The thermoregulatory system of the broilers not being fully developed, especially in the first 15 days of life, therefore it is necessary to provide a complementary heating system that provides adequate conditions to the thermal comfort of the broilers in order to avoid that they have lower conversion feed. In context, was the objective of the present study it was to characterize a temperature distribution and heating of the air the heating system called Radiant Convective Tube (TRC). A shed with 96 m2 of area was prepared in order to provide conditions similar to that of an aviary and the equipment was allocated in that environment. For external temperatures of 7oC, 16oC, 22oC and 28oC, it was verified that the heater did not provide adequate heating when the external temperature was at 7oC, that is, the worst situation, and it is not recommended for heating in the two weeks of broilers life. For the temperature of 16o C, the heater provided adequate air heating according to the demand of the broilers. For temperatures of 22 ° C and 28 ° C, indoor air heating to the shed was excessive both at the level of broilers and ambient air and a good temperature adjustment was not possible. It is recommended for future work the characterization of the zootechnical performance of the broilers submitted to this heating system, since its temperature distribution as well as the air heating potential is already known.

This study aimed to raise and evaluate comparatively the thermal environment inside two different barns equipped by two environment conditioning systems, in vertical system: a) open facilities with natural ventilation, and b) closed facilities mechanically ventilated subjected to negative pressure in tunnel mode and with evaporative cooling. This research was carried out on a commercial farm, located in the Pouso Alegre city - Minas Gerais, located the Serra da Mantiqueira. The sheds were comprised of five rows of cages and six levels height each, which allows housing of up to 100 thousand birds. Within each facility were used sixty temperature sensors and twenty humidity sensors distributed in the halls between the battery cages and in the sides uniformly and equidistantly along the shed length at two levels height. One humidity sensor and one temperature sensor were installed inside a weather shelter, near the facilities to monitor the external environmental conditions. The thesis is organized into chapters as follows: Chapter 1: Environmental Architectural Systems for egg production in Brazil - Review; Chapter 2: Characterization of the thermal environment in open facilities with natural ventilation, in vertical systems; Chapter 3: Temperature characterization in closed facilities mechanically ventilated subjected to negative pressure in tunnel mode; Chapter 4: Comparison of the thermal environment of the open facilities with natural ventilation and closed facilities mechanically ventilated subjected to negative pressure in tunnel mode. It was observed that use of closed facilities mechanically ventilated subjected to negative pressure in tunnel mode leads the average temperature and relative humidity inside the sheds with lower amplitude over time. However, this installation presents longitudinal gradient high temperature. Except for the cages placed near the east and west, sides of the barn ventilated naturally, the other cages presented temperatures significant difference about 2°C compared to temperature measured by the sensor located in the hallway next to monitored cage. Regarding the relative humidity measured inside the cages, all values showed significant difference when compared to the values checked in the hallway, which had higher humidity. About the ideal position to allocated temperature and humidity sensors in the sheds, it was observed that for open facility with natural ventilation; the central position on the lower level is indicated for the temperature sensors and the nearby positions east face to south and west face to north are better to moisture sensors. For the closed facilities mechanically ventilated subjected to negative pressure in tunnel mode, the central position of the lower level and the central position near the south face are those given to allocate the temperature sensors. While for allocation of relative humidity, sensors are the side central positions.

Gabriel, José Eduardo Ferreira, 1956- January 2004 (has links)
Caracterização tipológica e bioclimática da avicultura de postura no Estado de São Paulo – um estudo de caso / Typology and bioclimatic characterization of laying hen housing in the State of São Paulo – a case study

Telatin Junior, Aurélio 31 May 2007 (has links)
This work aimed to characterize the rearing system environment of laying hens, of the commercial farms in the State of São Paulo, in relation to the typology, bioclimatology, and the stockmanship well-being. In the first stage, 6 farms were selected. In these farms, chosen for the previous settle criteria, was carried out analyzes of the environment by means measurements of ammonia concentration, sound pressure level, temperature and relative humidity of air and the thermal comfort index in the facilitie and also, by means of poll between the workers, was analyzed the stockmanship welfare. In the second stage, a case study was achieve, making bioclimatic analysis of two rearing systems: battery cages (pyramidal format) with 4 rows in 2 levels with ceramic roofing tiles and the pyramidal format with 6 rows in 3 levels with asbestos roofing tiles. As results, was found facilities that can be suspended or in the ground with multi tiered cages (battery cages arranged back-to-back in a pyramidal format) that differs in width, handling, automation and type of covering; 2) multi tiered in vertical arrangement (obligatorily automatic and with mechanic ventilation), and 3) single horizontal rows, poorly utilized in function of its low density. The ammonia concentration did not reach the insalubrities level, being, also below the indicated level by the NR15 (20ppm). The biggest levels were found in farms with vertical arrangements of cages and the lowest levels was observed in the farms with suspended facilities. The sound pressure level, even so cited for employees as being bothering, was inside that limits of salubrious indicated by the technique norm to eight hours of labor (85dB). The egg production sector makes few exigencies in relation to the level of schoolarity and experience, being able to be considered a good chance for the first job. The observed predominance working into facilities was of young people with less than twenty years old, male, with good health. There was low index of repulse of work environment. The sector didn't offer exigency for the IPE use. At the second stage, none of the two studied systems was considered unhealthy concerning the ammonia concentration and sound pressure level and the thermal comfort index. The bioclimatic estimate, showed that those system covered by ceramic roofing tiles had better results.

Mass, energy and exergy balance in the intensive production of broilers.

Migliavacca, Alencar 31 August 2017 (has links)
Brazilian production of broilers has been highlighted with the implantation of the integrated production system, which improved the efficiency and quality in animal protein conversion. However, due to the rapid technological evolution with the increasing energy demand and the diversification of production systems in different microclimates, elucidating mass and energy conversion processes has become a challenging task regarding this production system. Constantly, researchers, producers and agribusiness look for more profitable processes, reducing the labour demand and environmental impact. However, an integrated evaluation of the productive system of broilers, considering the quantitative, energy and environmental aspects has never been carried out. Thus, this study aims at promoting a detailed mass and energy balance and to evaluate the quality of the energy conversions in the productive process of broilers by means of exergy analysis. With the survey of inputs, products and direct wastes, linked to the production cycle, the mass flow rates for the different processes of the cycle were quantified and a complete diagnosis of the quantity and quality energetic involved was obtained applying the exergy evaluation. Considering the scenario adopted, in mass terms, the greatest demands identified for the inputs were water (69.2%) and feed (24.9%). At the exit of the process, the greenhouse gases/dust extracted through ventilation (39.4%), the firewood combustion gases (25.6%) and the litter poultry generated (14.2%) are the main outputs. The broilers mass was quantified in 20%. The relation between water and feed consumption has shown to be the temperature. Regarding energy, the largest contribution identified for the inputs was feed (77.7%) followed by the absorbent (9.7%) and firewood (9.6%). At the exit of the process lead the energy associated with the broilers (33.2%) and the poultry litter generated (32.1%). The energy performance obtained for conventional shed was 27%. The processes of the largest exergy destroyed within the productive cycle are the litter poultry converted from excreta (51.5% in conventional and 48.2% in air conditioning) and the combustion of wood for heating (21.9% in conventional and 20.5% in air conditioning). In addition, the second law performance for the cycle was estimated in about 26%. The energy and exergy production index was introduced allowing for the comparison among different systems. As the main residue, the litter poultry generated in the cycle when reused as an input for heating the aviary itself in the form of briquettes, can increase these efficiencies. The use of LPG is more environmentally friendly compared to wood, considering the average demands for the too forms of heating, due to the direct form of heat transfer to the broilers. It is advisable, on hot days, to raise the air speed using the evaporative cooling only in cases of high ambient temperature, as the introduction of water raises the exergy dissipated in the cycle.

Alencar Migliavacca 31 August 2017 (has links)
