I arbetet analyseras Tysklands blixtkrig under andra världskriget för att ta fram fyra jämförelsedimensioner som kan sägas är det som karaktäriserar blixtkrig. Dessa jämförelsedimensioner används sedan i fallstudier för att lyfta fram förfarande för blixtkrig. Jag gör två fallstudier i mitt arbete på Israels och USA:s krigföring i Sexdagarskriget 1967 och Irakkriget 2003.I andra världskriget uppnådde tyskarna stora framgångar i början av kriget tack vare att de använde sig av blixtkrig. Efter andra världskriget kan man fundera kring om blixtkrig fortfarande är genomförbart och vilka förutsättningar som krävs för detta. Syftet med mitt arbete är därför att granska de viktigaste förutsättningarna för blixtkrig efter andra världskriget.Metoden jag har använt mig av i mitt arbete är kvalitativ textanalys, med utgångspunkt i tidigare forskning kring blixtkriget. I analysdelen gör jag en jämförandeanalys på mina två fallstudier. / This work analyzed the German blitzkrieg in World War II to produce fourcomparison dimensions that can be said is the essence of blitzkrieg. Thesecomparative dimensions are then used in case studies to highlight the process ofblitzkrieg. I make two case studies in my work in Israel and the U.S. war in the SixDay War of 1967 and the Iraq war 2003.In World War II the Germans achieved great success in the beginning of the warbecause they used the blitzkrieg. After World War II, one can wonder whetherblitzkrieg is still feasible and the necessary conditions for this. The purpose of mystudy is to examine the key components of blitzkrieg after World War II.The method I am using in my work is qualitative text analysis, based on previousresearch on lightning war. In the analysis section, I make a comparative analysis ofmy two case studies.

De tyske Blitzkrieg-kampanjene under starten på andre verdenskrig kom som etsjokk på de allierte. Bak Blitzkrieg og den tyske doktrine lå imidlertid enkonseptutvikling som hadde pågått helt fra første verdenskrigs slutt. Denne studiengransker utviklingen av fire sentrale konsepter eller begreper fra Blitzkriegkampanjene,Schwerpunkt, Auftragstaktik, Verbundenen Waffen og Flächen undLückentaktik. Studiens hovedhensikt er å undersøke om det finnes en sammenhengmellom det tankesett som lå bak disse fire begrepene og tilsvarende begreper som ernyttet i dagens amerikanske hær-doktrine og den norske fellesoperative doktrinen.Studien gjennomføres ved å besvare et antall spørsmål. Hvordan oppstod begrepenesom var sentrale i Blitzkrieg – tenkningen? Hvordan har begrepene endret seg overtid og hvordan nyttes de i dagens manøverorienterte doktriner? Er det en faktisksammenheng mellom tenkningen bak Blitzkrieg-konseptet og modernemanøverorienterte doktriner og i hvilken grad er det en slik sammenheng?Oppgaven avsluttes med å besvare hypotesen om at det finnes en slik sammenheng. / The German Blitzkrieg-campaigns during the initial phases of World War IIcame as a shock on the Allied powers. Behind Blitzkrieg an evolution inGerman doctrine had taken place, an evolution that had been in progress sincethe end of World War I.This study investigates the development of four notable notions or conceptsfrom the Blitzkrieg-campaigns; Center of Gravity, Mission Type Orders,Combined Arms and Surfaces and Gaps. (Schwerpunkt, Auftragstaktik,Verbundenen Waffen and Flächen und Lückentaktik).The intention of this study is to investigate a possible correlation between theidea behind these four notions and corresponding notions used in today'sAmerican army doctrine (FM 3-0) and the Norwegian Joint Operationsdoctrine (FFOD).Answering a number of questions has carried through the study. How did thesenotions so central to Blitzkrieg come into being? In what way have the notionschanged over the years, and how are they implemented in today’s manoeuvrewarfare doctrines? Tysklands Blitzkrieg under början av andra Världskriget har studerats ur många perspektiv både avseende de miltära operationerna och den förda politiken. Detta arbete granskar om konceptet var en genomarbetad krigföringsmetod eller tillkom efter hand mellan och under fälttågen. Den period som studeras är åren 1939-41 och de tre fälttåg som nämns ovan. Utgångspunkten är vad olika författare har skrivit i denna fråga och syftet är att studera vad de anser om Blitzkrieg som ett koncept eller inte. Kopplingen de till teorier om manöverkrigföring som lanserats under senare år granskas också. Dessa teorier hänvisar ofta till Blitzkrieg som ett praktiskt exempel på manöverkrigföring.Studien sker genom besvarandet av ett antal frågeställningar. Var Blitzkriegskonceptet utvecklat före kriget? Vem drev på utvecklingen Vad orsakade framgången i Frankrike? Vad fick Wehrmacht att köra fast vid Operation Barbarossa? De skall ge underlag för den diskussion som avslutar uppsatsen och som skall försöka utröna huruvida Blitzkrieg var ett genomtänkt koncept. / Germanys Blitzkrieg during the beginning of World War II has been studied from many perspectives, both according to the military operations and the government’s politics.This work examines if Blitzkrieg was a concept developed before the war.Or did it develop during and between the three campaigns against Poland, France and Russia, between the years 1939-41?The study is based on the study of literature on the subject and it will take a look upon what different writers’ opinions are about Blitzkrieg as a concept. It will also take a look at the connection with the theories about maneuver warfare, which often uses Blitzkrieg as an example of how to make war according to these theories.The study looks upon some questions as a help to investigate these conditions. Was Blitzkrieg a concept developed before WW II? If it was, who was behind it? What was behind the success of the Wehrmacht in France 1940?
