations and meetings in different EHPAD, this study offers an approach to transform and build an alternative outlook on people suffering from Alzheimer's disease through an introduction to artistic and cultural measures.

Cartografando memórias, vivências e sensibilidade : a arte-cidade-universidade/UFRGS

Boettcher, Claudia Escovar Alfaro January 2018 (has links)
The dissertation “Cartographing memories, experiences and sensibilities – Art-City-University/UFRGS” proposes to identify how the practices of art and culture promoted by UFRGS build relationships with those who experience that cultural action. The research aims to materialize the intensity of the experience lived in the actions of the Project Unimúsica and how this project was able to mark the memory of the people who related to him. The traces and tracks of this project were searched through documents, reports, videos, images and sounds. It was tried to demonstrate that the institutional permanence of a cultural action, with a varied proposition reaches an intensity capable of composing a memory denominated “Affective cartography” originated in the relation that was established between individuals, the UFRGS and the city of Porto Alegre.

Den konstnärliga hanteringen av ljud : En studie av ljudkonst och populärkultur / The artistic treatment of sound : A study of sound art and popular culture

Johansson, Fredrik January 2011 (has links)
With concentration on the art form sound art and the artistic treatment of sound, this essay investigates an interaction between the fine arts and popular culture. Romanidade em Plinio, o Antigo, e a Naturalis História como um \'projeto\' político-pedagógico / Romanness in Pliny the Elder and the Natural History as a political-pedagogical project

Teixeira, Ivana Lopes 04 April 2013 (has links)
The aim of this research, Romanness in Pliny the Elder and the Natural History as a political-pedagogical project, is to analyze the Natural History (44-77 AD) as a discourse produced in a specific socio-historical context, in which Pliny the Elder (23-79 AD), based on Latin and Greek tradition, introduced a new ideal of Romanness. The research also proposes to read this Romanness vis-à-vis the issue of identity in the ancient Greco-Roman world. In the 1st century, in an increasingly multicultural and multiethnic empire, the Pax provided by the government of Vespasian (69-79 AD), of the Flavian dynasty, expanded a process of romanization in which Pliny participated as intellectual and government official. Pliny presented his Natural History as a thesaurus or memoryItalian-Roman and Greekof the Roman Empires grandeur. Our hypothesis proposes the complete reading of the Natural History (with an emphasis on the analysis of the preface and books 2 and 33 through 37) as Plinys political-pedagogical or ideological project, in which the idea of Romanness can be read as a kind of supra-ethnic identity or as an ideal model of imperial conduct: political, economic, social, cultural, and moral. We propose to look at Romanness as a notion of Roman identity that reordered and recreated hierarchies for the imperial world, starting from the city of Rome, the customs, Greek art, and the court of Vespasian, the new Augustus. For this, we take into consideration Plinys discourse, his sources, reading and writing rhetoric, and the perspectives afforded by his text, by the ideal of Latin romanitas and humanitas, the historical context of his work, and modern theories about social identities in the ancient world. The Natural History as Enkyklios Paideia was the bearer of a thesaurus that reintroduced the importance of traditional Roman values as it described the historical conjuncture of Plinys time, the principality from the Julio-Claudian to the Vespasian dynasties, crises, Pax, and the increasing integration of several peoples.

Images, toys and art works integrate such ideological framework which impels behavior and contributes for an alienated consumption. To educate in a context in which images seduce and attract for consumption invading our daily life is one of the challenges of art teaching. Contemporary art has a potential to give voice to students subjectivity and to promote dialogical, critical and inclusive learning. This work investigates the way how six students, future teachers three women and three men attending the Visual Arts Teaching Program at the Visual Arts College of the Federal University of Goiás, understand and interrelate with contemporary art images as their teaching object. Inspired on my observations concerning the resistance to the use of these images in classrooms, this research constitutes a sample of collected data that builds a net of point of views that sometimes overcross, sometimes diverge, but, especially, reflect pedagogical, social and cultural issues naturalized in the understandings and conceptions of those future teachers. Developed through individual interviews and focal groups, this investigation is oriented by a qualitative methodological perspective which considers images, talks, silences, gestures and reactions as part of a critical and constructive analysis of narratives that dialogue with visual culture / A maneira como artefatos influenciam e são influenciados pela cultura é fator recorrente na contemporaneidade.
