No. of bitstreams: 1 tese final - 220212.pdf: 823269 bytes, checksum: 73fbbf7fe4f49cec560d700457cca02a (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-01-31 / The main purpose of this study is to determine the impact of questionable governance practices on Agrenco´s management, listed under BDR program, over the returns of other companies with the same structure. Previous papers were about to determine the factors that influence firms in their decision to list their stocks in different stock exchanges. This one is related to the impact on the returns of a bankruptcy event on a company listed under BDR structure over other companies with the same characteristics. Understand the consequences of Agrenco´s event is mandatory to financial markets players. Two methods of analysis were applied in this study. The fist approach was referred to a simple graphical observation of asset prices listed under BDR programs. The second, used econometric models to understand if Agrenco´s event resulted in negative returns to companies listed under BDRs structures. A time series model was applied (AR approach of auto-regression) by using structural break dummy variable. Both of them were intended to verify that from the date of the bankruptcy of Agrenco, the companies listed in the form of BDRs were negatively affected by their prices as a result of such event. The results, based on the charts, not indicated a detachment of the most of share´s return from the Ibovespa index one week after the announcement of the financial problems of Agrenco. The second, based on econometric tests, indicated that there was Agrenco´s impact on the returns of stocks listed in the form of BDR. The major contribution of this study was to verify that the event of bankruptcy on Agrenco contaminated the return of other companies listed under the same vehicle as a source of funding.

Echange d'informations en temps réel dans les réseaux de véhicules / Real-time information exchange in vehicular networks

Benaidja, Amira 05 September 2016 (has links)
Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANETs) have gained considerable attention in the past few years due to their promising applications such as safety warning, transport efficiency or mobile infotainment. Avoiding accidents and traffic jams are two main immediate benefits of vehicular networks. For instance, most drivers would like to receive real-time alerts about accidents happening at a short distance in front of their vehicles since these accidents could lead to collision chains involving tens of vehicles. Also, the ability to receive an alert about a potential traffic jam would allow drivers to take alternate routes, saving both time and fuel. In both cases, warning messages should be broadcasted to all vehicles traveling over a geographical area, and need to be delivered with high reliability, low delay and low overhead. It is therefore important to develop a reliable and efficient safety information dissemination protocol in vehicular networks. Due to the vehicle mobility and lossy wireless channel, highly reliable, scalable and fast multi-hop broadcast protocol is very challenging to design. A number of solutions have been proposed in the past few years. However, the tradeoff between reliability and efficiency in such solutions needs to be carefully considered. This thesis presents an optimal protocol for the broadcast of safety messages in VANETs. Optimality, in terms of delay and transmission count, is achieved using a broadcast strategy that exploits opposite vehicles. To carry out reliable and efficient broadcast coordination, intelligent periodic rebroadcasts, which effectively adapt our protocol to sparse and dense networks, are proposed. Simulations are conducted and results are presented to show that it has a better performance over existing competing protocols. As a second contribution, we propose an alternative Receiver-Sender approach that combines advantages of the two existing dissemination approaches (Sender-oriented and Receiver-oriented to which our first proposal belongs) to ensure low latency and high reliability. The proposal can use any sender or receiver oriented protocol but the same selected one is used during all the dissemination process. In order to overcome the unreliability and broadcast overhead generated by periodic rebroadcasts and multiple relays schemes, we introduce a DR/BDR (Designated Relay/Backup Designated Relay) mechanism where the BDR has to replace the DR when detecting, from exchanged colored beacons, its failure in informing concerned vehicles.

[en] DESIGN RATIONALE IN THE TRIPLIFICATION OF RELATIONAL DATABASES / [pt] DESIGN RATIONALE NA TRIPLIFICAÇÃO DE BANCOS DE DADOS RELACIONAIS

RITA CRISTINA GALARRAGA BERARDI 02 August 2016 (has links)
[en] One of the most popular strategies to publish structured data on the Web is to expose relational databases (RDB) in the RDF format. This process is called in RDB-to-RDF or triplification. Furthermore, the Linked Data principles offer useful guidelines for this process. Broadly stated, there are two main approaches to map relational databases into RDF: (1) the direct mapping approach, where the database schema is directly mapped to an RDF schema; and (2) the customized mapping approach, where the RDF schema may significantly differ from the original database schema. In both approaches, there are challenges related to the publication and to the consumption of the published data. This thesis proposes the capture of design rationale as a valuable source of information to minimize the challenges in RDB-to-RDF processes. Essentially, the capture of design rationale increases the awareness about the actions taken over the relational database to map it as an RDF dataset. The main contributions of this thesis are: (1) a design rationale (DR) model adequate to RDB-to-RDF processes, independently of the approach (direct or customized) followed; (2) the integration of a DR model in an RDB-to-RDF direct mapping process and in an RDB-to-RDF customized mapping process using the R2RML language; (3) the use of the DR captured to improve the recommendations for vocabularies to reuse.
