Determinants for Successful Boothmanship & Booth Design: A Book Review of Exhibiting Marketing and Trade Show Intelligence

Hahn, Isabel, Kodó, Krisztina January 2017 (has links)
The book provides a deep insight into the successful organisation, management and marketing of booths at trade shows. By giving practical examples and explanations, Solberg Søilen aims at examining previous research and exploring factors and aspects which can lead, if properly applied, to successful boothmanship. Findings were, that the book is written rather as a guidebook for inexperienced readers in the field of marketing and trade show intelligence. Whereas the exhibiting of marketing is discussed in detail, the topic of “trade show intelligence” is not covered in depth and, thus, the title is rather misleading.Overall, the book is easy to read and follow due to the provided examples, tables and graphs, which enhance the reader’s understanding.

Šušotáž a její specifika / Chuchotage and its specifics

Winklerová, Lucie January 2019 (has links)
This theoretical-empirical diploma thesis deals with chuchotage, i.e. whispered interpreting. The analysis focuses on chuchotage without using equipment, however some aspects of whispered interpreting using the portable interpretation equipment are discussed and compared with simultaneous booth interpreting. In the theoretical part of the thesis, relevant research findings are summarized and an introduction to the selected problem field is provided. Subsequently, I name occasions on which this type of interpretation is usually applied and discuss advantages and disadvantages of it with respect to the interpreter himself, the client and other participants. This part also focuses on the working conditions during whispered interpreting (positioning of the interpreter, acoustic conditions, relation between the interpreter and other participants, personal needs of the interpreter and cognitive factors). The empirical part presents the actual research based on questionnaires that aims to describe the current situation on the interpretation market in the Czech Republic (usage extent of whispered interpreting, working conditions of the interpreter, comparison of whispered interpreting and simultaneous booth interpreting). This part deals also with the quality and mistakes made during the interpretation. As...

Design andImplementation of a Module Generator for Low Power Multipliers

Sun, Kaihong January 2003 (has links)

Multiplication is an important part of real-time system applications. Various hardware parallel multipliers used in such applications have been proposed. Design and Development of a Spray Booth

Axelsson, Daniel January 2008 (has links)

As a part of a more extensive project of developing a new finishing line at the Bolivian door manufacturer Tecno Carpinteria San Pedro this thesis presents the development process for a special designed spray booth. The thesis covers every phase from a product idea to a final concept design.

Working with finishing of furniture and other wooden products can effect the workers health in a negative way and damage the environment. The final result of the manufactured door is also depending on the how well the ventilation system in the working area is. Because of these reasons it is important to use safety equipment and a good ventilation system in the working area. As a part of this new finishing line San Pedro is in need of a special designed spray booth to control the spread of paint particles and other hazard substances that is a result of the finishing process.

Together with the consultant firm CADEFOR a spray booth is designed and a proposal design is presented in this thesis. The result is a design built up with a dry filter solution together with an extractor that creates a cross draft airflow towards the rear part of the spray booth. The result of the project together with some recommendations of increasing the capacity in the finishing line are also presented.

Time, form, and fiction : reading the landscapes of Booth Tarkington

Burrows, Steven M. January 2004 (has links)
Indiana author Booth Tarkington laid the groundwork for understanding issues related to urban design and planning in the Midwest with a tandem of novels: The Magnificent Ambersons (1917), and The Midlander (1923). More importantly, evidence can be found to suggest that it is not only through knowledge and appreciation of tangible urban form, but also an appreciation and awareness of a culture, via its literature, that these issues of design and planning can be more fully understood by design professionals. The purpose of this study, then, is to discover the connections between studies in the field of landscape architecture (with regard to urban form and urban imageability) and the "literary landscapes" of Booth Tarkington. These connections will serve, first, to clarify and prioritize my study; second, to educate design professionals in an alternative way of understanding and tackling the physical issues of imageability in today's world; and third, to suggest to all designers the necessity for knowing, appreciating and utilizing the virtually infinite range of resources available to them. / Department of Landscape Architecture

The research object of this dissertation is to analyze, from the relational sociology of Pierre Bourdieu, how the discourse adopted by business schools (FGV-EAESP and Chicago Booth) contribute to the consolidation of dominant beliefs in the field of Administration, and for what reason these discourses are able to sensitize students, mostly from a fraction of the elite of the State of São Paulo in Brazil. In this way, I seek to bring elements of empirical research developed both in Brazil and in the USA, in order to draw comparisons between the discourses and the beliefs disseminated by these schools. Thus, the study presented here shows that, apart from the fact that such institutions are formed by agents from an educational and economic elite, located mainly in the state of São Paulo, one must consider to what extent the professional position and the networks of which these agents participate are able to create and disseminate hegemonic beliefs both in the markets and in the formulation of ideas and scientific theories in the field of Administration and Economics. / FAPESP: 2013/19448-1
