Nonattendance, behavior problems and social disjuncture of young people shows that pupils have problems: such as the feeling of low self-assessment, lack of self confidence. Economical, social conditions, lack of activities cause different kinds of addiction, breaches of the law, offences among the teenagers. Thus, seeking to see the peculiarities of behavior and self-assessment of pupils who don‘t attend school, it is necessary to perform the detailed objective study by ascertaining which actions define different solutions of problems. The study aim object - 5-10 grade secondary school children not attending school. The aim - to analyse the peculiarities of behaviour and self-assessment of children having school attendancy problems. The main goals: 1. To analyse the teenagers‘not attending school, behavior and self assessment problems, on the basis of scientific-pedagogical, psychological literature. 2. To analyse the attitude of teenagers having school attendancy problems towards themselves, relationship with teachers, parents and contemporaries. 3. To reveal the attitude of pupils, having school attendancy problems towards learning. 4. To prepare recommendations for school administrators and tearchers. O estudo é de caráter exploratório, e foi conduzido com entrevistas individuais com clientes pessoa física e gerentes de bancos públicos e privados de Brasília/DF, com o intuito de explorar o relacionamento entre cliente-banco, para uma melhor orientação na direção das análises dos dados obtidos. Os dados foram coletados junto a 11 entrevistados de ambos os sexos, residentes em Brasília/DF, durante os meses de março e abril de 2011. Para atingir os objetivos propostos, o método de pesquisa adotado foi qualitativo, com foco no valor informacional da mensagem propriamente dita, das palavras, argumentos e idéias nela expressos, utilizando-se uma forma interpretativa para a análise dos dados. Os resultados demonstraram o afastamento conceitual entre a ideia de lealdade dos bancos, definida como algo ligado ao entendimento de que o cliente, confiante em seu banco, está satisfeito e não o deixa, e o seu conceito em marketing de relacionamento, que a define como um profundo compromisso do cliente em recomprar um produto/serviço consistentemente no futuro, pois constatou-se que os clientes bancários, independentemente de fatores como o tempo gasto ou o esforço associados à troca de fornecedores, são sensíveis a aumento substancial da tarifação, não tem compromisso de recompra com banco e nem de compra junto a um único banco. Em decorrência, se pode concluir que não são fiéis/leais. Como fatores responsáveis por relacionamento duradouro com bancos, verificou-se, como principais, a qualidade do atendimento prestado pelo banco e a reciprocidade existente no relacionamento, ambos são constituintes dos sentimentos de satisfação e confiança nos clientes bancários. Conclui-se o trabalho, fazendo-se recomendações com a intenção de beneficiar e desenvolver os gestores deste segmento. / This paper aims to verify whether there is or not a congruence between the idea of loyalty, showed by the speech of bank businessmen, and their concept of relationship marketing by identifying the sense of that construct in the messages of the bank institutions, besides the identification of the factors that make clients keep a longer relationship with banks in general. The study is a kind of exploratory and it has been conducted by individual interviews with physical clients and managers of public and private banks in Brasilia/DF, aiming to explore the relationship between clientsbank for a better orientation related to the data analysis obtained. The data have been collected by the 11 interviewed men and women, who live in Brasilia/DF, from March to April, 2011. To reach all the proposed goals, the research method adopted was the qualitative one, focusing the information value of the message itself, the words, argumentation and ideas expressed in them by using an interpretative form for the data analysis. The results demonstrated the conceptual separation between the banks’ loyalty idea, defined as something related to the understanding that the clients, confident in their bank, are satisfied and will not leave it, and the concept of relationship marketing, which defines it as a serious commitment of the clients to buy back a product/service consistently in the future, because it has been proved that bank clients, regardless of factors like time spent or the effort associated to the providers exchange, are sensitive to the substantial increase of the taxation; there is no compromise to repurchase with any other bank or to buy from an only one. Consequently, it may be deducted that those clients are not faithful/loyal. According to the main factors for longer relationships with banks, it has been verified that the attending quality offered by the bank and the existing reciprocity in the relationship with clients are both the constituting feelings of satisfaction and confidence for the bank clients. Thus, this paper is concluded by doing some recommendation with the intention of to benefit and develop managers of this segment.

Dynamic Attending Theory postulates oscillations of attention, that may synchronize by entrainment to rhythmic events from environment. Rhythm perception has been shown to involve classical motor areas, notably basal ganglia. These sub-cortical nuclei has been also linked to executive functioning, due to existence of cortical-striatum-thalamic-cortical loops. Since executive function is based on prefrontal cortex activity, this work aims to characterize effect of auditory rhythmic stimuli on motor behavior, executive function and electrophysiological responses. Sample (n=24) was previously calculated by G*Power 3.1 software. Participants were submitted to finger tapping and executive tasks (sequential arithmetic sum), while auditory tones were played or not. Our results show motor synchronization for ISI 500 ms, and increased variability for ISI 350 ms and 650 ms. Autonomic electrophysiological responses did not show any changes, except for a decreased heart rate at ISI 350 ms, Non-Synchronized Condition. Delta-Gama Modulation Index is negatively correlated with hitrate for ISI 350 ms, but positively correlated with hitrate at Synchronized Condition. ISI impacts on hitrate, but a larger modulation of both ISI and auditory stimuli over Reaction Time is shown. Our results suggest an ?optimal entrainment range?, centered at 500 ms, and an increased likelihood for involuntary synchronization at this point. Besides, results suggest so-called cold and hot executive functions are independent processes, and also that nervous system may activate different processing ways for different temporal contexts. These findings also corroborate the existence of a rhythmic processing mode, however, with decreased performance through high speed processing request.

Managerial Intervention Strategies to Reduce Patient No-Show Rates

High patient no-show rates increase health care costs, decrease healthcare access, and reduce the clinical efficiency and productivity of health care facilities. The purpose of this exploratory qualitative single case study was to explore and analyze the managerial intervention strategies healthcare administrators use to reduce patient no-show rates. The targeted research population was active American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Hawaii-Pacific Chapter healthcare administrative members with operational and supervisory experience addressing administrative patient no-show interventions. The conceptual framework was the theory of planned behavior. Semistructured interviews were conducted with 4 healthcare administrators, and appointment cancellation policy documents were reviewed. Interpretations of the data were subjected to member checking to ensure the trustworthiness of the findings. Based on the methodological triangulation of the data collected, 5 common themes emerged after the data analysis: reform appointment cancellation policies, use text message appointment reminders, improve patient accessibility, fill patient no-show slots immediately, and create organizational and administrative efficiencies. Sharing the findings of this study may help healthcare administrators to improve patient health care accessibility, organizational performance and the social well-being of their communities.

Šiandien yra būtina lanksti švietimo įstaigų darbo sistema, todėl šiame darbe buvo aiškinamasi, kokia šiuo metu yra tėvų nuomonė apie įvairias šių įstaigų teikiamas ikimokyklinio ugdymo paslaugas vaikams. Tyrimo tikslas. Išanalizuoti ikimokyklinio ugdymo paslaugų šeimoms ir vaikams, kurie lanko ir nelanko ikimokyklinio ugdymo įstaigas, paslaugų įvairovę. Tyrimo uždaviniai: išsiaiškinti ikimokyklinio ugdymo ir su juo susijusių paslaugų įvairovę vaikams, kurie lanko įstaigas ir kurie nelanko, vėliau šias abi paslaugų kryptis palyginti. Buvo numatyta hipotezė, kad ikimokyklinio ugdymo paslaugų įvairovė skiriasi kiekybės požiūriu ir netenkina pakitusių visuomenės poreikių. Tiriamųjų imtis: 1190 respondentų. Iš kurių - 898 tėvai, kurių vaikai lanko ikimokyklinio ugdymo įstaigas ir 292 tėvai, kurių vaikai nelanko šių įstaigų. Tėvai buvo pasirinkti iš įvairių Lietuvos miestų ir rajonų. Nustatyti tyrimo faktai leidžia teigti, kad tyrimo hipotezė pasitvirtino- daugiau paslaugų yra teikiama vaikams, kurie lanko ikimokyklines ugdymo įstaigas .Tiems, kurie jų nelanko- paslaugų įvairovė yra žymiai menkesnė, todėl turėtų būti geriau apgalvota ir kryptingiau organizuojama. Raktažodžiai: vaikų priežiūros paslaugos, šeimos politika, paslaugos šeimoms ir vaikams, ikimokyklinio ugdymo įstaigas lankantys ir nelankantys vaikai, paslaugų įvairovė. / Nowadays it is essential to have an adapting system of educational institutions, therefore in this thesis analysis have been conducted about parents’ opinion of various services which pre-school educational institutions provide. Goal of this investigation: To analyze the variety of pre-school educational institutions and services for children that attends or absent them and their families. Aim of this investigation: To determine the variety of pre-school educational institutions for children who attend or absent these institutions and the services that are provided by them and compare these two branches. A hypothesis state, that pre-school educational institution’s services does not meet the changed society’s demands, nor there are sufficient of them. Poll respondents are: 1190 parents, from which 898 people whose children attend pre-school educational institutions and 292 parents’ children that do not attend them. Parents have been chosen from different Lithuania’s cities and areas. Poll shows that hypothesis of this investigation can be confirmed. More services are provided for children who attend these institutions, compared to children that do not. In this case system ought to be carefully rethought and organized more efficiently. For this, it was done a bibliographic study that understood the elements that characterize the hypermedia resources and a new theoretical proposal for learning in the digital age, developed by George Siemens, which is called Connectivism. It was concluded by a historical review in the instructional materials and resources used for teaching of a second language. Concerning to the methodology, it was taken with the qualitative study of ethnographic feature and it was counted with the voluntary participation of thirteen students of both sexes enrolled in the course selected and tied to the poles. During the fieldwork, semi-structured interviews were conducted and navigations in the didactic materials of the specific disciplines of the course, as the focus was to observe how the hypermedia resources were available and used by the students. The results showed that the students visualize the strong and the weak points of the didactic materials that they used during the course. Moreover, they also realized what are the purposes and functions of the hypermedia resources available and made suggestions to improve them. However, factors such as skill level, time and necessity may be decisive during their study practices. Finally, it is possible to reach the following conclusions concerning to the hypermedia didactic materials: first, the reason for them to be constructed from the combination of different languages and media and they also foment a non-linear navigation, which enable the students through their needs and style to assume a role of co-author of his or her material and to define which paths will be included / excluded during the study. Second, the hypermedia resources that were analyzed help to the learning when it brings real life contexts to the content which allows associations between prior knowledge and new information and providing practical applications of topics. And third, by incorporating elements that are available in cyberspace, which benefit in the development of the networks of the students learning and adding new nodes. For the education, this can be useful for making known the views of the students about resources and how this relates to the ways of use of the didactic materials during the study and learning. / O presente trabalho teve por objetivo investigar de que forma os recursos hipermidiáticos utilizados na educação a distância podem estar relacionados com a aquisição de aprendizagem de alunos do curso de Licenciatura em Letras Inglês da Universidade Aberta do Brasil, em parceria com a Universidade Federal do Ceará. Para isso, realizou-se um levantamento bibliográfico que compreendeu os elementos que caracterizam os recursos hipermidiáticos e uma nova proposta teórica para a aprendizagem na era digital, desenvolvida por George Siemens, chamada de conectivismo. Finalizou-se com uma revisão histórica nos materiais didáticos e recursos utilizados para o ensino de uma segunda língua. Com relação à metodologia, trabalhou-se com a pesquisa qualitativa de caráter etnográfico e contou-se com a participação voluntária de treze alunos, de ambos os sexos, regularmente matriculados no curso e vinculados aos polos selecionados. Durante o trabalho de campo, foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas e navegações nos materiais didáticos das disciplinas analisadas do curso, já que se buscava observar como os recursos hipermidiáticos eram disponibilizados e utilizados pelos alunos. Os resultados mostram que os alunos visualizam os pontos fortes e fracos dos materiais didáticos que utilizavam durante o curso. Além disso, perceberam quais são as finalidades e as funções dos recursos hipermidiáticos disponibilizados e apresentaram sugestões para melhorá-los. Entretanto, fatores como nível de proficiência, tempo e necessidade podem ser determinantes durante as suas práticas de estudo. Por fim, pode-se chegar às seguintes conclusões com relação aos materiais didáticos hipermidiáticos: primeiro, por serem construídos a partir da combinação de diferentes linguagens e mídias, e fomentarem uma navegação não linear, possibilitam que o aluno, por meio de suas necessidades e estilo, assuma um papel de coautor do seu material, ao definir quais caminhos serão incluídos/excluídos durante o estudo. Segundo, os recursos hipermidiáticos, analisados, contribuem para a aprendizagem ao trazerem para o conteúdo contextos reais, possibilitando associações entre os conhecimentos prévios e as novas informações e proporcionando aplicações práticas das temáticas. E terceiro, por incorporarem elementos que estão disponíveis no ciberespaço, beneficiam no desenvolvido das redes de aprendizagens dos alunos e na agregação de novos nós. Para a educação, este trabalho pode ser útil por tornar conhecidas as percepções dos alunos sobre os recursos e como isso está relacionado às formas de utilização dos materiais didáticos durante o estudo e a aprendizagem.

The topic of the thesis is {\clqq} The examination of state of health of citizens for the purposes of social welfare benefits.{\crqq} Medical statement sevice ensures this activity, which has a wide medical, social, employment and economic importance. On 1st January 2006 the first instance medical statement service was divided into the insurance and non-insurance system. OSSZ and ČSSZ continues providing examinations for the insurance systems while the examination for the non-insurance system is carried out by physicians of the newly created examination services of employment agencies. The paper aims at analysing the so far experience of the medical statement service after the division into the insurance and non-insurance system. I presume that the division of the medical statement service and its transformation have been effective. I have dealt with the medical statement system in the most wide context. In the theoretical part I have concentrated on historical development of the medical statement service, on its system and the scope of activity of the medical statement service and I did not omit the examination of state of health of citizens for the purposes of the social welfare systems. In the practical part I concentrated on physicians carrying out medical statements for employment agencies and district administrations of social welfare, on their feelings, opinions on the reorganization of the medical statement service in 2006. The research was carried out in Central Bohemia region with the view to evaluate the division of the medical statement service in the insurance and non-insurance system. A quantitave attitude was chosen for this research usingt the questionnaire method. Two types of questionnaires were handed out: for physicians of the medical statement service of employment agencies and for physicians of medical statement service of district administration of social welfare system. In total there were 40 questionnaires handed out to the physicians of medical statement service of district administration of social welfare system and 25 to the physicians of the medical statement service of employment agencies. 34 (100%) questionnaires were used filled by the employment agencies physicians and 16 (100%) questionnaires filled by the physicians of the district administration of social welfare system. I chose the graph form to process the research part of the paper. The principal hypothesis was confirmed. For both the physicians of the medical statement service of employment agencies and physicians of medical statement service of district administration of social welfare system was proved that the division of the medical statement service into the insurance and non-insurance system was effective. Further activities within the organization of the medical statement service should endeavour to depict small discrepancies and to ensure a continuous improvement of the system.
